RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

That post has the essence of the sock.

I love how Kenny Dalglish said "People are saying that a point against Man Utd is a bad result - shows how far we've come."

Erm...you have won 3 points against Man Utd in the last 3 seasons at Anfield, Kenny. Surely by just drawing means you are going backwards?

Yesterday was a good point for United, bad point for Liverpool IMO.

Reminds me of the game against City where Owen scored the winner and some of the media were saying it was evidence of City "Closing the gap" that it had been such a narrow win for United, ignoring the fact that City had actually won at Old Trafford just 2 seasons earlier.

I agree. It was a bad point for LFC since they bossed the game.

If we'd been a bit more adventurous and played the likes of Rooney, Nani etc then I think we'd have won. Liverpool are always up for the matches against United, especially at Anfield since it's their cup final. But even though they were up for it, they weren't miles ahead of us in the game.

Considering our strange team, we played very well. After all, if Adam hadn't been so seriously fouled and hacked down, they wouldn't have scored anyway

Yep you were the better side as you are most seasons at Anfield because it's your cup final.

Pity you don't get a trophy for it in May though. I suppose there's always the DVD, times have become desperate for Dippers of late, no silverware in fecking ages now.

It's a little too simplistic. First, we've seen the chances Liverpool created when we went into a more attacking mode and formation. Second, we went to Anfield in recent season trying to play our more natural football, and it didn't work. Now, if we didn't look so weak defensively in recent games, we might have done that again, but under the circumstances, I don't think it was a bad call at all.

Agree with the general point but this year they were pretty shit to be fair... we were just worse.

And still left that shit-hole with a point...

Very true and tbh they didn't do anywhere near enough to win the game. If you talk to a non-biased fan however they are surprised we didn't go for the win. Despite us not having a good record against Liverpool at Anfield, they are comparable to Spurs and I'd like to think we won't play for a point at White Hart Lane.

We all know how they treat the Utd game though and maybe that's what got Fergie a little concerned.

Bossed the game. A home side bossing the game should muster more than one shot on target in 65 minutes of football. A few chances at the end have created a false impression of dominance.

All I've read at RAWK over the course of this season is "Suarez is going to shit all over David De Gea" and "Wait until that lot meet us at Anfield, we're gonna tear United a new one" etc etc.

Well, that didn't go to plan, did it Bitters?

From the F365 Mailbox.

Watching the friendly defeat against Rangers last night proved to be very frustrating (is it pre-season again and the players unfit? Although yes I know some were returning from injury) but perhaps highlighted a few things if nothing else.

The strength? and depth of our squad is still worryingly poor. Very little quality With the reserve goalkeeper being our best player.

Without Suarez we have no creativity or threat on goal. Not sure we had a decent shot on target last night and we almost had a full-strength side out by the end of the game (Downing, Kuyt, Carroll, Adam, Enrique, Lucas etc).

Glen Johnson is a terrible right-back and still can't defend and was at fault for the goal. Please keep picking Kelly ahead of him if fit.

Andy Carroll is miles away from anything representing a Premier League forward, never mind 35 million. He just does not look happy, interested or that bothered. Certainly lacking confidence. Perhaps he needs to be the main striker at a club to function?

Thankfully King Kenny admitted it was bad. Hopefully he will know how to fix it? And we don't just have to look to Suarez each game this season to rescue us.

Before the game they showed the highlights from the last time we played Rangers in a friendly. We won 4-0. Alonso please come back.

Lolz

Did they think that by playing in a midweek friendly their fans would forget they're not in Europe?

"You may lose a foot, but you still have the leg. The essence of the foot is that we have a leg to stand upon, even without a foot, but it is better to have it."

Worthy of Nietzsche.

The essence of the leg is that if its not there the foot is rendered worthless.

Someone posts the .gif of Downing's dive:

And the first response:

Aah that one. Nah that's not a dive. It's an instinctive reaction to withdraw your leg(although his reaction was a bit late) in the fear of it being shot off. Obviously, he had momentum and the act of him pulling his leg out of the way, upset his balance and he could obviously not land correctly on his feet.

I'm not being blinkered, it is my honest opinion.

God almighty.
