We knew we didn't sign the finished product. He's young and will hopefully improve.
Definately a mistake to make him our starting no 9. Doubt he will ever score 15 PL goals in a season for us. Decent prospect but not an outstanding talent.
Exactly this, past united teams would be creating these kinds of chances in league games all season.Should have bagged at least one but it's legit the first game this season where you can say as a team we've created some proper chances for the No.9.
He doesn't have it. The three chances today shows that. He should of had a field day today.
Other than being big and fast what are his outstanding attributes that people are hanging their hat on? Trying to see it.
He's 20. He hasn't been anything yet.He hasn't?
Was a goalkeeper who never played for usThe problem is he isnt good enough. His first touch under pressure and at pace is just not as good as it needs to be. David James had the same problem, his control broke down at pace and under pressure. He has everything else but he is just that bit short on something that is unlikely to improve at his age. By the time players have hit their 20's the areas that can improve are reading of the game and positioning sense, the first touch and control are pretty much set in stone. Its a shame because he could be brilliant if he had that. He is bound to have purple patches here and there but I doubt he will ever be consistently able to be what we need.
at 21 he should be showing more. He'll become a good backup striker for us but that's it.
He’s 20
Anyway yes he needs to be doing better.
That's utterly ridiculous. One game of poor finishing doesn't show anything.
I agree he should have scored more, but he got those chances by being in the right places, that's a big part of what "it" is for a striker.
Or if Hojlund scored 2 simple tap ins it would be mootIf Rashford had made the simple square pass to give him a tap in on 80 mins rather than shoot from a hopeless angle this conversation would be moot
Did you miss the first half?If Rashford had made the simple square pass to give him a tap in on 80 mins rather than shoot from a hopeless angle this conversation would be moot
Hahahaha oops got the wrong wrong one, Daniel JamesWas a goalkeeper who never played for us
Sorry 20 years and 11 months.
Did you miss the first half?
Show Denis78 some respect!Well yeah if you want to be exact.
Strange to give someone an older age than they actually are. Do you do that in real life? Why even bother with birthdays?

Im in a similar space, I really like Hojlund and would love to see him start banging them in. Loved Forlan, was so hard watching him at times because he really did tryI'm getting real Forlan flashbacks so far.
I loved Diego, could tell their was a real player there (which he later proved), and was so desperate for things to start happening for him in front of goal. So far, Hojlund is feeling very similar!

The header i grant you he should have scored. But you miss my point, even with the 2-3 chances in the first half, that five yard square pass allowing him to tap it into an empty net would have been a great tonic to him and eased his nerves.
It was nice that Bruno passed a penalty kick over to Rashford the other week. It would be nice if such gestures were being made to Rasmus more consistently.
I'd be pretty surprised if he turned out as good, even if not for usForlan?
worried

23 apps 6 goalsWell...he's better than Havertz at least.
Well he has yet to show any different? Saying today was just poor finishing makes it sound like its agaist the norm. He never had had a good scoring record, even before he came to us.
Seriously, I hope I'm wrong and in 2-3 seasons he is scoring 15-20+ goals a season. But I honestly don't see it.

That's true about Forlan.Forlan was competing with Ruud.
Hojlund is competing with McTominay, he has every chance in the world to make the spot his but he's letting himself down and we'll end the season needing another striker.
