RAWK Goes Into Meltdown 2016-17 Edition

There's a big difference between United and Liverpool for you. They've spent the years telling themselves they're happy with their situation, whereas we've openly admitted we're shit and have taken steps to try and turn things around. It's quite telling that even now, when the outlook is much better for United, they've gone into overdrive with the self-delusion at how delighted they are with our situation, even when it's all based on speculation. It's absolutely a factor in keeping them as a mid-table club pretending that they're a sleeping giant just biding their time before England and Europe inevitably cower before them.

"I'm delighted to see United winning their 21st title la, it means they are definitely gonna crumble hard next season"

But they've got Klopp. It's only a matter of time la.

I know, who can forget that? I can imagine what the agony aunt columns look like in Liverpool nowadays.

Dear Linda,

Me wife says I'm doin' 'er 'ed in with all me football analogies, sayin' that it's not right that I compared the birth of our son to being like makin' it six times. I reckon she's just being a bit uptight because her old man's a blue and he's all bitter and ugly from living in our illustrious shadow. Anyway, she says she's ready to pack up and move back in with her mum and the old twat. What do you reckon I should do?

Dear Gavin,

Forget flowers, forget apologies, and forget everything else that you've learned down the pub. When you get home tonight, put the kettle on, sit her down so she's ready, and with all the confidence you can muster, inform her that "we've got Klopp!" Not only will she forget all of her plans to leave you, she'll get wet on the spot and you two will be like Leo and Kate on the Titanic, but this time you'll steam right through that big fecking ugly iceberg we call 'United'. Keep saying it to yourself and her, young man, that we've got Klopp!

They will be lucky to finish in the top 4, and they would need to beat Arsenal and Tottenham to get there. At the moment, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool have better balanced squads and better managers.
:D

Has he named his Bathtub Linda?
I remember the Scouser talking to his bathtub & getting invaluable life-advice during the rough patch after the infamous slip.

CrasherKid79 clearly fishing. Well, he's got what we wanted and joins the hall of fame, the fecking wool.

Re: José Mourinho - New Manchester Unted Manager. It's all right Bébé's coming back

I'm loving how quickly after a few years of non Fergie inspired success they've gone totally against the principles the fans preach they have. They promote youth players (all being loaned out or sold), they won't buy the league because that's a City thing (£100mil + Pogba) and they will always play the Yernited way, 442, tricky wingers, attack, attack, attack (a renowned negative playing coach is in charge).

Oh and the last vestige of the class of '92 thrown out on his arse after a pointless few years being groomed as the next manager.

Never again will I accept any of the above being said by one of their fans as what the club stands for ..... It's gone

what happened to their last academy player, that ratty looking gobshite of theirs, Flanagan?

Delicious, coming from RAWK, the moral victors of football.

Wilful Regression: Sam Allardyce is the new England Manager
« on: July 23, 2016, 09:58:04 AM »

I would wish Sam Allardyce luck in his new job but for two primary reasons (aside from the fact that I’m not an England supporter or even English, although I certainly wouldn’t wish a double-whammy of Roy Hodgson followed by Sam Allardyce on those who are):

Reason #1: I have about as much respect for the man as he has shown to former Liverpool boss Rafael Benítez over the years i.e. none. It takes a very special kind of malice to dismiss the stunning, career-defining achievement of a peer winning the Champions League as “nowt to do with him” or define 5th, 3rd and 3rd as “some very poor finishes in the Premier League” that left Benítez “very lucky to be in a job” in the opening weeks of the 2007/08 season. Most of all, it was his complicity in Alex Ferguson’s attempts to rattle a surging Liverpool in April 2009 that really exemplifies the character of the new England manager. Having apparently been the subject of “dismissive”, “disrespectful”, “quite humiliating” and “unfortunate gestures” at the hands of Benítez the previous Saturday after Liverpool went 2-0 up on his Blackburn Rovers side, Allardyce, not normally known for his timidity, waited until the following Friday to draw the world’s attention to this supposed insult, no doubt prompted by his LMA cohort’s infamous “beyond the pale” ramblings earlier in the week (no wonder Ferguson is reported to have influenced his appointment as England boss, having said a few weeks ago that “with Sam’s experience, he is the obvious choice”). It would be difficult for me, as I’m sure it would be for you, to stomach seeing someone capable of such childish skulduggery achieving any meaningful level of success.

Always with Rafa  Conspiracies man.

The rest of the epic text is too purple and lengthy to quote/read.

Manchester City have one of the most unbalanced squads of the top 10 clubs  and Liverpool are anything but balanced, they're terrible and it'll show throughout the season. They can't get it into their heads that we have the best team in the league, on paper at least.

Make Liverpool Great Again

Tis true, we've been in the same position as them in recent times as well, so we know how it feels. Thankfully for us there is light at the end of the tunnel in the shape of our fantastic manager Jurgen Klopp. Hopefully one day they'll find their own fantastic manager who can make them great again.

Must not say anything bad about their Dear Leader...

Also, this reads like a school report where the teacher has been told not to say anything negative in case it upsets the kids, so they go over the top with the praise.

Couldn't sleep last night so got up to watch this. Was glad I did. A thoroughly enjoyable performance from the lads and an excellent training exercise. Milan were poor but very well organised and that provided a good test. Facing defensive teams is something we can find difficult so this was very useful. I can't say there were any poor performers in our team. You could see Sturridge was lacking a bit of sharpness but he'll be fine. Lallana was industrious and if he could only have more of an end product he would be an excellent option for us. Mane was one of our best players and I was particularly impressed with his engine and willingness to track back. He will be a thorn in the side of a lot of teams this season. He took his chance poorly but his goal scoring instinct will return.

Wijnaldum didn't have too much to do on his debut but what he did do he did so impressively. He made a couple of bursts forward from deep which really unsettled Milan's defensive dynamic. It really enabled us to overload the forward positions and have an extra outlet. It was an interesting insight into Klopp will want us to play this season. It looks like he has indeed envisioned Wijnaldum as a player that can play centrally and support the attack. He made some good passes and decisions as well. Let's hope he can continue to grow. Henderson had a decent game in the middle too. I have a lot of time for our captain and he has so much to offer this side.

I was glad to see the host of changes at the break didn't really unsettle our balance and we played like we had for most of the game. We can be pleased that we dominated an albeit weak Milan out. Origi was so impressive when he came on. As someone mentioned above it is great to see that his bulking up hasn't affected his mobility. He has such great pace and an ability to get in behind defenders. His footwork and ability to get a yard on a defender is the hallmark of an exciting striker who could get a lot of goals for us. He took his goal really well. His wrongly offside goal was also a supern finish. Sheyi Ojo also impressed as well. He still needs to put some work into his end ball but his pace and comfort on the ball are very impressive. Let's hope he can get over the initial promise that a lot of young players can show.

Defensively I was impressed with our whole back line. Mignolet stepped up to the plate really well and did everything confidently. I'm glad for him despite my belief Karius should be first choice. This was the first time I saw Klavan in action and I was really pleased with what I saw. Evidently a solid, experienced defender with a commanding presence on the ball - this could be a little masterstroke from Jurgen. Lovren also did what he had to do well. Milner did OK at left back. I'm not convinced he's an ideal solution but credit where credit is due. Wisdom and Trent Alexander Arnold can be pleased with their displays as well. We look organised for the most of the game.

Lastly, Firmino excites me more and more every time I see him. He is a formidable presence on a football field and his flair has a purpose. His anticipation in front of goal is second to none and his ability to be in the right place and the right time will see him score a lot of goals again this season. He would have had two but for a good save. It was also nice to see a bit of showmanship in the true spirit of these type of friendlies. I'm almost willing to forgive him for the top knot. Jurgen can be very pleased with what he saw. There is still room for improvement in terms of chances created but we pressed and recycled possession really well against a stubborn, organised defence. Well done Reds!

However; props for a decent write up on his thoughts. Wish we had a few more like that here to replace the ones who go "hurr durr Memphis".

If I may ask, what is it with this la thing. 5 times, la, Klopp, la. Is it the way they speak, or it has some other important meaning? Forgive my ignorance...la.

That's how they speak - it's mainly gibberish. A word of advice if you ever hear that accent in real life: check that your alloy wheels haven't been stolen.

Come on, own up, who's done this one, :D.

I've just been having a chat with the Liverpool lads here in our Liverpool thread and the difference between here and RAWK is staggering.

Here the debate is balanced, usually friendly and fair. We seem to acknowledge when Liverpool do well and if they buy well, etc.

Over at the Utd thread on RAWK it's just Liverpool fans frothing at the mouth, being completely blinkered and bitter. Nothing Utd do is ever good enough or even nearly good enough, our signings will always flop and our manager, whoever it is, is always sh*t.

It's crazy how different the forums are really. It's almost as if the residents on RAWK are terrified of praising anything Utd do in fear of being banned.

Better than Bluemoon I guess, you would have been banned straight away just for supporting United.

I have read Bluemoon once or twice but it's such an awful place. There are only like 6 posts per page for starters and the use of the English language is something to be desired - and that's being kind.

It's a cesspit.

I like the current exchange with a United fan on that thread.

RAWK lad: Youse have a shit squad, ours is way better and more balanced la
United fan: Actually our squad is quite good, and none of your signings would get into our first XI
RAWK lad in response: What's this shit my dad can beat up your dad? No one cares about your comparisons you fecking manc

I like how so many of them pretend to be locals as well. As if Utd only have supporters from London.

Everytime there is a Liverpool fan calling into TalkSport he is a cockney bloke in his 50s it seems!

Klopp is a good manager but I don't see how anyone rates him a better manager than Mourinho when comparing CVs. Mourinho has won eight league titles across four leagues, two ECs, a UC, etc. He's never had a club relegated either. It's all subjective obviously but the facts show Klopp has a long ways to go and numerous trophies to win to better Mourinho.

People use Mourinho's poor season last season against him but forget that Klopp had Dortmund at the bottom of the Bundesliga about 20 games into his last season and only finished 7th at the end.
