It’s not an easy task being a United striker especially when you got Rashford and Bruno they don’t wanna share the burden of being the main man they want all the glory to themselves, more so Rashford than Bruno but If it keeps going as it’s been going Ten Hag might sort it out for his own sake.

Our strikers won't have much luck playing with Rashford, Antony, and to some extend Bruno. Pretty poor in decision making and are quite selfish.

Give it half a season and he won't bother making runs anymore.

Exactly, he had one shot yesterday which I think was actually the header from an early free kick. A young striker won't get the service needed from these guys unless they drastically change.

What is this weird narrative about Bruno? There are lots of things to criticise him for but selfishness isn't one of them. How can you be one of the highest assisters in the league every year if you're both selfish and not stratospherically better than everyone else?

I know right. Strange perception about bruno

Weird take on Bruno - did you see the assist for the equaliser against Forest?

As unselfish as it gets.

Bruno is the most unselfish out of the attacking players out there. Give out assists and tracking back more than some of the lazy "all-out-action-back-to-(bare)back-midfielder" players in the team who just jogged around.

Back to Hoyloond, I like his work rate especially off the ball, and obviously, strong when playing back to goal. Maybe one or two touches not so good, but promising performance.

We get Ferguson next summer and we will have our own version of Ferdinand/Shearer up top.

Looks alright as an option up front based on very small sample. I am just afraid this environment is far from healthy and good base to develop his game.

Idiot fans booing Martial coming on also don't help.

No one booed Martial. It was Højlund's number coming up that they booed and rightly so.

Play Rashford on the right for an half each game so he passes/crosses in to the box to Hojlund. Maybe when he has assisted a few times the penny will drop he can do it from the left as well sometimes.

To get the best out of this guy Pellistri has to play. He'll be starved for chance if he's playing with Rashford, Bruno or Antony

We had money for Osimhen or Kane but manager's priority were Onana and Mount.

We needed to sign a gk, cb, cm or 2, Cf or 2 as a minimum, liek 6 signings. Would SPurs have even sold Kane to us and for the price woudl he have even been a good deal when there is no resale value and he may only have 2/3seasons tops left in him, its not like he would be the missing piece when we are way short anyway.

ot happy with ou rwindow, never was but £120-150m is what I think either of those would have cost us this summer. We seemed to run out of funds to make all of our transfers, if we signed one of those two Onana may have been our only other signing.

No guarantee either of those two would score ay goals in this current side if they are not getting any service. Really dont understand this argument, we have jsut signed (overespent yes) one of the very few top young strikers in Europe that has the potential to give us a decade of service but the criticism is we should have spent double the money on a players in there 30s?

Hoijlund as literally played less than 90mins of football, give the guy a chance. The problem for me anyway is certainly not missing out on a Kane/Omishen, its our inability to move on players, spending a lot on the wrong type of midfielder for our needs and our failure to buy a second cb and a second cf to ease the burden and compete with Hoijlund.

I firmly believe we could have spent less than half the fees we paid for Onana and Mount and got players just as good and even mor esuitable, so I am not disagreeing with you there, but I do strongly disagree that extra money we could have saved/made should have been invested in a Kane/Omishen, think it was other areas our lack of investment will cost us points this season, it already is for me with Lindelof starting so regularly

So much of it is muscle memory for an instinctive player like Rashford. Used to be expected to be scorer. It will take a while for him to look for someone in the middle.

Regarding Kane, folks forget it's not just his transfer fees (with no resale value). But his wage package which would be as big as his transfer fees. Not sure why the is still a discussion at this stage of the season

Exactly, add the fee, wages and for me the main part of no resale value, he would cost more than even Mbappe as a net spend

How much resale value do Sancho, Antony etc have?
How much resale value will Hojlund have if he does not live up to expectations?

Do we want to win trophies or do we want to make a profit so the Glazers can take dividend payments?

He will occupy defenders in a way we havn’t seen in a long time. That alone will make a big difference if we manage to use it to our advantage.

He will be very dependant on the service he gets, and I fear that he will have a hard time because of that.

The two mentioned will have more resale value than Kane at 34.
Besides the point is that if we were to get kane it would reduce our budget for the other transfers.
And that would definitely reduce any chance of silverware.
Not sure what you mean by profit for the glazers. Since I don't see the relevance to our transferwi dow budget

Kane/Osimhen + Onana + Amrabat > Hojlund + Mount + Oanana + Amrabat

I think you are failing to understand the concept of a budget/priorities.
If we got a kane we wouldn't be able to afford a few other players which clearly are higher priority positions for eth.
Fyi. Kane's wage bill is over £100m never mind his transfer fees.

But if you want to play fantasy football, why not throw in Mbappe?

Instead of making up numbers why don’t you compare Mount and Kane and Osimhens wages

Like I said previously Kane was not the only option out there, and Osimhen has very good resale value

It was reported that Kane is getting £400k/week at Bayern.

Osimhen isn't gettable since that made it clear that he wasn't for sale and the player didn't show any inclination to move.

None of that is news.

Thats a complete lie, he had an asking price of 130-150m euros.
Just because he did not want to go to Saudi, does not mean he would not have been open to moving to the PL (in fact most reports said he wants to play in the premier league)

Mount is reportedly on 250-300k/week at United and Hojlund on 80k/week

So you're telling me that Mount + Hojlund wages is close to Kanes wages give or take 20-70k/week (Osimhen would not have cost us 400k/week in wages by the way)
And then the fees for both players combined is roughly what it would have taken to sign Kane/Osimhen? £55(+5)+£64(+8m)= £119m(+13m)?

So like I said previously:

Kane/Osimhen + Onana + Amrabat > Hojlund + Mount + Onana + Amrabat

The question around budget makes no sense because we could have afforded to do both scenarios in the equation

If we had have signed Kane we would still be in the same boat. If you dont feed your CF then how do you expect to score?

I read Mount was £200k a week basic at the time of signing and the rest is bonuses, Hojlund was as you said £80k a week basic plus bonuses. So if Kanes wage at £400k a week basic is correct, Utd got two players plus £120k a week to spare.
Edit: All the reports saying £250k a week and Talksport £300k a week now, according to Google.

I think so as well. Defenders certainly seemed to have a harder time dealing with his physical presence than with any of our strikers so far. Also looks like he is quite fast. Now we just have to fix our play in the final third.

Hes not on 200k a week basic. Hes on 250k a week with bonuses taking it to 300k.

It does not matter if United got 2 players if the combination of both players provides less impact than the single signing

I dont think Kane would be any different with the lack of chances made for the CF in this team so far.

I like him. Once he's up to full fitness and can play 90 minutes, he'll be very good for us. Needs to be fed though when in good positions though *looks at Rashford and prays he stops being selfish*

He still needs the ball passed to him though to create chances.

Weird comment, you think he would not be passed the ball, ok.
Or is this the silly Rashford does not pass nonsense again?
Maybe watch Kane play, he moves around so he can receive the ball and because of that he is able to create and score

You don't realise that also due to his movement?
I agree with you Kane is a superb striker, but I couldnt see his numbers he had at Spurs happening here as he was always looked for at Spurs. Rashford gets the majority of the ball here and rarely passes unless hes about to lose the ball or runs up an alley, so to speak. Kane would be on the halfway line trying to get the ball here.
