Real Madrid vs Manchester United

Have a feeling we're either gonna completely bottle in and get done 3-0. Or we're gonna frustrate the life out of them and nick it 1-0 near the end with RVP.

Im supposed to be playing 5 a side at 7. If I do Ill miss the first half. Really in two minds about it. But think Ill play, on the basis that:

And also its a first leg, so nothing will be decided tonight anyway.

You're playing a poxy 5 a side game instead and you call yourself a United fan :wenger:

Can anyone verify this assertion?

Ramos and Alonso are one booking away from missing the return leg while there are no United players who are in danger of the same.

Hope you're all ready to witness an absolute classic. Potentially a game you'll tell people about in years upon years. Honestly believe we're going to witness something truly special tonight. Doesn't get bigger than this.

Been listening to Andrea Bocelli's version of the Champions league theme non stop instead of doing work.. CANT WAIT!!!!!

Some noise going around about Kagawa starting? Obviously not to be believed until confirmed.

My focus is so completely on the league that i'm not having any nerves at all now.. and for some reason i get the feeling we'll get an away goal even if we lose today, and win at OT.

The fecking champions league theme...it speaks to my soul and makes my anus expel itself.

Andrea Bocelli = one of God's greatest creations. He can sing Old MacDonald Had a Farm and still bring tears to your eyes.

I hope it happens. The line-ups on here seem to have got more and more defensive the closer we get to the game. I reckon we want to try and blow them away with work-rate and intensity and try and keep a decent amount of the ball in the first half at least. Sitting back from the start is a recipe for disaster. So I'd still like to see:

DDG
Rafael Evans Vidic Evra
Anderson Carrick Cleverley
Nani/Valencia Rooney ---------
RVP

That team has perfect balance: on-the-ball ability and off-the-ball workrate, potential width and tight central areas, counter-attacking pace and the ability to maintain good possession.

I like this. Would defo go with Valencia simply for off the ball work rate or even go with Young on the left and Rooney right.

Ando over Jones? In this situation?

A massive risk but it could be genius. I wouldn't do it, but I wear a suit and tie for a living so what the feck do I know?

Bookies have more or less written us off tonight. 4/1 to win and Paddy power given you your money back on first goalscorer/correct score etc if United win.

Hope we can silence the critics tonight.

RT @OllieHolt22: Believe Kagawa starts for United tonight. Jones and Carrick in heart of midfield

Risked my life to watch this match by going home, the bigger risk is that I'm going to watch this in a restaurant, hopefully it'll be worth the risk.

Valencia to relieve pressure, and Rooney/RVP/Kagawa? So many great selections for today.

Rooney on the left with Cleverley on the right, then ?

Expecting something like this, possibly Rooney & Kagawa would swap:

De Gea
Rafael Vidic Rio Evra
Jones--Carrick
Kagawa
Valencia------Rooney
RVP

Doubt we'll start Valencia as he can only play one flank and Ronaldo can go the other side. Think it'll be Cleverley on the right similar to how he ended up against Tottenham.

RVP looks stressed about the game ;)

Any chance of Smalling and Rafael to start, it might just work.

Holt says it means Clev isn't playing. However, whether we believe the alice band wearing twat is another matter.

BREAKING: Sir Alex tells MUTV "the responsibility will be with Rafael" to stop Cristiano Ronaldo

Heading out to the pub , hope its full with united fans. already shitting it , hope our defence steps up because we can score 1 or 2

"The responsibility will be with Rafael," Sir Alex said. "Rafael's maturity this season has been fantastic. Obviously Robin van Persie has been sensational but, outside that, Rafa and Michael Carrick are having their best seasons ever.

"He's Brazilian so he doesn't fear a thing. I trust him and have faith in him tonight."

Sir Alex admitted Ronaldo, who spent six seasons at Old Trafford, has progressed even further since signing for Real Madrid, but is confident he knows enough about the 28-year-old to negate his prodigous talent.

"He's flourished since he's come to Madrid," the manager said. "You'd have to be stupid not to respect his goalscoring record. But if one team knows about Ronaldo it's us. We had him for six years so we know everything he can do on a football pitch. We probably have an advantage in that respect, when it comes to facing Ronaldo."
