RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

RAWK

You were doing an excellent job detailing the mess that the team has become in your post, until you reached the final part when you incomprehensibly exonerated Dalglish from almost all the blame.

Do you not see that virtually ALL the malaise and problems that you so competently explained, are caused by completely wrong-headed team set up and strategising, poor decision making, catastrophic player selection, and weak leadership and management that allowed Gerrard and Carragher to have their way at the expense of the team's performance? Just to focus on the last point, Gerrard only achieved his potential because Benitez was strong enough to tell him where to play - in the hole whre he did not want to be and where he still for some unknown reason does not want to be in preference to that central midfield role where he fancies himself to be great. Carragher got his contract renewal under Purslow but Benitez would never have given him such a generous renewal - probably the same kind of year by year extensions that Ferguson meted out even to his favourites Scholes and Giggs, despite both of them being far more talented and better players as MFs than Carragher will ever be as a defender.

Since Dalglish is the manager of the club, he bears the LION'S SHARE OF THE BLAME for either causing or allowing all these problems to occur. It is in fact the entire management team - which includes Dalglish as the most important member thereof - which is the problem.

And I cannot even understand how you can blame the owners - they have done no missteps other than not supporting Dalglish better int he Suarez debacle.

I agree with you that Dalglish should be fairly given one more season, but it makes the situation worse and more confusing for us to allow sentiment and loyalty to blind ourselves to the truth that is as clear as day - that Dalglish, Clarke and COmolli have done more than anyone else to royally muck this season up.

Expect him to be gone soon

Yes, he should be gone soon, but it is not that easy getting rid of KK though like they did with Roy. KK is a god there and this makes the situation even more comical. If it were any other manager he would be under severe pressure. KK has never been a good manager, he inherited a great side in the 80's. Even I could have managed that side to success, I remember those days well. They were a good side. It was awful.
He won with Blackburn because he had unlimited rescources and could not really fail with buying the best around, and still nearly lost it on the last day of the season. This should have been the start of dominance there, but as wasproved, just a flash in the pan. Give him credit where it is due though, he did make Chris Sutton look like a decent player. For a season.
What did he do at Newcastle where he was hailed as the next messiah? not much.
A role up at Celtic as caretaker ended without anything.

I think they're stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

They all seem to be obsessed with saying (or agreeing) that Young's no better than Downing, it's just the team mentality, and if they were switched, he'd be good in our team and Young shit in theirs.

I'm not quite sure how to take this, cos on one side it's quite a compliment and a slight on themselves (and partly true mentality wise) but on another it's complete bollocks, and I'm not sure why they're saying it. To avoid admitting it was a bad buy? Because Young turned them down?

Whatever the reason, it's still complete bollocks. Young has always been better than Downing. At everything. At Villa. For England. Always.

Completely agree with this. For me, Downing only ever had even comparable stats because Young was the more dangerous of the two and thus was probably marked more closely.

Downing would probably have had a better season than he has at the scouse with us, but not in terms of bringing himself in to the team.

The best thing of all is that we're still missing two of our best players in Vidic and Nani

Im not sure but I think Sky meant the poster not Kenny.

It is bollocks but there is a kernel of truth to it

There's something rotten at that club, it's something to do with the fans, the pressure and level of expectation combined with constant failure... it kills good players. They just turn shit there. Even Carroll is a lot better than he looks, he's not a top player but he can score goals.

I'm hoping it will happen to Suarez. There are already signs that Enrique's turning.

Yep, the same delusion seemed rife in Newcastle before they went down as well. Seems like relegation helped Newcastle and their perceived entitlement to be high in the table with mediocre players. Long may the rot continue as far as I am concerned, their display this season with regards to the Suarez affair has evaporated any begrudging respect I ever had for them.

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge claims the Reds are now a club "in crisis".

The Reds picked up their first trophy in six years by beating Cardiff in the Carling Cup final and they will be back at Wembley to face Everton in the FA Cup semi-finals. However, their Barclays Premier League form has been poor. Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Newcastle was their sixth in seven league games and they have lost eight out of 12 since the turn of the year.

It is a situation Aldridge - who played under Kenny Dalglish in the 1980s during the Scot's first spell in charge - feels needs addressing urgently. Writing in the Liverpool Echo, he said: "There is no getting away from the fact that Liverpool are now in a crisis."

He continued: "To lose six out of seven in the league is something the club won't ever tolerate, we can't tolerate that. To have picked up just eight points out of 36 since the turn of the year is shambolic - that's relegation form.

"The fact that this is the worst run in the league since 1954 speaks volumes. Questions are being asked and they need to be answered. The eyes of the world are on Liverpool and the critics are having a field day. We're becoming a laughing stock.

"We're all proud to be associated with the club and everything it has achieved over the years. But at the moment being a Liverpool fan is just embarrassing and that's something I haven't had to say before."

Aldridge has pointed the finger of blame at the players, who he has called on to show more pride.

He said: "The team just seems to have lost their belief. You can blame the manager and the coaching staff but at the end of the day it comes down to the players. They are getting paid unbelievable amounts of money and aren't producing the goods. Some of them should take a long hard look in the mirror.

"They are playing for Liverpool Football Club - one of the biggest clubs in the world - it doesn't get much better than that. They need to realise how lucky they are and start doing it or their Anfield careers won't last much longer. More than anything I want to see some pride. That's all we're playing for in the league now but there doesn't seem to be much pride around."

Revealing, damning stat from @TonyBarretTimes in paper. No LFC player has made more tackles this season than Lucas, who's been out since Nov

 They've just been unlucky though.

Light blue touch paper and run for the hills you big nosed scouse git, they'll be burning your effigy even though they secretly agree with you!

The problem is in the 5 games between Lucas getting injured and Suarez getting banned they picked up 1.6 points per game, compared to 1.7 points with Lucas... hardly dramatic. While Suarez was banned that dropped to 0.8 ppg and since Suarez got back they've managed like 5 points in 8 games.

Do you post on RAWK as well?
That caterpillar analogy is rather sweet. Now your actual RAWK analogy is something far, far scarier -- I'd say positively awe-inspiring in its no-holds-barred barminess --

United are like the bloke at college without an ounce of class whose family have just come into some money & who thus thinks he can go round & buy every bird he likes irrespective of if she's classy or not whilst we are the older classier fella who doesn't always have a bird on his arm but When he does? They're nearly always stunners & he pulls them by sheer force of personality, knowledge how to do so & in general decent history with women (or fans if you get what I'm saying here). United or the kid representing them in this scenario? Never get near these birds (fans) despite their (by comparism to ours) new/relatively recent money/success as the bird (our fanbase & supporters in case you're not keeping up) just aren't Interested in vulgarity, 'new' money or what the media & the club that virtually controls them tell us is right in fact? Quite the opposite & it drives them utterly mad that we are Always like this re' them more than any other. As I said? This indifference on our fanbases & club's part to United? Really hurts them like never before by anyone else - They Live to be noticed, praised, respected & yielded to by their rivals & we never have done any of those things to them. To thus live for such moments & Then? Be flatout ignored by your greatest rivals no matter Where you both are season after season? Must sting like a burn. As such with this mindset? Is it any wonder they keep coming to us like an annoying little brother & asking us how it's done or trying to get to be like us & we? Have Nothing to do with them - Never mind teaching them our secrets or respecting them & like said newly minted kid at college? It drives them mad like Nothing else - Most of what they do is Aimed at us to grab our attention & when we ignore it & them as we normally do? It drives them mad like nothing else could & they go to ever greater lengths to impress us, gain our respect & in general? Just Make us Notice them - The more we thus then ignore them? The angrier & angrier & more bitter they get.

Do not deprive yourselves of the full impact of the post in its entirety. Slight suspicion of troll due to mentioning this thread, low post count, and courting us a bit too openly ('pondlife'!). Still, a masterpiece in its genre not to be missed.

Aldo is a greeting wee fanny.

The same Aldo who hated Rafa and Lucas, backed Hodgson and now is getting at Kenny? Nice.

Dickhead!

How come it wasn't the players fault when Rafa was in the shite Aldo?

He's not wrong though, so if that make him a dickhead, what does it make you?

sorry if that offends you but, we are in crisis, 7 loses out of 8 in the league is NOT acceptable from any LFC team, whoever may be in charge.

Kenny is still in a job for 2 reasons:
1. He is Kenny Dalglish
and
2. he has won a cup (by luck more than skill) and is in a Semi Final of another, which on current form is likely to be as far as we get.

So to sum up the season (1st full under Kenny), we are going to finish no higher than 7th, probably worse and end up with the League Cup, Wow, F'ing great, we are a laughing stock down the road at old Trafford, S. A. F. is laughin his cock off at the way we have simply let them have their way for 20 years, Ryan Giggs could(probably will) pick up his 13th title this year, not one LFC player in all the time he's been in Man Utd's 1st team has EVER won the title. And that my friend are the plain and simple facts.

I remember the replayed semi final against Forest in 1989. Brian Laws had just scored an og. Aldo went and rubbed him on the head. I thought is a poor gesture ill fitting of someone wearing a Liverpool shirt. Anyone else remember this and am I alone in thinking it was not nice?

At least we’re in a better place off the pitch which at least gives us a foundation to sort out some of these problems in the summer.
Sponsorship cash. Ker-ching!

we have spent over 100mill and your talking about waiting years.
Untd must be laughing their heads off, we are a joke.

Sorry mate, but Rafa outspent everyone while he was here. Have you seen that list of signings/in and outs and that cash he spent in during his tenure?

Rafa brought in some total and utter gems, but his scattergun approach meant he brought in a lot more shite imo.

Buying the 'shite' was part of the plan

And weve spent 40m since Kenny came back, so all this spent loads of money on shit is bullshit.
Weve hardly spent feck all really.

Its a good job rafa gave us the gift of torres wasant it? if we d have spent 100 million net on this tripe wed be slitting our wrists now

Net spend, saving lives.

"I traded my bag of gold for some magic beans. But I'm not bothered, because I got a great deal on the gold!"

Seems there is a lot of desent over there at the moment, even daring to criticise the Lord Rafa. Are mass bannings going on or have just given up to the truth at last?

Definitely seems like a change in outlook is happening to some of them.

When Messi is in his 80s, laying on a table having his new (golden) knees fitted, I like to think he will consider what he has achieved in his footballing career and conclude that his biggest regret was never playing for Liverpool.

Can't possibly be serious. Not even from a dipper.
