RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

Apparently not, mate; there's more - it seems Carroll is a better partner for Suarez than Aguero might be:

If you have told me that we should have signed Fernando Llorente from La Liga, instead of Andy Carroll, as the perfect striking partner for the Copa America MVP, I might have agreed. However, as the perfect striking partner for the Copa America MVP, Carroll is a much better fit than Aguero, and his price tag could easily be justified.

Christ on a bike they are clowns. Aguero is class. He's been horribly mismanaged at city and still ends up looking very very good.

"The fact that we haven't won the League for 20 years is like having shards of glass pushed into your eyes, and to see those twats winning it all the time is like having acid poured in after it."

Look at him all grinning and happy now.

Like an abusive husband whos team has just one. Ice cream and cuddles for everyone tonight

He'll be back on the whiskey tomorrow so dont relax too much

 made me laugh.

Things must be bad at Liverpool & RAWK - they've even forgotten how to spell the word 'won'.

Just keep thinking "they won't do it again next year", when they lost the Cantona side, the Roy Keane team, Van Nistelrooy went, Ronaldo left them...yet here we are, April in a football season and they're top of the table.

Great line, that.

They all seem to be obsessed with saying (or agreeing) that Young's no better than Downing, it's just the team mentality, and if they were switched, he'd be good in our team and Young shit in theirs.

I'm not quite sure how to take this, cos on one side it's quite a compliment and a slight on themselves (and partly true mentality wise) but on another it's complete bollocks, and I'm not sure why they're saying it. To avoid admitting it was a bad buy? Because Young turned them down?

Whatever the reason, it's still complete bollocks. Young has always been better than Downing. At everything. At Villa. For England. Always.

It is bollocks but there is a kernel of truth to it

There's something rotten at that club, it's something to do with the fans, the pressure and level of expectation combined with constant failure... it kills good players. They just turn shit there. Even Carroll is a lot better than he looks, he's not a top player but he can score goals.

I'm hoping it will happen to Suarez. There are already signs that Enrique's turning.

Young and Downing are both not quite it as far as the top level goes. Young is playing for a successful side and gets to do cameos, Downing is playing for a midtable side under a lot of pressure.

if you think about it, you have to feel sorry for the scousers, many were allured by the history of glory, cups, championships, recognition, etc.

suddenly, fergie comes to Manchester and everything Liverpool had, disappeared

it must be like being part of the "arrested development" family

its like a leaf on a plant when a caterpillar overtakes it, it takes 1 bite but the owner of the plant makes nothing of it, then the second bite is taken and then the third and then the fourth... How long before the whole plant dies?

The Plant is liverpools history, 1 bite signifies 1 cup for us and the caterpillar is fergie who is slowly killing Liverpool football club.

I'm sorry but I think Downing has always been utter shite and over hyped.

Absolutely. There was much talk up here of his being a United fan and how he slept under a Giggsy duvet when he was young. I always thought he was rubbish at Middlesborough ( certainly as far as United were concerned ) and I was surprised Villa signed him, never mind Liverpool.

Think Downing prior to his knee injury had a bit more pace to his game...and early on at Boro there was definitely flashes of real talent. But as far as England are concerned...who was the last decent left sided player? So of course he got more praise than he deserved.

Think Downing was looking better when he started playing in middle for Middlesborough.
His passing in last few games for Middlesborough(before they got relegated), were crisp.

May be he can be a better player, if he plays in center.

Our players are slow as shit thats why. Couldn't catch up with the counter. You would just see Adam and Jay treading water.

Might sound a bit racist but we need more blacks! Better athletes.

:nervous::nervous:

What's with their roundtable? Can we also have roundtable, i need a wank material after each win :D

Reading bits and pieces of their gruntled admiration on us makes my day! and it's getting more and more these days

RAWK's finest - Andy Allerton

"How this team can be top of the so-called best league in the world is a mystery. As people have said - just shows how laughable it is at the moment.

Dropping behind the other leagues by the minute.
"

If that's the case where does that leave Liverpool?

"The fact that we haven't won the League for 20 years is like having shards of glass pushed into your eyes, and to see those twats winning it all the time is like having acid poured in after it."

I wonder if they realise that Leeds have won the league more recently than liverpool. :wenger:

Whilst I agree Young isn't quite "top level" he's far better than downing, and it has little to do with what team they're in. He was at Villa, he is for England, has always been. He's more talented, period. As of Feb last year, Young had an assist rate of 0.45, making him 8th in the all time PL assist rate table

At Villa.

2009/10
Young: Assists - 16 Goals - 9
Downing: Assists - 6 Goals - 3

2010/11
Young: Assists - 14 Goals - 9
Downing: Assists - 7 Goals - 8

For England

Young: Caps - 19 Goals - 5
Downing: Caps: - 33 Goals - 0

Black and white.

Young's also won the PFA Young Player of the Year & been in the PL Team of The Year twice. And is younger. And was less expensive.

Downing's won the Alan Hardaker Trophy, and I'd even debate he deserved that.

He would also stroll on to Arsenal's team, barely breaking sweat.

Both obsessive, just in different ways.

We'll easily make 30-60 pages on a weekend match day watching their game, referring to the refs, the "poor decisions and luck" they get. We'll call their players and manager names, so on so on.
They'll easily make 5-10 pages on the weekend match day, copy/pasting and laughing at us complaining about the refs, the "poor decisions and their luck". They'll call our players and manager names, so on, so on.
We'll then make 3-5 pages on the weekend match day, saying their copy/pasting and laughing at us is obsessive and their name calling small time.

Rinse and repeat.

The main difference is they pour their scorn into 1 big all encompassing RAWK thread and we'll have ours spread over successive weekend match day threads [or this, if no match day threads were available as was the case tonight, this thread].

Like, this. :)

Do you post on RAWK as well?

Yeah i've noticed that. Although we have numpties who're eager to tell us the quintuple's still on in November Still, that's generally because we're the favorites or near for everything. Everyone still in the FA Cup is above them in the league. Logically, they're the least likely to win it.

That said they're a game raising cup team....Providing they play people better than them. Play teams from the lower divisions and they're comical.

Caroll - 3 league goals
Henderson - 1 league goal
Downing 0 goals
Adam - Adam 2 goals

Words can't describe how poor that tally is.
