If you listen to German and British media :
  1. Højlund negotiations start whenever the Onana deal is perfect.
  2. The Onana deal is perfect when Inter signs Sommer from Bayern.
  3. Sommer can be signed by Inter from Bayern once Neuer is fully recovered.
In other words: Højlund negotiations start whenever Neuer is fully recovered.

Did you not get the memo? Onana can’t be signed because Inter are not buying Lukaku.

That means that if Højlund isn’t not signed, Neuer will never fully recover.

We’re doomed.

Of course I wouldn't want the club to spend anywhere near 100m, I am thinking £50m including add-ons should the maximum amount
Agreed for 100 million we can have Kane. Hojlund is worth a Max of 55-60 million at best.

BTW. How you pronounce his name

Just noticed he follows 90% of our first team on instagram. Is this new or has he always followed them?

sometimes you get players following the odd one from another club like Mbappe, Rashford, Haaland etc but it’s quite unusual for a player to follow loads of players from the same team like that. He also follows United.

As a 2nd striker signing then I'm all for this but he can't be the main striker signing surely, apparently 9 goals for Atlanta last season is not exactly prolific and Utd need a heck of a lot more than this kid tbh.

I’ve not seen a lot of him, but his stats don’t back him being a 60m striker and I’d be worried that we need our striker to hit the ground running.

You’d likely get Ferguson off Brighton for similar.

To the Hojlund thread!

I feel like it gets done for around the same money as Mount

But it surely depends on sales. And nobody seems close to leaving yet. Maguire would get the biggest fee but he seems to be digging his heels to stay

€70m? If the reports are to be believe that they are handing Erik £170m and we've spent about 90-100m of that on Mount and Onana, I'm selling Fred, Telles, any other surplus and going out and getting Kane.

It's 60 million GBP and may include clauses for all we know. Depends if that's a starting position or comprises part of an advanced dialogue. It's too much, but if there's still leeway to negotiate then it's not so far away to think a deal is unworkable. After all around 50 million is probably going to be an okay fee. A lot for what he's done to date but I think we know the market position.

Sign Taremi instead. We need an upgrade on martial and weghorst. If people are going to ask such a high united tax walk away.

Think £50m has to be the absolute ceiling for Hojlund. He's just not a good enough prospect or current player to justify any more.

Why are we still pursuing this? Move on the asking price from Atalanta is so far from reality we shouldn't even bother

Why? They aren’t gonna say they want the low end price for him are they cause then we’ll try and negotiate them down more. Chelsea wanted 70-80 for Mount which was insanely unrealistic, yet we paid 55, its called negotiation, and we’ll negotiate, if they refuse to come down after we try to bring them down then we should walk away

We should realistically be paying 40-45M tops. If they're asking for 70-80M the difference is so far apart we shouldn't even waste time on it.

No striker we seemingly want or been linked with so far is gonna cost 40-45 tops this window, infact they all cost more than 70m euros judging by reports so I don’t know what to tell you. We aren’t getting a striker below 50mill is my guess, regardless who it is.

From what I've seen, he looks like an average player who has strong physical attributes and will press from the front aggressively. Are the videos on youtube not doing him justice or is his first touch and link up play a little smelly?

Seems like he's the only one on our striker shortlist. Must be other attainable targets that aren't valued by lunatics.

I think his highlights and energy look great, but still would not pay over the moon for him. Feels like they think this Woodward's United.

Lukaku is available for 40m tops. Should we call it lukback?

Not in a trillion years, the guy wastes chances in big games for fun.

He had chances to win the CL vs City, he also had chances to keep Belgium in the WC.

I wouldn't touch Lukaku with a 100ft barge pole.
