A wonderful rip roaring yarn of how Liverpool FC were denied their first title since 1989 by a combination of refereeing incompetence, corruption, and most painfully of all, a slip by our captain Steven at the home of football.

I'm not ashamed that this book brought back the tears, again. It's one for all our fans but neutrals will also be desperate to relive how the whole country united in the quest of reclaiming the title for everyone's second favourite team. Sometimes it's about winning hearts not points, and I think we did that in 2014.

The last paragraph there is fantastic!

And this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars We Dared To Dream For Me Auld Fella, 3 July 2014

I bought this and invited round the auld fella, his auld fella and a few of my bezzie mates. We've all got seasies and we never miss a match, home or away. I read this book aloud for them and within 10 minutes they were all wellin' up, I had to compose myself on numerous occasions as I was also on the verge of wellin' up.
We ran the full gamut of emotions, from tears of joy after beating City, seething at Mourinho's antics at Anfield to tears of rage at Palace. When I had finished the book there was total silence for ten mins, grown men with tears running down their cheeks, the only sound was tears dripping into pint pots of Carling. Finally the silence was broken by my auld fella addressing his auld fella, 'Brendan made us dream didn't he dad?' his auld fella, face reddened by tears, replied 'he did son, he did... but then they broke our hearts'. That was it, within seconds every one of us had welled up again, tears poured down our faces and we couldn't stop. There we were wiping away each others tears with no embarrassment, we knew what this meant. These were not tears of rage nor tears of joy, no, these were tears for our club, our family. No football club does emotion like Liverpool Football Club, no writer gets into the emotion of our club quite like Paul Tomkins.

The thought of one grown man reading a book about Liverpool aloud to his father, grandfather and some of his best friends and they all start crying is one of the funniest things I have ever imagined.

The same nutter who brought us this gem : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Above-Only-Sky-Liverpool-Revolution/dp/0955636701

Liverpool's third season under Rafael Benítez was a tumultuous time both on and off the pitch. In 2007 Liverpool FC finally changed hands, with Americans George Gillett Jr. and Tom Hicks buying the club; work began on a radically redesigned state-of-the-art stadium at Stanley Park; and the team reached a seventh European Cup final. Without doubt a new era has begun.
Above Us Only Sky is much more than just the story of one season. As well as reflecting on the recent past, this book looks to the future, to examine how the new regime can make the Reds competitive in all aspects of the game - from silverware, and the pounds (and dollars) that help secure it, through to the players to whom Gillett and Hicks will be looking to achieve success on the pitch, including exciting new signings Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel, to name just two. What do the Reds need to do to win a 19th league crown?

In the second one he says "seething at mourinhos antics at anfield". What were his antics? His 2nd team beat them fair and square. He did nothing wrong. They seem to find injustice in almost everything.

All these Liverpool writers sure know how to cash in on there vulnerable mentally unstable fans. There is either a new show on or a new book out every week about some poncy Liverpool related shit.

btw an Bayern insider said a few days ago: Bernat and Cuadrado are done deals and Pep Guardiola's #1 target is Coutinho. Bayern offered 32mil€ but LFC rejected that offer.

Bernat is now official. I think Cuadrado will be fix soon as well.

What do you guys think would Coutinho cost? Would he be a worthy replacement for Toni Kroos? Is he (very) good? Would LFC sell anyways?

Can you be sure? You can never be sure with your crowd.
Definitely. It's a parody. Apart from anything, it says the last league win was 1989 which is incorrect.

Have your fun but also be aware of such blatant trolling.

Won't that be a sad moment, knowing that it will never be as good as we had it in 13/14? It truly has been a vintage year, filled with a rich pageant of scouse shenanigans.
Funny that seeing as this thread pretty much went missing for months on end last season.

 Love it!

Aye and yet exploded into life in spectacular fashion near the end of the season - a Grand Stand finish if you like. RAWK NEVER fails to deliver, doesn't matter if you're 2nd in the league or midtable!

It has to be said that Tomkins unconsciously embodies all the best parodies in perfect seriousness. So he is ALWAYS worth laughing at.

I agree. Bit like elements of the Caf towards the end of the Moyes era. Some absolute whoppers acting like spoilt children especially when Liverpool won a penalty. This place went down hill fast.

You must have some serious psychological issues fela. For a person who regularly criticises Caf so much, you spend an awful lot of time here.

  Too good. One would think it is obvious pisstake but one can't put even worse cringe worthy behaviour beyond Liverpool fans.

Don't post here if you hate it so much, pickle!

I am not sure what is more laughable. The posts from RAWK or the desperate attempts to justify them and laugh at us instead by our deluded scouse friends here.

Hehe you're a right bitter feck, and forever biting. The tears through which you type almost every post on here must taste like sweet, sweet nectar.

Don't mention biting around Scousers, they get funny about it.

I don't think it's really been that good to be honest, the last 2 or 3 months aside. Next year could quite easily surpass this one.

Those book reviews. fecking hell. If thats how they react to a 2nd place finish imagine what would happen if they actually won the title. There must be something in the water there. A whole family crying at a book reading. The day Gerrard retires without the medal every Scouser will have to be put on suicide watch.

Judging by the book's cover, last season's run-in was so painful that their eyes fell out.
