Still got shortchanged for our outgoings and lack a wow signing. 8/10.
Yoro isn't a wow signing? Yes I that hes mainly one for the future but going in the summer, what were the odds that we would actually get him given he had interest from Real, Pool and PSG?

It’s worth noting that transfer windows are still open in Saudi, Turkey, Portugal and Holland. We could still see moves for Eriksen and Lindelof happen.

The proof of the pudding is in eating it, so we'll find out. Hopefully, the signings we have made have a good hit rate and can become part of the long term solution, helping us win the two big prizes.

My rating based on what's on paper:

Incoming: 6.5/10

The Good - Top prospect in Yoro, A very good player in Zirkzee, a defensive midfielder in Ugarte, based on the videos a very good midfield prospect in Kone.
The Question marks - Mazraoui's injury record, de Ligt career after Ajax has been a bit meh, not getting a goal scorer and a left back.

Outgoing: 8/10

The Good - £80m-£85m in player sales is a +ve and keeps our net spend below £100m for the window, got Sancho of the books, some other good sales.
The Bad - Lindelof and Eriksen still being here means they'd leave on a free next summer. Maguire would be the same if we don't trigger the extension.

No one's going to pay money to take Lindelof and Eriksen. Lindelof was carrying an injury as well, which made his sale in this window impossible. We'd have had to let them go on a free which is not a great idea given we're thin in midfield, Eriksen is a good presence around the squad and our injury record at CB isn't exactly great.

Time will tell on the new signings. We still lack depth in a number of positions and I'm not confident that we score a lot of goals. We may stop leaking them, though, especially in injury time, which would be very positive.

Outgoings are very good. A lot of big wages gone, a lot of deadwood no longer hanging around the place. We might get a change in Rashford's demeanor and output now that his best mate has fecked off. If not, he needs to go next.

I liked Pellistri and Kambwala but we need to get back to the stage where everyone in the starting eleven is the best in the league, or the best in Europe, or the best in the world in that position. Nothing less will suffice.

I would go with a 7.
It is important that a lot of players leave although there are still some I would prefer to sell. However, it is understandable that this is a difficult task. Also I see it is a positive that we did not do any panic buys or loans like Sterling, Rabiot etc. which is a good sign for the future.
Regarding the players we brought in I am not that convinced. 3 defenders, a midfielder whose biggest strengths seem to lie in the defensive part of his game and a number 9.
One of our biggest issues is creating chances and creative play so the players who will be responsible for this will mainly be Bruno, Rashford, Antony, Amad, Garnacho, Mainoo and Mount.
I am not convinced the first 3 mentioned are the right type of players for this, Mount doesn’t seem reliable and has not really shown a lot and the others are kids.

9/10 for me.

Would have liked a LB but I expect it to be addressed next summer.

Would really like to see us get Nypan in January and our midfield options then are starting to look pretty good.

I'd expect us to go for a LB to replace Shaw, DM to replace Casemiro and maybe a LW to replace Rashford depending on how his season goes next year. Could also see us revisiting Branthwaite maybe next year especially if Everton go down or something.

Yoro isn't a wow signing? Yes I that hes mainly one for the future but going in the summer, what were the odds that we would actually get him given he had interest from Real, Pool and PSG?

It's unfortunate, but he is out injured for months, so it dampened the excitement a bit.

We also paid a high fee for a young player with one year left on his contract. Highest of all our incomings this summer transfer.

We did amazing to get rid of some horrible problem players for the club at reasonable fees. Sad to see McSauce go, but we got a good fee for him. Can't really complain much with the outgoings at all.

I won't judge the incoming transfers yet. Zirkzee is the one that concerns me most, we need a goalscorer and he looks more like someone who wants to drop deep and play where Bruno and Mount do. Yoro is obviously an incredibly exciting transfer and it's great we snapped him up.

Realistically, we did the best we could. A lot of the sales set us up for future windows by clearing space in the squad and freeing up wages.

However, there's still gaps all over the squad. Left back, midfield, winger, striker. In fact, the only positions where we look suitably stocked are centre back and right back.

I'd imagine it will take at least another two good summer windows to get where we need to be. And even that relies on some of our young players fulfilling their potential.

It's been near flawless in terms of outgoings, I reckon Lindelof would have gone if he were not injured.

In terms of incoming players, I'd still like a technical ball playing midfielder, a left back and a wide player. But that's impossible in one window, hopefully we go big on those next year.

9/10, it would have been a 10 if we had gotten a new left back.

Completely unrealistic to think we could get rid of Rashford, if so then a new LW would have been great. I think it's good to show some trust in Hojlund by going for Zirkzee and not Toney/Osimhen etc. If Zirkzee/Hojlund don't do it this year, next year we can go for a top class striker.

We can still dip into the free agent market if needed but to solve so many problems in one window was brilliant tbh. INEOS have managed to play a blinder here, they have finally managed to resolve the Greenwood and Sancho issues permanently, build us a new defence, replace Martial and get a DM, shifted on players that had no future here as well as get some potential stars for the future in. The players we have moved on even have sell on clauses or buyback ones if they do push on and develop. The players we have brought in are all young enough that we can get a good few years from them.

As of today, I can't give less than a solid 8. However, I have the feeling I've been here so many times already that I want to be cautious. If we start losing games, that 8 may start looking more like a 6.

We signed players in key positions, and the prices paid are, at the very least, in line with the market. The players we signed could be hits or flops, but on paper, all the signings make sense. I like all the signings, although I would have preferred a different MD profile, one that's more possession-based. I think with Ugarte, the plan is to create chaos in games, and I'm not sure this is what wins you titles, even though it should be fun.

Regarding departures... quite a lot of movement, isn't there? The fees and conditions are reasonable. We were selling players after finishing 8th! I understand the financial reasons why homegrown players are more attractive to sell, but I think this goes against the spirit of the game. Good luck to all the lads who left.

Now, we have the team ETH wanted. It's up to him to find the right balance and start winning matches.

Ah, and last but not least, what has been most pleasant to see is the level of professionalism displayed by the club this summer.

The best thing about this window was that we avoiding stepping on the obvious landmines, like overpaying for Branthwaite, turning down another bid for McTominay, or agreeing to another temporary move for Sancho.

No surprise that no club has tried to sign that waste of space Martial, can't believe that some UTD fans still sing his praises & say how good he is & how good he was for UTD.

Minus points for -
1) LB - Desperate for a LB
2) Goals - 57 goals last season. Is Zirkzee really the answer?
3) A raise the ceiling signing - you cant have a 9/10 window without one signing that takes us another level

So 7/10. It will go up or down from there depending on how the signings turn out.

9/10

Right now I think they did an excellent job, but time will tell. Couldn't expect much more done in one summer. There are definitely holes in the squad, but they've laid a good foundation and did a great job with sales. Wonderful to see the Sancho sold, also as a message to the squad.

For the first time in a long time the squad feels somewhat balanced, like it was built with a purpose in mind, not just a random collection of players who happened to end up at the same place for some reason.

We are banking a lot on youth in attack which is a gamble, but also a chance for them to step up. It's a very important season for Hojlund, Garnacho, Amad to show that they can be counted on to deliver goals and assists. Zirkzee I feel was a smart signing that might become better than many expect once he settles. Also last chance for Mount and Rashford.

I'm not sure that this team will get top 4, but it looks like they are taking the long-term view with squad building. They could have easily made a Woodward style signing getting some veteran who might have helped more than a Yoro in the short term and it's reassuring to see that they didn't. While this season might be a bit underwhelming there is a foundation laid for the future. Possibly for another manager to work with.

Rating incomings is a waste of time until they've had significant time to make any impact. They could all turn out to be flops for all we know. Although from a business point of view they all look to be sensible. No short-term overpriced old crap has been brought in which is great.

However it's been a pretty good window for outgoings and we've made a good amount in sales and saved a load in wages. This is a great start in the ongoing work required to undo the years of damage by the past regime.

Ineos and the guys they have hired is the best thing to happen to this club in a very long time.

8/10.

Obviously we'll have to wait and see how the players actually do. But each signing was at least in a position we needed to strengthen, for reasonable fees, at at ages where they can contribute for the medium/long term. No extremely inflated fees, no players who are obvious mismatches with the team's style, and (crucially) no players at the wrong age profile.

INEOS have said they want us to be challenging for titles in three years, and all the signings made align with that focus, as opposed to "we need to do whatever it takes to get top four this season" desparation. That's a good thing.

And the outgoings were good too. Getting the poison that was Greenwood out of the club most obviously, but also dealing with the Sancho issue and replacing two players in AWB & McTominay whose contract situations meant a call had to be made on them now.

Obviously there are still issues in the squad, but that was always going to be the case. That's why the new owners have openly flagged that it will be years before we're really challenging. But this was a good first step in making the squad younger/better.

Had to round up because 8.876 wasn't listed as an option for some reason. But all things considered a 9/10 is probably fair.

6.5

I like what has come in, but I'm amazed we didn't even look at the left back spot considering we played almost an entire season without one. There is a lot of faith that Shaw will get fit and stay fit, and Malacia will return and be able to contribute. I'm not so optimistic about that.

If I was judging it solely on incomings I'd give it a 6 but I've gone 7 because I think we've done quite well with selling players for the first time in what feels like forever.

The new signings are solid, if unspectacular. We look like we're approaching squad building with a broader view and some kind of a plan now. The squad isn't perfect but it's serviceable and I think the idea will be gradual progression, as it probably should be. The 'superstar' type signings always brought pressure with them when the quality wasn't there around them and I don't think it did us any favours. I much prefer that we're setting the foundations before blowing huge transfer fees on players.

I don't really have much optimism for this season with Ten Hag at the helm but it can only be a good thing if we improve the team's baseline, whether it's him or somebody else in charge at the start of next season. The spine of the team should be stronger with the additions of Yoro, de Ligt and Ugarte, if nothing else.

The fact that we've done quite well with selling players this summer will hopefully provide scope to make some more significant improvements next summer.

8/10 - question marks over Zirkzee and not adressing the attack enough.

10/10 would be an additional winger/attacker, a loaned LB and maybe offloading one more (e.g. Lindelöf).

A 10 purely because they got so much done in spite of Ashworth coming in late and getting Sancho out the door at the final moments. The next few windows will be the ones to really judge INEOS on.

No less than 8. Five exciting incomings - a young striker; a promising teenage centre-back; a good experienced centre back who has won leagues in the Netherlands, Italy, and Germany; a versatile full-back who can play on both the left and the right; and a good young defensive midfielder who seems to be the type of players for whom we’ve been crying out for years. The outgoings have been great, we’ve managed to sell most of the deadwood. Berrada and Ashworth really do seem to know what they’re doing and I’m happy that we finally have competent people in charge of the footballing side of the club.

Havent seen enough of any of the players we’ve signed to “rate the summer”

8/10 mainly for the outgoings, impressive that we've managed to shift so much deadwood in one summer. As for the signings, the jury is still out on Zirkzee, De Ligt and Mazraoui but we did great to bring in Yoro and Ugarte.

Should have got Toney for £40mil. He would complete the team. Jury is still out on Rasmus and hes injury prone. Zirkzee has to prove he perform in the striker role and not just a false 9.

INEOS have said they want us to be challenging for titles in three years, and all the signings made align with that focus, as opposed to "we need to do whatever it takes to get top four this season" desparation. That's a good thing.

This is the main reason I'm not docking them much for still having significant positional and skill gaps in the squad.

INEOS seem prepared to take a longer view with a cohesive vision of building a team that has the ability to challenge for the league. This is distinctly different from the Glazers/Woodward style short-term "have to get back to top-4 and secure CL money" level of ambition.

Whether they are successful or not we can't know yet, but imo the signings that were made raise our technical and physical floor, and the outgoings will likely give us greater scope to fill the gaps we clearly still have in future windows.

Personally I don't think we finish top-4 and that's okay to me if the underlying performances of the team are evolving in the right way. If not I think it's likely and deserved that Ten Hag lose his job, and the commitment they made to him is so short-term that it seems that's exactly what their view is also.

I dont know how anyone can genuinely rate the transfer business until the players have at least played 15-20 games and proven themselves? That's why I reserve judgement until at least half way through the season before forming an opinion on the new signings, and those who have left. For all we know, the new signings may struggle to adapt to the PL, plenty have done in the past and will do so in future, no player is guaranteed to be a success.

We could all be bemoaning the players who joined, whilst annoyed at the form of those who left and wish they'd stayed. So yeah, I'll rate the window around December once we see what each of the new signings has brought to the team.

At this point I have to go 8. At the beginning of it all I would have been thrilled to know this is the outcome.

But, it's kind of like the NFL draft where you really need to judge it after a couple years.

Not sure that Zirkzee is the type of player needed to provide cover/competition for Hojlund. Can still see us struggling to score goals this season.

Lack of cover for Mainoo is a massive concern.

While the defensive options look more solid on paper, the errors at Brighton were poor.

You have to call it pretty good, a solid 7 or thereabouts at this point.

It could turn out to be better - or worse - when we see how the new players actually perform, but that's always the case.

Here and now - it's a seven at least. But since you can't vote 7+, I'll vote plain 7 (if we somehow manage to get rid of a couple of rather pointless, and well paid, players more - to the Saudi league or whatever, it will be an 8).

As for INEOS/Ashworth, there are several apparent positives:

* Getting rid of players that I can easily see we'd have been stuck with previously.

* Getting decent fees for outgoing players.

* Apparently not offering silly contracts to incoming players. De Ligt, for instance, is apparently on less money than he was on at Bayern - which is sensational if true: it wouldn't have happened under Woodward/Arnold in a million years. (Granted, Bayern are in an unusual state - for them - at the moment, but still: no chance a high-profile player would've moved from Bayern to United under the previous clowns without increasing his salary).

It seems as though we have turned a page with regard to transfers. It's too early to conclude, but it's certainly promising (after years of utter incompetence).

Gone for a six. I feel optimistic about the signings and I think we've definitely improved the squad, but our attack still seems extremely weak with not much in the way of creativity on the wings to supply the striker(s).

We managed to get rid of some serious deadwood in the likes of Sancho, McTom, Greenwood and co., which is excellent for finances and morale in the squad, but we failed to get rid of two extremely unproductive wingers in Rashford and Antony. I think if we had replaced even one of these with a good winger who can create chances, and beat his man occasionally, we'd be looking far more threatening.

Transfers in: 8/10 potentially
Transfers out: 6/10
Sticking with the manager: 2/10

Overall: 6/10

8 or 9, taking into account ins and outs.
It sets the stage for next summer when hopefully we will see a couple of marquee players come in, perhaps a forward and a midfielder.

Which “in” players do you think are bad? Or is it that you wanted more?

Personally think it’s been a great transfer window on paper - in and out, but as we know that means feck all until we start to see the proof on the pitch.
I have a bad feeling towards the ex Eresdiv players. I wish by now Ten has learnt hes lesson about the Premier League. Its so hard.

And our lack of goal scores is a big concern for me.

But yeah, he definatly got players out. That was important too.
