RAWK Goes Into Meltdown 2015-16 Edition

United are celebrating possibly ending our title challenge, let that sink in for a while.

Ridiculous. Celebrating that is waaay down the list, well after a) celebrating an unexpected win in the context of the season, and b) celebrating the performance of our young players.

I have a now pretty old dog who is named after Milan Baros.

I'm thinking there are two basic possibilities here:

1. His dog's name is - actually - Milan Baros.

2. His dog's name is either "Milan" or "Baros".

I don't know...but, yes: "Milan" strikes me as the most hilarious. "Oy, Milan! Not there! Fetch me slippers, Milan, la!"

Milan = 14 years old, or thereabouts. So, yes, pretty old. And named after Milan Baros. It's a wonderful thing, actually, when you think about it.

Was at the game yesterday and predictably the scallies were out in force giving it large before the game. A bit like a chimps tea party with whiny, nasal sound effects.
Not a good weekend for them really, what with the defeat where they were lucky to even get to penalties plus Everton's investment.
Bummer :D

Having managed to wipe the tears away after Liverpool's loss yesterday, JohnnoWhite has hit out at Cantona for mocking Liverpool, with this gem:

That's really shocking and how Cantona can bring himself so low is beyond this United fan - visibly shaken is what I am.

Behave and get a firm grip on yourself Cantona - think of the shame attached to recognising any City triumph (and they were lucky!) man!!

I hope his true identity is revealed one day.

 I read all his posts with a west-country accent. He (she? it? Rossi. ?) sounds like what someone from the Amazon, who'd never made contact with modern man, could assume a Mancunian sounds like.

City were lucky?!? Cake Boy alone was better than any Liverpool player.

He is a scouser so the dog is probably called Milan Boleslaw Anthony Stephen Baros...la

Their chances of qualifying for the Europa League through the league increased when City made it to the final, not when they lost said final. So it's not really a positive from losing the final - that is the problem with this logic. They knew this before the final.
My main point was, the alternative universe where they win the final, meaning there's on less spot for EL qualification in the league, actually improves their lot because they're guaranteed a spot anyway. Having a 100% guarantee of something anyway, with the league option being (random number) 20%, is better than losing the 100% guarantee and their league qualification going up to 40% or 50%. For EL qualifcation, having one more/less spot in teh league doesn't worry them as they've already passed the qualification 'threshold'.

Sheesh, you'd think that Cantona had exposed himself outside an infants school.

He defended his claims about the past with introducing present and the future.

"
Why 10 years. Isn't pre Fergie post Fergie a better way to judge, since it's more relevant to the present and future. Liverpool also finish below us for years and win nothing, it doesn't mean we are more successful over history, if you go back to the 80s you were always first. I don't understand where the 10 year rule comes from, it's irrelevant to the present and recent history. 12 years ago we didn't lose a game all season, it doesn't help us now, all those players are gone, Fergie is gone, he's not coming back, beating Arsenal when 10 points below us is now a regular occurrence. So who has it worse.

Imagine a United fan using a Manchester City cup win for one upsmanship on a LIverpool forum.

Great post la.

Mad how brave, Jordan "I'm hard as nails me" Henderson never volunteered to take a penalty yesterday, in the first five. Despite being captain....In my lifetime, none of our captains bottled out of taking a penalty in a shootout

Wonder what RAWK makes of that...

You should just call them shite and be honest about it, mate, because they are shite. Spot on about the Stoke comparison too. I've been calling them a 300 million pound Stoke for a while now. Seems like their fans are beginning to catch on to that too. They bring you down to their levels of shitness then beat you with it. Usually via a hoof into the box.

As for Arsenal, though; I've been telling a mate of mine for years who supports Arsenal that for yous to win the league, Wenger needs to go out and spend money on one or two world class centre halves and a quality holding midfielder. He never does it, and it costs you year on year. You never replaced Viera just like United never replaced Keane. A player like Lucas would be invaluable in that Arsenal side, as underrated as he is by rival supporters.

What is "a while" and if we are the 300mp Stoke...then what are they?

Yes. I guess you could argue 10 years is a long time. But since he'd specified 'years' himself the number which would allow for him being right - 2 - is a very strange definition. Basically, he's talking arse and then backtracking unconvincingly.

Apparently it doesn't matter.

He was shattered...or something. I personally thought he was just shite...or something.

RAWK is a weird place. They'll ban posters for criticism of their players but are quite happy to let posts go about breaking opposition players legs.

Sturridge also bottled out of it. But, that's not really a surprise.

Personally, I wouldn't even visit RAWK, let alone steal any of the posts over there

On RAWK, somebody posted this:

Arsenal league's position over the last 10 years - 4th, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 3rd.
United league's position over the last 10 years - 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 1st, 7th, 4th.

I don't give a damn about Arsenal.
But look at Fergie's MUFC: 1st or 2nd every single year.
He leaves and our record is 7th, 4th, 5th.

What magic did Fergie use?

I normally don't ever blame players who miss their penalty because it takes courage to volunteer for a penalty kick in a final but then again, some players are born for moments like that and others are obviously not. How Lucas was allowed to take a penalty I'll never know, he's proven throughout his career that he's incapable of finding the net in any circumstances whatsoever, don't know why they thought yesterday would be any different. He talked about 'taking responsibility' before the game yesterday though so maybe that's why. Coutinho's penalty was horrible as well, if you're going to take a stop in your run at least make sure you know which corner the keeper is going to go to.

It should've been Can, Milner, Henderson and Coutinho and I'd have Clyne in front of Lallana as well. Milner was apparently up for the last penalty but he's taken them in the league as well (succesfully), should've been much higher up on the list. Henderson has scored a few penalties as well, maybe he felt he was knackered but I still think it's strange, he's got probably one of the best staminas of our squad and captains shouldn't shy away from taking their responsibility imo.

If you can't see why Sturridge didn't take a penalty you're painfully ignorant though. He was limping with cramps way before the final whistle, it's a miracle he was able to play 120mins without getting injured in the first place.

They only took 4, he was probably number 5.

Quality post by Johnno.... If only LVG would play the kids....

A few seasons ago Lucas was the best player in the league for his role and position on the pitch. The stats are there to back that up too. The amount of tackles and interceptions he made were not only the best in the league, but some of the highest in Europe at the time. He's just one of those players that does all the underappreciated stuff in football like that and doesn't get the credit for it. After he got his knee injury, he just wasn't the same player, although that's not to say he became useless. On his day he can be excellent, as has been proven the past few times that he's featured, especially filling in the role at CB. I was critical of him a bit back when he was underperforming in the midfield. He was clearly starting to struggle for a bit when the games started mounting up. It's a good job we've a manger that recognises his talents and started using him as a makeshift centre half, and since then he's been brilliant. He might not be the calibre of player we require, but currently he's amongst the best we've got.

I'm sorry that the lad had a bad injury. It's his career after all and his job on the line. That may be responsible for his fall-off. But that said, you as a top flight real pedigree club, really do need better in this age of nomadic international footballing journeymen.

Like I said earlier, we're in no great shape either mate and both our clubs ought to be attracting quality - or much more preferable in my book, we should be developing and bringing through our own kids. No-one can tell me we can no longer produce football talent especially with the money we spend on our academies. If they aren't producing the kids, sack the feckers that are scouting and running them on the grounds they haven't recognised talent thus far - and even if it jumped up and kicked them in the bollux, they'd struggle to see it.

There is nothing wrong with striving to win, so long as you don't set the prize above the game. There can be no dishonour in defeat. What matters above all is that the team plays in the right spirit, with the utmost skill, courage, fair play and no favour, and the result accepted without bitterness or conceit. Wait, what? He's talking about Lucas, midfield and then uses the 'we require', 'we've got'. I mean, everybody here knows this wanker is a Liverpool fan but isn't he making it too obvious with those?

Imagine that Arsenal fan has only ever see his team win 3 premier leagues and get to 1 european cup final. Hes clearly delusional and the lack of success is playing tricks on his mind.

If you didn't know football, and read RAWK's and that North bank Arsenal tit's opinions on us and their clubs, you'd not have guessed Manchester United have won the title five times in the last decade.

it was funny seeing scousers point out how many times united have finished above Arsenal last 10 years

I liked Johnno dropping the ''are you a proper supporter?'' bomb on Cantona before producing another Shankly eulogy & much sympathy for the Cup Final defeat. And a Lucas Tribute do I see? - edit - big misread from me, he's slagging off the Brazilian clogger

Where is A@A?

Still in a London police cell or been grounded by his Mum for the excessive impersonation of Jimmy Liddel

We used to have the same problem with Leicester City as you do with Manchester United.

Both terrible, terrible teams but seem to spawn wins against certain teams.

Like us when we played Manchester United last. It was embarrassing. If it had been a boxing match, they'd have been carried off in four pieces and the towel thrown over the remains and yet they somehow won.
