RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

That's what mine says.

Now it's possible that it's referring to the Sun's orbit in the Milky Way, but it seems unlikely when mentioned in conjunction with the moon, making it far more logical that it refers to the two of them swimming along in similar but distinct orbits around the earth. Or at least that's my interpretation. I'm sure it is but one of 42831. Religious texts ey? Fun for all the family.

I'm going to PM you with my reply later tonight. (To avoid derailing the thread.)

From the football 365 forum:

I had a 'meeting' this morning with Craig Bellamys agent.

Summary: Commoli is a twat
His agent had Bellamy dragged out of an MRI Scan half way through to broker his move to Spurs at 7:30pm on deadline day because Commoli was f**king him around with wages and stuff before Dalglish shit himself and made Commoli go and grovel which ended up with Bellamy getting a lot more £££ than he should have.

Steve Bruce has said all along that Henderson would never make the step up needed to make it at liverpool

all the players call Carroll 'The Cone' because if you want him over there, you have to pick him up and move him yourself.

 :(

Not sure if Liverpool are indeed a step up from Sunderland these days, there are just two points between them now and considering the form of both sides I'd say there's a fairly good chance Sunderland will finish higher.

Don't know if this has been posted before but thought it was worth a mention.

We should also consider how little time most teams spend in United's penalty area. If those numbers were adjusted to show penalties per hour [or whatever] in the box, United would be much more middle of the pack. Surely teams at the bottom of the table have the ball in their box twice as often as we do, maybe much more. For United to have given away that many pens considering our domination shows we don't really get any favoritism at all.

Good point: statistics can be used to show almost anything, it is said. Sometimes, however, it is a simple matter of, as my maths master used to say, eyesight. It's so obvious that you miss it. Well done for pointing that out.

Love the voice of reason from "Greenmile" in the comments, including about the mediocrity of Stewart Downing. Needless to say he's just dismissed.

You missed the most hilarious bit in the comments. Greenmile is arguing that Andy Carroll is a headcase who's not worth remotely what Liverpool paid for them. He gets this response:

As for Carroll, in all their history, have United never had a talented player who caused the same worries. One from Northern Ireland, perhaps?

Yes, that's right. Andy Carroll is George Best. :wenger:

can it be that he meant Evans?
Where is Evans from?

Bruce would be referring to the step up in aspirations. You are referring to the result of signing midtable players... Answer: midtable

a) Evans has been playing great for months. First choice centre half for United.
b) Evans was wrongly accused of a serious offence which never went further than a false accusation.
c) Evans didn't cost ridiculous money
d) Evans appears to have more than the slightest idea of how to play association football.

Other than that, I see where he's coming from.

Hey, he meant as talented as Caroll.
Evans was the closest to shit, i could come up with.
If you guys think Best, then i am shocked that you guys think George Best is Shite. :wenger:

There's a lad in work who's a manc and a bit of a bellend but he goes the games quite a lot and says each time United start singing about Liverpool he refuses to out of anger. He explained that by doing so they are showing some sort of respect for Liverpool and that it gets to United fans that there was once this superpower who were very much better than they'll ever be.

You filthy scouse liar!

No way do you have a job!

Watched a brief few moments of the Fulham game the other night. It's fair to say that no other football club or perhaps thing in existence raises my ire to such white-hot levels of incandescent apoplexy. I hate them so much. I try not to. I think, it's not worth hating them. But I just see that hypocritical, sanctimonious prick dancing up and down on the touchline when they've scored... and I just can't stand it. Each time I think my rage has abated, I find a thousand more reasons to detest them.

Love it!

What'd Fulham ever do to him? :wenger:

In the most generic of terms, ("clubs can make their transfer money go further by identifying undervalued traits/players and buying accordingly") Moneyball is applicable to anything, because it's a basic economic principle.

But yes, it's hard to see ANY of Dalglish's purchases, even the massively-overrated-by-Scousers Luis Suarez, could possibly qualify.
