Rashford | Villa | Loan with option to buy

Looked exactly the same to me. With the fresh start and some confidence he will probably score 6-8 goals between now and end of the season, and hopefully that will be enough to convince Villa to buy him, but he will never switch it back on overnight.

Just feel he lost his way here where everything was handed to him on a plate. Still a shame seeing him in another club's jersey
That’s what make me really angry, mean, selfish and unfair to the club that brought him up from nothing. Dropped his levels significantly after signing biggest contract of his career, he has lost all respect to be honest. I don’t care if he does anything good at Villa, i hope United gets rid of him permanently.

It's that why he had a pop at him as soon as he came on the pitch? I swear some of the comments here about the guy are just so bitter
Did you see my other quotes about him.

I was having a pop at the pundits, not Rashford

Looked a bit sharper and motivated, but also rusty in situations where it mattered.

I imagine Villa’s set up will just suit him much more and it’ll be more like the days he played with Bruno Martial and Greenwood, so he will bag some goals.

Got nothing against the guy just want Villa to take him off our hands because the last thing we need is a loan player return that doesn't want to be at the club.

Could have helped them score a 3rd with a nice touch that helped create a chance

He looked ok in the highlights. Cared a bit more. Ran a bit more. Tried to play collective, still rusty and misunderstood by the colleagues. Lets hope for the "option activated".

Villa Fans impressed by his debut going by their Forum. So I'm wondering if they are blind or if there are quite a few bitter people in here who desperately want him to fail at Villa.

I think he will do well for them as he is a quality player when confident and on form.

He’s probably the most impressive thing in Birmingham right now as the city is a huge dump. Let’s hope he does well there so they activate the buy option.

He'll do well there. People need to not get bent out of shape cause of it. The Villa team feels a bit like the situation he had at England. He has to fight and earn his place in a winning team.

It might help him that Villa play better football than we do and he's not working with the likes of Hojlund every game.

Probably somewhere in the middle. I thought he looked reasonably sharp when the ball came to him but off the ball it was the same as he was for us.

Well that answers my "will he respond" question..... Good for him, we can both go our separate ways and hopefully we both go onto good things...

He looked sharp and it was a decent debut, but not more than that imo. Villa's style of play could suit him much better and he'll be motivated to earn a move to Barca in summer ideally. Thing with Rashford is even he's poor he'll have decent G/A stats so you'd expect the same from him at Villa. Hopefully he does well and we sell for 40m.

Looked a bit faster than usual, but the same old with Rashford. If it's not he himself running into the opposition defenders, it's the ball being blasted straight at them.

Right because that would explain the moodiness, lack of effort, etc…

It's a huge defect on his personality that he seems to lack intrinsic motivation. That being said? Villa may provide the extrinsic motivation he needs right now, We'll see.

He’ll do well at Villa because teams don’t play a low block as often against them because Villa are quick out the blocks and score early often. Like the game tonight, Spurs gave away loads of space in behind and that suits Rashford’s skillset.

Watching his highlights from tonight. I swear he seems to have twice as much space as he’d get if he was still with us, it’s almost as if teams give their everything against us and then don’t bother against Villa. I saw him run into an alleyway of players a few times in that cameo and ended up winning a throw in/retained the ball somehow as it bobbled back to him in a load of space. If that was against us it feels like he’d instantly lose the ball no questions asked in those situations. Really odd watching our players in a different team I think

It's Spurs, they give everyone a ton of space.

Objectively, he wasn't amazing but he wasn't awful either. He was mostly good though. Especially for someone who's apparently a bad trainer and not played for weeks.

Can't stand the odious little prick. It was so obvious he was making no effort here, and equally obvious that he would run around like a man possessed when he got his move. Never want to see him at OT again in any capacity.
So much hatred can't be good for you.
