RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

I think we had tentative early interest in Henderson but decided against it, while Downing was never even on our radar! In fairness to them, while Downing isn't good enough for us, he definitely improves what they have and could well end up a tidy player for a top 4 chaser. That's probably his limit, but it's Liverpool's limit too.

What is it about Liverpool fans that they think they invented every chant?

Really pisses me off to hear other teams nicking the Torres song and making it their own.
Premier League Fixtures 10th - 12th Sept

'When Jonny goes marching home' is hundreds of years old, and has been applied to loads of footballers, including John O Shea, before Torres.

Reminds me of seeing a LFC fan on some forum wondering why Ireland fans were ripping off 'The fields of Anfield Road'.

Yeah, the tune was getting sang for other footballers long before Torres ever played for Liverpool. What do you expect from those arseholes?

"My kid just came home singing a song that ripped off the Torres one. Something about animals going two by two, now even the schools are ripping us off!"

American Civil War song, I think.

I'm hoping that "Coates is twice the player Phil Jones is for half the price" will go on to be a lesser 'you'll never win anything with kids' for whichever journo spouted it off

Nah, the "you'll never win anything with kids" is legendary, not many can come close to it. Maybe the "where are the goals going to come from?" can have a shout.

"Coates is twice the player Phil Jones is for half the price" can be the new "let's get the table out for the lads" ;)

Coates will be some player if that happens considering Phil Jones is on his way to becoming the next Becks(der Kaiser, not David). ;)

These hacks are a thin-skinned bunch.

I think all this just shows that Torres is in love Liverpool and just forgot about it, and money and a London lifestyle just aren't as comparable to the Anfield roar. I would take him back and a goal in his first game would make me forget everything what happened. 15 mil and 70 grand a week wages would be a fair price i think.

omeone Reading What They Want To Read
Standard F365 Liverpool coverage - Kenny obliquely comments on dreadful refereeing, is criticised 'not his finest hour'. Fergie does it and he is a genius who Kenny is desperately trying to copy.

A Pool fan points out one of the most shockingly inept refereeing displays in the history of football and is labelled as paranoid. F365 apparently condone Mark Clattenburg's rank incompetence / bias against Liverpool by focussing on Pool paranoia rather than his appalling decisions.

Media bias against Liverpool is now so entrenched that Liverpool's hater-in-chief the Neviller is recruited by Sky, football's main media outlet and shaper of public opinion. F365 (part of the Sky group) publish mails about how he should be applauded for 'not giving a f*ck', including about how much he hates Liverpool.

Elsewhere at Sky; Phil Thompson is constantly derided as a figure of fun and Jamie Redknapp is bullied out of any pro-Liverpool feeling he may ever have had. Souness is wheeled out as ex-Liverpool representation to balance things up, but he hates Liverpool enough to have single-handedly destroyed them when he was manager.

Everybody knows that United decide decisions for themselves at Old Trafford, and pretty much everywhere else as well (Sunderland, Wigan and whoever is unfortunate enough to have Alex McLeish as their manager are three homes from home for sure), because most of the referees working today grew up through the Sky-sponsored double decade of United dominance and therefore believe they have a divine right to win.

Liverpool are well and truly off their perch, and are now staring up at United sitting pretty on theirs. It will be interesting to see if United suffer the same backlash as Liverpool did for being so successful. However with the media and referees firmly in United's corner it doesn't seem likely that the playing field will ever be level again, particularly while the FA cower in front of Fergie to the extent that his players can assault the opposition with no fear of retribution.

That's the biggest bunch of paranoid shite I've seen from one of them - tragically hilarious....the author is probably rocking in a corner as we speak

It'll never happen. :wenger:

Can you hear the drums Fernando?

There’s surely a romantic in all LFC supporters that can yet imagine the scene where Torres faces the flashing bulbs, from behind a desk in a packed press conference room at Melwood and reads, head bowed, in humble broken English, a prepared statement of contrition to Liverpool fans. He looks so very sad, and so very very sorry. He also looks a bargain at £15m (plus pretend add ons so that Chelsea can make it look like they’ve got nearer £22m) and on a modest (cough) wage of about £100k a week.

He also might just smell the green green grass of his Liverpool home, see Stevie G’s red jersey again on the peg next to his, see Suarez’s pearly gleaming white toothy smile as he arrives for training, and something might just click in him. He may yet prove himself worthy. Maybe.

Their reserve Eccleston is in trouble for implying the Illuminati attacked the Twin Towers.

Giggs' face after he scored = "No, don't all celebrate with me, I'm all serious. Look at my serious face, it's all serious because I'm regretful. Look how regretful I am, it's written all over my very serious face. I'm not even celebrating that much because I'm so serious about how regretful I am, and they'll all be seeing that on tv at home. They'll all see how serious I am about being regretful."

feck off, you life-ruining hairy sasquatch c*nt.

My favorite RAWK poster. He is a headcase but actually funny.

My journey as an adult watching Liverpool ended before it began in the aftermath of what happened just over 22 years ago. I loved Liverpool from afar from there on and never even returned to visit the city that held happy memories whilst visiting relatives there in the early-mid 80’s. I contemplated going to uni there but even only 3 years after Hillsborough I felt as an outsider and did not really envisage Liverpool ever been my home, albeit for only 3 or 4 years. Liverpool was still grieving; I had no place been there.

Fast forward to 2004 with me approaching 30 and the urges to go to Anfield and to Liverpool were beginning to burn inside again. I felt sorry for Houllier in that final season; nothing was going to save him except a top four finish perhaps to give us the chance of European Cup football the following season. Even achieving that did not save him, But despite the dour football often served up and the constant battles with the press which in the end proved tiresome, I will be eternally grateful to him for delivering that 4th place that season and giving Rafa the chance to make us great again in Europe.

Rafa? Words cannot come quick enough for me to describe what I think he did, and is still doing for both club and city. Football wise - ahead of his time. As a person – an ambassador and fighter for our club and your city. His first season saw me going back to Anfield and Liverpool on a regular basis. For the first time in a long time playing at home meant going home again. The football was hit and miss but Europe suited our style more and well you know…But if Ged displayed the knowledge and appreciation for the Kop and the passion of our support then well Rafa you could say not only did all that but he somehow embraced it as though he was a paying punter.

And its now almost as though it was meant to be that the third leg of this journey had to be Kenny, it was meant that one day he would come back when most personal wounds had healed but at a time when Hillsborough was been thrust once more into the publics conscience. If ever there was a man to not only get us playing English First Division football as it simply has to be played, but also there to maintain the bridge between players and supporters, then Kenny was made for this role.

I have had a real rough several months but seeing Kenny shake them fists at Old Trafford on his return made me just KNOW, that I and Liverpool will be back on our perch again quite soon.

They're gonna be saying what a shit comp CL is, and probably thinks they can do better, while forgetting the fact that they've been tonked by Stoke 1-0 :P

They've been saying it for a couple of years - "the CL is boring, it's all the same teams winning boring matches' etc etc.

Conveniently since Liverpool haven't been in it, it has suddenly become boring and not worth while blah blah blah, funny how that works.

Christ I remember that. I'm not sure it was a ripping off comment.

Something like 'Ireland are singing fields of Anfield Road!' with beaming pride.

fecking cretin.
