Good work, Mr Lance.
Yes, indeed - Barca are bound to fancy employing an ex-Real Madrid coach with a reputation for defensive football, spending lots of money & arguing with the board.
There's a thread at RAWK titled 'Rafa Benitez considering Atletico Madrid job'. If the mods changed the title every time there's a development, it would have been:
'Rafa Benitez considering Atletico Madrid job'
'Rafa Benitez considering Blackburn job'
'Rafa Benitez considering Call Centre job'
'Rafa Benitez considering Cleaning job'
'Rafa Benitez considering Bank job'
Must be great being Rafa, knowing you can have your pick of the top jobs in football.
I remember reading a post on RAWK, just before he got the boot, warning those on there that didn't support him that if the waiter got fired we would sack Fergie to get Rafa.
They actually believed it was a completely plausible and in no way utterly insane idea.
More from that epic post I quoted earlier:
'I think the reason Rafa got out of Milan so quick was because kenny has given him a role very much behind the scenes at anfield. Possibly kenny was desperate to manage the club again and Rafa obviously had to stand aside because as powerful and well-loved as Rafa is, he's no competition for kenny. Maybe the plan was, kenny manage til the end of the season and then Rafa take charge at the start of this one. I wouldn't be shocked if Rafa takes charge at the start of next, but if we're in the top 4 Kenny will want to try his hand at the champions league possibly.'

Would anyone like to guess why Rafa 'got out of Milan so quickly'?

This result will send them into raptures tonight. I can sense some gradiose statements and maybe even a little bit of poetry being typed up right now...
" instead of the Liver bird on our badge, we should adopt the Phoenix , as we are indeed risen from the ashes as Lazarus from the dead. Our sleeping giants, put oh so gently to sleep by Woy have been invigorated by our mighty King Kenny who, like Prometheus, will steal the fire from Mr Ferguson and restore us to our rightful place, at the top of Mount Olympus "

Rafa came here off the back of 2 la ligas after knocking their big two 'off their perch' similar to whisky with Aberdeen. No big time charlie potato's for him but he comes here and two seasons two trophies. The rest is history. You can't tell me he's a better manager than Rafa, not a jack palance. He had a stable board who had patience and fair play to them they've reaped the reward for that. I'll just add that Kenny is God for me but Rafa done the club proud and that whisky nosed twat and his mates should fecking curl up and die for the strokes they pulled with their personal attacks on him while he was in charge here. As if he didn't have enough to put up with in his own back yard with the other two. The feckin LMA, where were they? Lick My Arse is what it stands for and whisky is their king

Kenny must resent having that fat twat hanging around Liverpool like a bad smell.
Waiting, silently in the shadows, eating, biding his time, eating.
