RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

I miss theirs crying over Rafa :(
Yes, those were indeed the glory days.

The way the RAWK lunatic fringe have reacted to the Suárez case is basically just depressing and fundamentally unfunny. Still, the legend of brave Rafa The Pure and Defiant lives on --

RedRush@RAWK said:
Rafa wouldn't have done it* IMO - he would have counted on us to support him. But looking at where defiance got Rafa, I guess Kenny made the realistic decision in this world gone mad.

* apologise [my addition]

Dear Kenny

This world gone mad.

KRAP, the chaos of Hodgson, the calamity that is Carroll and this Suarez saga has kept us hilariously entertained in this wonderful thread for the past 18 months.

Now the Suarez story will soon run out of gas (surely Liverpool cant self destruct on this matter any further, surely they cant?!), I wonder what the next incident of comedy gold Liverpool FC will supply us for laugh out aloud in front of our computer screens?

Surely their will be another this season. And I don't mean Cardiff beating them in the League Cup Final at the weekend, thats just a potential 'Let all laugh at Liverpool' moment.

What next incident will lead to a RAWK meltdown? Any idea's or predictions?

The owners sacking Dalglish would be interesting. Although I'd rather keep Dalglish there as manager.

The next great controversy has to involve Suarez again. He is just too big a cnut to keep quiet. Hell, his first game back he kick Parker in the stomach, and he flipped off the Fulham fans when he was already being investigated about the Evra incident.

Are you kidding me?

oh and wtf is a denzel fleem? haha

Finally, Liverpool fans realise that professional football has become as much a business as it is a sport...

Yay, go Brand Liverpool...

Tom Hicks was right, we are Weetabix.

Round Table Manchester Utd 2-1 Liverpool

It is that jonnowhite character, who is he? doesn't read to me like a United fan wrote that anyway

he was down in the newbies for a while, before I was promoted, trying to start some crap about a joint banner and stopping the hate between both clubs, some semi decent discussion, he came off a bit pretentious, got on the wrong side of one of the mods and was binned.

There aren't enough facepalm images on the 'net to respond to this, particularly the last paragraph:

We should focus on those people who need help. The poor kid who feels like committing suicide because of bullying (whether it's about race, ethnicity, being fat etc.). The father who is out of work and has lost self-esteem. The single mother who is struggling to feed her child, the father who is being prevented from seeing his kids, the mentally ill, the teenager who fears for his life from gang bullies.

However we spend huge amounts of time and money worrying about an overpaid footballer who pretends to be offended. There are big problems in the world and people who need help yet the papers focus on two sports people calling each other names.

I'd throw a challenge to Evra if he would listen. Go spend some of your time off trying to help those people who don't have the opportunity that you have.

Saw a similar thing but with soldiers dying in Afghanistan and Iraq mentioned. I just can't fathom how they make these leaps in logic.

Be interesting to do a run-down of Liverpool fans' behaviour in this episode, and how they've swung from one clutched straw to another, each time being made to look like fools, moving to the next, without apology for their lies and misinformation. Not once have they considered a scenario where Suarez is guilty or has done anything wrong.

October - Accusation is made.

- Evra has totally made it all up. He's made four false accusations of racism before. He should be charged and banned for reporting this.

Weeks after initial accusation - Soon transpires he hasn't just made it up as Suarez cryptically admits to calling him 'something his teammates call him'. Also is proven that Evra has never made a false accusation of racism before. Liverpool fans continue to spread lies about him and call him a liar. Press incorrectly suggest he was called 'Negrito'.

- We Liverpool fans are experts in Latin American colloquialisms and all the possible connotations of the word negrito. Negrito is a harmless word, nothing like that racist word negro. It's the name of a chocolate bar in South America. Javier Hernandez called his teammate Negrito, he should be investigated as well. This is a witchhunt against innocent Suarez.

New Years - The report is finally published and it turns out the negrito stuff was bollocks and Suarez actually used the much more pejorative word negro in an argumentative context. The report shows that he and other LFC staff changed their story several times, displaying guilt at every turn, and Suarez is subsequently found guilty.

- Actually, forget what we said earlier about the word negro being a bad word and negrito being ok, because negro is actually an ok word too. Skin colour references in an argument with a black opponent are ok. This is a conspiracy against Suarez. The FA are racist for not considering his culture. Evra is a liar and a disgrace for reporting this as racial abuse. Suarez is completely innocent. The panel were bent, I don't care that our club approved of their selection beforehand

January - The club slowly but surely destroy their reputation, led by the embittered and out of touch Dalglish, who fans the flames of LFC supporters' resentment and paranoia. White t-shirts are made in support of Suarez. LFC fans racially abuse Collymore and others on twitter, and things come to a head when Tom Adeyemi is racially abused at Anfield.

- Adeyemi wasn't called a black cnut, he was called a manc cnut, because he plays for Oldham. My mate was on the Kop, he says so.

Late January - Evra, whose only crime was to report being racially abused is taunted and booed at Anfield. A fan in the crowd makes monkey gestures towards him.

- This is just harmless banter. Evra deserves it. How dare he report being called a friendly term like negro.

February - The saga reaches a new low when Suarez refuses to shake the hand of the man he racially abused despite telling his manager he would do so in the week leading up to the match.

-This is a disgrace. Come and look at these carefully selected and not at all deceptive free-frames which show that it was quite clearly Evra who shunned Suarez, rather than vice versa. I don't care if you've got a multi-angle set of videos claiming otherwise, these grainy freeze-frames prove we're right and actually, Evra is the cnut, and Suarez is innocent.

Last 2 days - The club are roundly condemned in the press, with the story being picked up by US media, forcing their owners to whip the club into shape. Suarez, Ian Ayre and Dalglish are forced into grovelling apologies, confirming beyond doubt that Suarez did in fact snub Evra and no amount of deceptive freeze-frames will prove otherwise now. Suarez is exposed as a liar, who is happy to deceive his own manager, casting further doubt on the stories he told at the tribunal.

- The club are a disgrace, they have sold Suarez down the river. Evra lured him into not shaking his hand. It doesn't matter that Suarez lied to Kenny, he is an honest and upstanding person. Evra is the liar. Suarez is innocent. We're the victims.

I work in the advertising world ..... some of my colleagues are the most creative and imaginative people on the planet.

At the start of this saga, if I'd asked some of them to imagine the most bizarre sequence of events, I highly doubt that even they would have been able to come up with copy like the events that have unfolded, captured very accurately above.

You literally could not have made some of this stuff up!

Are you sure you haven't just made all this up? I just read this on RAWK (Via TLW):

We've had our name and Suarez's name dragged through the mud for months, and we've sat by and said feck all.

Who will Standard Chartered pick to face Charlton Saturday? even Palace Sunday!

There aren't enough facepalm images on the 'net to respond to this, particularly the last paragraph:
I can either just torch myself in despair, or laugh myself silly contemplating the notion of this person's concept of 'spend[ing] huge amounts of time and money worrying about an overpaid footballer'.

 Huge amounts of money.
I spent them worrying about Evra. Try and imagine how this was done.

I'd gladly take 90k a week to be told I'm not going to be spoken to cause I'm black.

Then I would use my spare time to travel the country telling people racism is ok because there's no such thing as races, but apparently that role is already taken :(

It just amazes me that Liverpool fans are throwing all common sense and decency out of the window for Suarez. I mean the guy has played for them for 12 months and has no previous link to Liverpool. The twat will be gone within 2 years when a club with a bigger wage comes calling. It will be fecking hilarious when it happens. Did they learn nothing from Torres?

You have to start with common sense and decency before you can throw it away.

As pathetic as they are, when Suarez dumps them he'll be a martyr for standing up against the might of the F.A and Sir Alex.

It's going to be hilarious :)

Sorry kids, no presents this year. Daddy spent all our money on Evra worry.
Yes, Evra worry is a financial black hole, but it's worth it.

"EVRAAAA!!! I ate my children and spent £10.000 on gin and tramadol and renting Denzel fleems just during the month of November, but I don't caaaareeee about that fat ginger kid or the war veteran because I'm an eeeeviiil Manc!"

Sorry, I've lost it. It's the incessant Evra worrying and reading stuff like --

Hence if somebody calls a black person a name then it cannot be offensive as the black person should not think that he is lower than the person calling the name. I have always agreed with this and my opinion is that name calling should just be ignored or else followed with a profanity back.

If Evra thought of himself as being equal to Suarez then no amount of name calling would harm him.

Do you realise their impending Mickey Mouse victory will be lauded as highly as Rafa's CL victory, given that it's KKK at the helm?

The subtext will be that it is a riposte to SAF and Evra's criminal behaviour and God's way of proving that Suarez was innocent all along

Hello Lance (and 2Bullish)! :D

I know I did it to myself, but honestly it's fantastic here on the other side, I'm contemplating getting my banana suit out. But I'm aware this insanity lark is not all fun and games, oh no, as my new favourite stockdam points out
I love the way Barnes wanted to dress up as a banana. Laughing at "the problem" is the best way to show that you are in control and that "words" cannot affect you. You should laugh at ignorant people and also have a laugh with your friends so they don't feel that they have to pussy foot around watching everything they say.

Here it comes!

However there's a nasty side to racism...

Noooo! :(

While we're in a sombre mood after that downer, let these words of wisdom sink in --
Evra.......grow up as I doubt you have experienced racism. People now think that racism is what they believe Suarez said.
Racists need power to destroy......they get this through being in a position of power

John Barnes: 'We are not the custodians of moral value in the world'

stockdam -- two bangs, a religion, and scare quotes to rival The Priest magazine. I'm blown away.

ETA: And you're right, R -- there is no such thing. There is only friendly banter, conciliatory and friendly banter including the word negrito, passionate banter, and silly sods who deem themselves inferior and can't take a joke and don't understand friendly banter and ruin the fun for everyone.
Get your banana suit on and laugh!
