Wasn't far off, just 2 points. They are shit.

I think their overall game isn't even half bad but if you can't finish for shit and make too many individual mistakes at the back you are bound to go down.

Will be interesting to see if they can even reach the top half of the table this season or if they will decline even further then last year.

They've played well against City, us and Sunderland.

If they had a 25 goal a season striker they'd be in a better position.

Overall they played really well today. I was impressed with their pressing in the match even after they were down to 10 men.

They play exactly like swansea did. Hold the ball well, do nothing with it in the main.

For a team like Swansea, whos aim was to survive in the premier league, that gets the manager plaudits. For Liverpool, whos fans, and for some reason given the squad the media, think should be challenging at the top, its never going to be good enough.

I feel like crying. The most blatant robbery in the history of this fecking league.fecking c*nt robbed us today.
A theme is developing here. We fail to score then the referee becomes the man of the match (most influential).

We need to start scoring when we're bossing games so that the incompetent and/or corrupt referees have less influence on the outcome.
No, you fail to score then start to blame everyone but yourselves.

feck football, it's so fecking unjust! I'm genuinely upset right now, need a lay down.
Bensons for Beds is on the look out for hooded youths.

fecking hell, why do you all quote and reply to that stupid post? Report it to mod.

And Suso is tidy.
Lad's unhappy with Rodgers' so he gets reported :wenger::wenger::wenger:

jonjo ruin it. he thought he superstar already after europa , couldnt work head down
Not sure what this lad's trying to tell us...

I don't bet much, but our own team just cost me 580 million -
Yes because the other 23 on the accumulator would have came in

I am off out at 1.15 to meet a mate and my Dad in Newcastle for our match v Norwich and expect nothing bar 3 points today.

Good luck Liverpool, after us winning and Sunderland losing the next most important one for me personally, every weekend, is Manchester United losing.

It's not just the fact that a United win gives me and millions more a great weekend, it's also the fact that it pisses off so many others.
:D

Nah. They did a lot today.

Created a lot of good play in the final 3rd. There was the one moment where Suarez played a lovely ball through to Borini only for him to feck it up with his first touch.

As I said, if they had a goal scorer they'd be dangerous.

Yeah, they were the better team. They looked dangerous most times they went forward. But you're right, if they had a proper goalscorer in their team, they wouldn't be a mid-table club.

Agger's injury looks really bad.
Same fans who chanted "let him die" when Smiths ankle was schewiff in 05/06.

i love Rodgers. he deserves a big backing and that is from all fans and our owners, waiting for January transfer window.

we need a big player - CF that will score.
That Andy Carroll's a big play...oh wait.

There shouldnt be a relegation zone after 5 games , in fact nobody should even look at the table this early.
Sure It'd be the same story if they were top.

That's the funny thing about Rawkites, they still think they have a world class team and are just unlucky even though missing individual class is exactly what is letting them down.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard on his side's defeat by Manchester United: "We played really well today with 11 and even better with 10 so it's disappointing. It's not a red card. I'm not going to stand here and say a Manchester United player should be sent off but you look for consistency and if he [the referee] is adamant it was a red then Jonny Evans should have had a red as well. I knew at the time it wasn't a red.

 :wenger:

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers complained referee Mark Halsey cost his side the game after their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

The Liverpool manager was unhappy with Halsey's decision to dismiss Jonjo Shelvey as well as the award of the penalty that Robin van Persie converted in the 81st minute, saying Luis Suarez should also have been given a spot kick.

And Rodgers felt both sides could have been down to ten men before half-time when Jonny Evans escaped unpunished from the challenge that resulted in Shelvey's departure.

"Decisions didn't go our way today. If Jonjo Shelvey gets sent off, Jonny Evans has to get sent off as well," Rodgers said. "It is a tackle the player has to go for and also one the Manchester United player has to go for. But the Liverpool player can't get sent off and the Manchester United player stay on the field. There were a number of poor decisions."

United's penalty came when Antonio Valencia went clear from the half-way line and tumbled under a challente from Glen Johnson.

"It was never a penalty," Rodgers added. "Glen Johnson has made a fantastic recovery run back in and I don't know why Valencia goes down. Up the other end, Luis Suarez gets the contact [from Evans], goes down and doesn't get a penalty."

Liverpool lost Fabio Borini and Daniel Agger to injuries and Rodgers added: "Fabio had a badly swollen ankle that he was struggling to put any force on. We have to wait and see about Daniel Agger. It didn't look too good with his knee. Some of the medics were saying he might have a problem with his medial ligament."

Rogers must have an account at RAWK

It gets better

Shelvey on Twitter:

"I apologise to the fans for getting sent off but no way was I pulling out of that tackle in a game of that importance. I am sorry.

"I have also apologised to Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, just where I come from people don't grass people up to get someone sent off."

:wenger:

I'm at a loss for words... Halsey, if I wasn't still vomiting from that grotesque display we've just witnessed, I would fly to Liverpool asap just to try and slap you. You cheating c*nt. no justice on the pitch today - you really fecked this one.

...

Its a fair summation. Tribal rivalries aside, I can understand their angst and disappointment today: They were the better team over 90 mins, even with 10 men for the majority.

But goals win games, and thats why SAF paid so much to have the strength in depth in our striking department whilst Liverpool treated Carroll with shocking disdain only to replace him with ... no-one.

I fear for Liverpool this season, I simply can't see where they can get 40+ goals from this season ... and that would put them easily in the bottom half of the table.

as for the Suarez penalty claim, the benefit of the doubt does not always given you when have gained a reputation for being a despicable human being.

Evra got the ball too that time.

Johnson had nothing to do with the ball.

So imo they both could have been given either way but the right decisions were made.

What a chav.....jonjo.....thats a name that hangs around outside the chippy at night with the next batch of teenage pregnancies, outfitted in the finest Polyester and elizibeth dukes bling.

Red card challenge, mouth off at the greatest living manager, call him a grass. For idiocy during a Liverpool- United game, that is right up there

Second from bottom, 2 points in 5 games, but Rodgers is apparently fine because he spoke harshly about the ref. They never bloody learn.

Rafa's just published a new book titled It Wasn't A Penalty: YAWN.

What the feck is Shelvey talking about "grass people up?"

I think he's saying that Evans was pretending he was more hurt that he was in order to get Shelvey sent off. From Evans's reaction I thought he got some studs in his thigh but I didn't see any marks, it crossed my mind that Evans played it up a bit.

But when you're playing against a team with Suarez in it, you should give them a little play acting back, if you ask me. So if he did that's fine with me, it was a dangerous challenge anyway.

I don't think this is going to be their season either :D

Possibly 14 points off the top if they lose next week against Norwich. Can't remember worse start for the dippers since long time.
