Also their giddiness surrounding Moyes is a bit odd, considering their current manager's biggest achievements are winning the Manager of the Month once, finishing 11th once with Swansea and sounding exactly like David Brent.

They keep comparing Moyes with Hodgson as if Brenton is some kind of revolutionary Klopp-esque manager.

You've forgoten all the times they won the passing

And the fact that his team have finished above them in the league for the second season in a row, despite the fact that Liverpool have spent far more over the last few years.

Not to mention he has consistently leg a side that has spent a fraction of what they have to higher league positions.

Oh my...talking about if Rafa went to City...

some deluded rawkite... said:
I agree Rafa would weed out the average shite in Milner and Nasri

Get the best out of Kompany, Hart, Aguero and Toure and would sign real winners

RAFA at City would equal domination of both league and European competition.

Because weeding out the average and man management were his obvious strengths while at Chelsea, right?

Rafa at City would be quite worrying. They'd be much better in Europe for one, and probably more of a nuisance in the league as well.

They could leave Kidd in charge and that would still be the case.

Anyway...

From the thread title I knew the OP was going to be pure gold.

My point being, the best Everton fans could hope for this year was to finish above Liverpool and whilst that was acheived, it doesn't mean they have a better team...but a team in a more advanced stage of development.

RAWK logic at its finest.

That thread is itching for me to slaughter it with my logic! I couldnt bear that lot though I would never get through to them!

RAWK still waxing over Torres I see? They probably still think he will regret his decision to leave them and win 2 European trophies and an FA cup in 2 and a half years!

Are they fecking stupid? Fatty has won one 'European Cup' to Fergusons two, if they're using cups to mean european trophies then its not even close

FSW: Uefa cup/europa league x2
European cup/champions league x1
Super cup x1

SAF: European cup/champions league x2
Cup winners cup x2
Super cup x2

They are a bit thick though. My cousin, who is the most deluded Liverpool fan I've known, claimed they are a better team than us. He also claimed that the PL is a mickey mouse league and that the trophy all teams really want most is the CL.

I honestly didn't know what to say

To be honest, I think FSW at City would be a much stronger proposition than they were with Mancicni

As prestigious as the CL is, I still don't get how anyone can think its a better trophy than the PL where luck, bad referee decions, etc. are balanced out over a 38 game season instead of a one-off pot luck cup game :wenger:

Only small or midtable clubs can think that way I guess

It's just a coincidence that his team has 5 European Cups and haven't won a PL title. I'm sure that fact has nothing to do with his opinion.

He makes a bet every year that Liverpool will finish above United

He is genuinely deluded, and as thick as two short planks. I can guarantee that if Liverpool somehow won the title next season, he'd be the first one gloating. He wouldn't be calling it a mickey mouse league then.

We underrate Rafa here as much as RAWK overrate him. He isn't a great manager, but still he is a very good one. I don't think that Rafa at City can win the league, but I think that they would do much better than this season (especially in Champions League).

It might be funny, and quite unrealistic, but let us hope, let us believe that the miserables might rise to glory and be "mighty reds" once more.
We will win the PL, be it 2014/15 or any other season - it will happen one day.

Haven't we had that debate over here once? You'd be surprised at how many people think that actually.

It definitely has more luck involved, and you can even win it (if you're really lucky) without playing more top European teams than you play in a PL season.

But it's still the prestige trophy. It's a bigger honour than the PL because it gives you, albeit imperfectly, the status of best side in Europe.

It would be better if only champions played in it, and of course I realise the implications of that statement.

I liked the old-skool European Cup too.

And yes, as stated I'd snap your hand off for 18-5, shaggy. Having said that, I'm bleeding ecstatic contemplating what we've actually done. Although I'm sure most Scousers would trade in one or maybe two of those big ears for a post-90 title.

From that link, there's another one which shows "the galacticos" Ronaldo, Zidane, Roberto Carlos and Luis Figo:

I swear Luis Figo and Roberto Carlos look younger than 10 years ago haha. And they definitely photoshopped Ronaldo, he's at least 3 times that size now.

Ronaldo went on a Brazilian weight loss show and lost something like 30lbs.

Edit: 37lbs

If you see who the dippers had to beat in order to win some of those European Cups, it really does diminish their value IMO. I'd rather have our 20-3 record, based on who we had to overcome to win our trophies.

No not true.

You will find its something United fans gear more towards because United main focus is leagues, and its what they do best.

You will find that overall in Europe the CL is seen as the holy grail, its what the biggest clubs aspire to win.

This idea that the league is 100% accurate and the CL is just luck is also flawed.

Maybe in the FA cup its true, where you can draw home games vs lower sides until the finals, but in the CL you play both a home and away tie against the side, and generally any team after the group stages is going to give you a tough game, you can rarely fluke your way through with 'easy' draws.

Im sure fans of Real, Barca, Milan, Bayern and most of the rest in Europe will tell you the CL is seen as the biggest regardless of how accurate it is at providing us with the 'best side in Europe'

Why couldn't he win the league at City? You really don't need to be a genius to win the league with unlimited amount of money. I mean, come on, Mancini won the league with City.
