RAWK Goes Into Meltdown | 2013/14

I find it hilarious that they'd adopt that specific phrase, meant to be the glorious rally call of their captain who, a couple of weeks later, would cost them the league. The rally call before a catastrophic run in.

Jaysus you would be at home on RAWK. Liverpool won 12 of the last 16? If that's catastrophic how would you describe your run in?

Liverpool had the league in their hands and pissed it away. That's pretty catastrophic.

Sorry, didn't mean run-in in the large sense, I meant the last few matches (especially Chelsea + Palace). But you know what I meant.

Van Gaal will be a disaster. The players will be in full revolt once he gets his claws into them.

I was referring to the description RIP. Catastrophic is a strong word to use when describing football for me. I would use it to describe a natural disaster but 3 games of ball.

Well of course it's an exaggeration, but that's the fun in football. Hyperbole! Of course it's not catastrophic in the grand scale of things, but from their point of view, it was pretty bad. Question of perspective I guess, but it's semantics anyway.

The catastrophic run of a home defeat and away draw to Crystal Palace. Nothing to do with what came before...

Why do some of them need to add #JFT96 to posts that have no relevance to Hillsborough, I find that very odd.

Why is it JUSTICE for the 96 in the first place? Were the 96 murdered?

It was an incident. "Remember the 96" or something along those lines sounds pretty fair. Why justice?

Unlawfully killed, yes. Justice is the right word.

Official verdict of accidental death at Hillsborough means a lot of people who probably should have been held culpable got off scot free.

An accident would be something that was outwith of the perpetrators' control, but it wasn't. The police screwed up big time, and then made things worse. Then they, and the Government of the time covered it up and blamed the same people who had just lost their lives. It's definitely about justice.

Fair enough, I'm not really all that familiar with the Hillsborough incident to begin with. I'm a young whippersnapper still.

How exactly were they unlawfully killed?

Negligence by police. The reason it's still a huge deal now, apart from the fact that 96 people died, is that the Thatcher government, the police and the press colluded to cover up the police's culpability and created a narrative which blamed the disaster on Liverpool fans, including the victims. Everyone knew it was all a bit fishy but it came out officially a couple of years ago and there's now legal proceedings going on to punish the people responsible.

Thank you, I get it. My alert box is going bonkers. It was just a simple question.

Since you dont even know the 'incident' maybe you shouldn't make the type of comments you're making. Friendly advice, go and read up on it

Haha a 2 game run. I've had longer runs after a few pints of the black stuff!

Negligent not unlawful.

In English law Unlawful Act Manslaughter requires intent to do an unlawful act. Hillsborough would be Manslaughter by Gross Negligence, an entirely different offence. The unlawful part comes from the cover up which is perverting the course of justice.

That's what I mean about how you're going into RAWK territory.

Has anyone cleverly realized that YAWN also could be "You'll never win again"...Or am I way behind on that.

EDIT: Actual Y.N.W.A

I move that we delete the last page and someone kick Vibe in the balls.

So what you're telling me is, since I don't know anything about the incident, I shouldn't ask on a forum when the topic is brought up?

I didn't "make comments", I just asked a question.

I would advice you to just stop it. It is a very sensitive topic and I don't think that the comments like 'why justice' are okay, even if they are in the form of questions.

I personally think you're trying to stir, you can't be that ignorant that you can't read up on what was a defining moment in the security of British stadia

No, what he's telling you is, when there's a very sensitive issue, you approach it with appropriate sensitivity and respect. You don't make crass comments then plead ignorance when all you had to do was a quick Google search to find all of your answers.

I don't understand it either because just about everybody knows mistakes were made that day and everybody knows the police make errors all the time, it's only natural when it's run by human beings. There were mistakes on that day that led to a tragic incident but that wasn't the only one, there were many before and many after, there will be many more.

I just feel time and energy would be better spent trying to reduce the future policing errors and their consequences as opposed to all this focus on the justice for 96 individuals who make up a great, great minority of those who've experienced disastrous consequences because of police failings.

I'm not quite sure what they actually want to achieve, probably all this time and money just for an apology from somebody who has a fancy title but isn't really all that important to life.

Or ya know, justice from a force that is supposed to "protect " it's populace but instead spends time discrediting them and killing 96 innocents.

I mean it is pretty important.

Are we seriously going here? Anyone who's ever stood on a football terrace could have nothing but empathy for those who lost their lives that day, not to mention those who carry the trauma of having witnessed it. The sickening way the British establishment thought they could blame this on those nasty working class northerners with impunity has stuck in my throat for decades, and I am no lover of Liverpool Football Club or its more ludicrous fans. This is common human decency shit.
