RAWK Goes Into Meltdown | 2013/14

Four incidents of serious misconduct in four years. Three biting incidents, also the racism. A ban of one year from football would suffice for me. He doesn't learn.

To be fair to them, majority accept what he's done... again, on the WC matchday thread where they're allowed to speak about it, they're more concerned how it may affect them and still hope he stays, which is understandable considering how important he is for them, only the odd spungo denying.

The amount of lenght they go to defend the indefensible

1. It was ok, nobody died
2. It's not life / career threathening
3. The FIFA will make a meal and trying to persecute him (well, nobody forces him to bite)
4. It was not a bite, it was a headbutt gone wrong ... Attempted headbutt
5. Cantona was way worse
6. The live TV Coverage is actually photoshopped... imagine what they can photoshopped on Iraq
7. Chielini was lying and Suarez really didn't bit him

It's sickening really

Ya, alot of mental gymnastics going on to lessen the incident, for some reason I expected worse, proper denial mode ala the Evra "stich up".

@Vato

What's the Madrid fans view, do you guys still want him? I dont think even Real Madrid can tolerate this kind of shits
They put up with Jose bringing their name into disrepute, but Barça and Madrid would be foolish to sign him now.

I lose faith in human race a bit every time I read this thread. How can members of the most intelligent race be so stupid. I bet they wouldn't know their partners were cheating on them even when they find them naked on the bed humping someone else.

Only for so long, they were disgusted with his behaviour and did not like him being associated with the club.

I find football fans a peculiar bunch, they will vilify a player and call for him to removed from the club for being a not particularly good player.

But they won't condemn a racist cheating cannibal piece of shit like Suarez.

I can only speak for myself ofcourse, but I don't think there are many fellow Madrid fans who'd prefer Suarez over Kun Aguero.

Fans will always support their own, it's just the way it is.

It was the same here with Eric Cantona flipping out and karate kicking that numpty at Palace.

Fact here is that over and above the need for Suarez to be severely punished, which will undoubtedly happen, he clearly needs help. The club should deal with that and the fans should really pipe down.

Accepting the wrath of fellow caftards, I would like to ask, other than for weirdness and dramatic effect, how is biting worse than say, a leg breaking challenge?

FIFA should review the incident after the World Cup, because if they ban Suarez now it would ruin Uruguay's chances of progressing against Colombia.

Then he would only be banned for useless friendlies played over the next few years. He should miss the rest of the tournament and probably the next one.

It's not. Provided that the leg-breaking challenge is premeditated. What Keane did to Haaland is worse than a bite simply because he meant it. But most leg-breaking challenges are either accidental or reckless, not deliberate. You can't bite someone unintentionally.

I'm sorry, but it would ruin the quality of this World Cup if you banned one of its best players in the knockout stages. It is disgusting what he did, but I think it's fair to review the challenge after the World Cup and to give viewers an entertaining fixture with Suarez on the field. They should release a statement saying they can't ban a player before the end of the tournament.

Did it not affect Italys chances of progressing when the ref sent of Marchisio?

Biting a player and the playacting antics that followed have already ruined the quality of the World Cup. He's embarrassed the entire sport on the biggest stage. After a great tournament so far, it's all anyone's talking about now.

Bullshit. He should be suspended, that's ridiculous reasoning.

Not sure if you're serious. That is one of the most idiotic posts I've read on here.

The ref saw it.

Thats besides the point. Point is a ref cannot let the occasion or circumstances affect his judgement. Same thing applies to whoever decides on these suspensions.

The notion that he could go around biting people, unpunished is just idiotic.

By that logic, cards should be given retrospectively as well. In case red cards are produced, the 2 match ban should be applicable only after the tournament is over. The bans are there for a reason, the spirit of the game should be upheld at all costs. Free and fair matchplay is the best form of entertainment. Just because the said player is an excellent footballer isn't an enough excuse to escape punishments simply because it is unfair to the victim of the crime and additionally, to the opposing teams as well.

They could but, it'd be a lie, they can ban a player, they've already done so this tournament in fact.

Apologies, you're right. In fact I think he should be able to do what ever he wants, bite, kick, racially abuse, punch, break someone's leg/arm/spine, pick the ball up and walk it into the net.
Ever think of running for president of FIFA, you'd do a grand job I reckon.

Why? A red card offence was missed by the officials which, if spotted, would have resulted in him missing the majority of the World Cup anyway. Considering the severity, this punishment would have almost certainly been extended under review to a longer ban and that is what he should receive retrospectively.

If the officials spotted it and sent him off, should the suspension still be delayed until after the World Cup?

It's the price you pay for being a complete and utter lunatic.

Whilst it's possibly still a case of 'red mist', biting is arguably more calculated than a leg breaking challenge. Football can be a rough game but clumsy/violent tackles will always be part of it. Biting is not part of attempting to get the ball. It's savage.

All I want is an entertaining second round fixture between Colombia and Uruguay. If you spend two hours of your life watching a football game in a WORLD CUP, you'd want a player like Suarez giving his team a chance. FIFA can use my excuse to allow him to play that game, that's all I'm suggesting.

And you find a player chewing on the shoulder of another entertaining? :wenger:

You have a odd view on our beautiful game!
