RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

I really did let off a nuclear bomb when I mentioned Schweinsteiger and Xavi in the same post as Henderson. To reiterate what I was saying, I don't even believe that our Jordan will reach the sensational levels that the two aforementioned players have reached, but I see a style in those 2 players echoed in Henderson.
He has a quality first touch, fantastic engine, can pass the ball efficiently and quickly and reads the game well. If he increases his confidence, he could really impose himself on a game.

I have huge hopes for him, I don't care if people disagree.

Not Scholes, but a part of his style reminds you of Xavi or Schweinsteiger.

All this Henderson love in, is he actually any good?

The few times i have seen him for England U21 he has been ok. But that might be due to the poorer opposition that he was against. He's been shit for Liverpool though and if i'm right in saying he was pretty poor at Sunderland in his last season there.

The odd thing is that they have no concern that this City team, with their unlimited spending power could keep Liverpool out of the running for the next ten years.

This is the one thing that has consistently baffled me this season.
The amount of Liverpool fans who are happy to see City up there and beating us. Almost frolicking through the filth of their wins over us and taking them as their own.

City has spent half a billion pounds and basically pushed the top4 aside to be a permanent fixture and it is Liverpool that has been hurt the most through this.

I just don't get it. Their own inept shiteness contributes to their demise but the underlying factor that a team they are happy to see overtake us is a team who won the financial ownership lottery and bought every player in their entire squad... It just baffles me. For all their constant bleating about their history and stature as a club they unite under the banner of ABU and support a total plastic club to glory.

Doesn't make sense to me. :wenger:

Logic falters with the dippers but the closest thing I can think of is that if City can take us out of the equation it somehow makes things easier for them. Reguardless of the fact they still have to play both Manchester clubs at least twice a year and are almost guaranteed to lose half of those matches. It really is a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face but, just like they have accepted their fall into medium sized club status, they seem to be fine with accepting that.

He's not comparing Jordan Henderson to Paul Scholes. He can't be. There's not a person on the planet that fecking dumb, I refuse to believe it.

Welcome to RAWK, enjoy your stay.

Enjoy the inflight movie 'One famous night in Istanbul (and feck all else since then): Revised edition'.

Steven Gerrards conception is a bonus feature.

I think it's more a case of them thinking that it's their god-given right to start winning league titles again some day soon. And in the whole "most successful and bestest club ever" race, we are their only real rivals. It's easier to overtake us if we stay at 19 league titles, as compared to 20. At this time, they're probably choosing to ignore the fact that when these other teams start building up very strong squads, it also obviously means the chances of them winning their next title is also diminishing.

I put Suarez ahead of Skrtel. Performance wise Skrtel has been incredible (as has Suarez), but I felt obliged to vote Suarez for the sheer mental strength and loyalty shown this past 6 months

Denying racist comments and making a media shit storm = mental strength

On the 20 years of the premier league thread

Who gives a feck. Football has been played for over 100 years. Not 20

On goal of the season

Why are people even talking about Crouch or Ben Arfa as best goal: Neither of them were as good as Coates, and his isn't as good as Suarez's.

Bloody hell, Suarez's second is better than Crouch's.

Which Uruguayan scored goal of the season, is the only question to ask

A@A:

Not too many rival fans or people that know me rib me much as I usually respond with borderline psychotic angry ranting before ripping into their clubs, fans, players, managers and tea ladies.

Most for some reason swerve me when we lose.

Dunno why

What a big ol' tuffy he is.

The 'awful transfer dealings'. We bought five British players, two of whom we vastly overpaid for I'd argue. (I think we paid fair value for Henderson personally and that it'll be proven in coming seasons.) Meanwhile we bought four foreign players, none of whom we vastly overpaid for. So the real concern is over the Carroll and Downing transfers, isn't it? We should nail that discussion down to the two cases in point, rather than over-generalising i'd argue.

Ok back to last night and the season, you know a review of the season would be a total mish mash, if you go on league results (as many seem to react to in here) not good enough at all, but if you go on league performances except for a handful of games a lot better football played just not finished teams off for various well documented reasons, however in the cup we have probably played the same quality of football as the majority of league games but got better rewards for it.

In the league you could say we have maimed the prey but never killed them off to use a analogy, however this doesnt apply to last night we were just bad and paid for it even if it was a lucky OG.

What bemuses me is that under Rafa they were absolutely awful in the league bar one season. Roy Hodgson was made scapegoat after Rafa left and now Kenny's just carried that awful form in a much worse position that they're not really bothered about the league any more.

They used to talk about winning it every season but I think even they've realised that they're no where close to reaching 4th let along sticking it out for the title.

I caught last night's highlights and it was like watching a poor championship team, playing old school route one football. Sometimes bordering hit and hope.

Captain Steven Gerrard backed up his manager's claims.
"We will assess the season after the weekend. If we can look back and say we have won two cups we will be happy," he said.
"But of course we still have to address the problem of our league position."

How the might have fallen, that he could say they're happy with this season, even if they won the FA cup.

Call me crazy but, I don't think we are that far off at all. A nonsenical argument maybe but put RvP in this season's team (instead of Carroll) and we'd have won the title weeks ago.

Attack has been our major problem all season. A world class striker (break the bank if necessary), possibly a winger and more cover for CM and we should be fine.

This thread in general is bad, from about half the people thinking they are close to the title, or a few players away. The other half seem to have realized that its more than just players, and they know they need depth too. One guy even compares our team with theirs player for player, and has their entire defence over our first choice defenders

"We just need you know an actual competent striker. (Spunked ~60m pounds on that position already..) You know another winger (an actual proper winger who is prolific may first be on the cards..) and like all teams do, need some cover for CM (or perhaps a coherent combination of players that work in midfield..).. I reckon with all that we have a real shot"..

Just buy a whole new fecking squad already.

I love it when they get into their annual frenzy of optimism. One of the many important factors they forget to put into their fanciful projections is that all the other teams will be buying new players, not sitting in a state of off season paralysis while KK and his merry mob run amok in the transfer market.

I appreciate Nasri for showing loyalty in those 3 months. meant a lot.

Have they sold Adams?
I am in second page & still no mention of him, while discussing their squad.

Carroll - Fee ridiculous, but the deal was made in exceptional circumstances. Has still scored more than Torres since the "swap" went through, so we're £15m up. It's the only sane way to look at it. Should we sell him? No. I think there's a hell of a player in there. Not a £35m player, maybe, but a very useful option for the squad.

Wow!

On the news that a Chelsea fan got a ban for racially abusing Drogba:

And shock, Chelsea have to make yet another statement after one of their fans do something to embarrass the club. Whats that, 4 times now this season?

Klanford Bridge.

The sad, sad truth is. Outside of us LFC fans who feel wronged. Nobody else gives a f*ck.

Its disgrace. Suarez and the club as a whole was fecking given a kicking day in day out. Chelsea have chanted you know what you are at Anton, Antons brother, and now even racially abused their own players, and not a fecking word.

In a way and not wanting to jinx it, Suarez lifting two trophies for us, Evra losing out on the league title and Terry missing the Champions League Final and losing the FA Cup Final would be a small justice in the whole mess

Not a surprise, they are on a par with Leeds fans.

Evra claiming that he was 'yet again' racially abused only for the jury to find he bluffed bringing on a disgrace on himself and the club would be justified. The same goes to terry.

But again, Karma is a bitch.

France - Uruguay international friendly, 15/08/2012 at Le Havre. Save the date...

evra is nailed on to shit out of that

If only the match was in Uruguay. That would be even better.

Not a hope that twat would travel if it was. Still wouldn't be surprised to see him shit out of it on home soil. "Groin strain" or something similar no doubt will keep him out.

What happened to the fella supposedly making monkey signs at our game v Mancs in the cup game?

It was John Terry wasn't it.

When are Chelsea fans going to take collective responsibility for all this racism at their club eh, Piara?

Tweeted him that with the link. I wonder if he'll respond?......
