The difference is Rashford has recognised his behaviour, apologised and keen to move on whereas Sancho did not recognise his behaviour, took to social media to call the Manager out and then refused to apologise when given the opportunity.
You say this like Rashford has a leg to stand on. its plastered all over the news and his PR image is in the gutter

and he didnt recognise his behaviour, he fecking lied to the club

He's the epitome of what's wrong with the club under the Glazers.
It's all attitutde and its been let fester over the years. The cult of celebrity.
He'd have been ok in a team with Keane and Scholes etc - you know the type of proper senior pro that would have made sure he kept in line.
I dare say he could have become world class with the proper mentoring on how to be a proper professional

This will light a fire under Marcus, the likes of which you have never seen. Hattrick incoming at the Molineux

Yeah right.
Good luck with that.

The stupid salaries we hand out always come back to hurt us, can't get rid of anyone who is constantly injured, performs badly or has a stinking attitude (or all 3 in a few cases).
Years ago he'd have been sold along with Sancho, Martial and van de Beek .- instead we hope for a half decent loan where we pay 60%+ of the wages. We need to have a wage cap.

I don’t say it like anything. I’m just pointing out the difference between the two cases. If you’re going to infer that from what I said, am I right to infer that you think Sancho’s case is greyer and he might have had a point?

You said Rashford recognised his behaviour. He didnt, he lied and got grassed up by the public making the club look stupid. Sancho is irrelevant to him going out on the piss

You’re jumping into a discussion without taking a moment to read up on the context. Scroll back to read the comment he’s replying to. The difference between this incident and Sancho’s is the different way they have responded to the club/manager after being exposed in public as not dedicated enough.

Him taking responsibility for his actions, and hopefully sorting out his off the pitch activities, is only positive. Maybe this will force him to re-think how he spends his time, as the amount of time he spends on going out clubbing isn't going to have a positive impact on his ability to perform.

Either way, getting him back onto the pitch sooner rather than later is important, as it's the best way of leaving this behind us rather than it hanging over the club and Rashford.

Sorry to hear that. Listening to muppeteer can have devastating side effects.
:lol::lol::lol::lol:

the funny thing is that you're probably right as well. He is relatively reliable but jeez his podcasts are like watching wet paint dry.

Can we just sell all of our wing forwards, Rashy, Sancho, Antony and Greenwood and sign two wingers to compete with Garnacho and Amad, while slowly promoting Lacey?

We'd need one top class winger (Vini Jr., R.Leao, Sane, Son, Kvara) or high potential player (Nico Williams, Xavi Simons, Kubo) and one good EPL proven winger (Olise, Neto, Diaby, Mitoma)

Hardly any of the teams who could afford their wages can spend what you'd ask given the FFP situation for most clubs.

You've gotta hope for the Saudi League to rescue you if you wanna ship them out.

The two-month purple period that Rashford had is better than anything any of our other forwards have ever accomplished, and they might never achieve it. His career 132 goals and 74 assists prove that the notion that he only had one good "purple period" is an idiotic fallacy. Selling him without finding someone to fill his boots would be a mistake.
And when does it come back?

If the club is interested in protecting him he won't be in the squad for Wolves because he would then be eligible for a "random" drugs test. Long hours of binge drinking is seldom done in "isolation" of other substances and that is what particularly concerns me. I hope he isn't in the squad because that means we have chosen to try and sell him or rehabilitate him.

If he is in the squad then the club are actively not protecting him from the implications of a potential positive drugs test and may be looking to terminate his contract. I think they would also only do this if they know there is no significant interest from other clubs in taking him via a quick sale.

For what it's worth, I think Ten Hag and Man United have handled this about as well as possible. Didn't make it a big thing, didn't engage with journalists, just said "we've dealt with it and are moving on".

I don't think he wants to play for United anymore and I'd go as far as saying he's envious and jealous of his English city team mates and he wants that success. I think he looks over there and wants what they have.

I can totally see him at PSG, Bayern or Chelsea.

So can most fans. Lets hope they make a half decent offer and then can do a Sancho abroad

If we can sell him for 80-100m to PSG we can probably get PL proven upgrades in say, Bowen or Mitoma

His behaviour in the Newcastle defeat has lit a fire among fans that any additional fuel will just make the fire spread bigger and bigger. He doesn't help himself. I badly want him back to form. But we need a new culture at the club where we have a zero tolerance policy and when you play you give your all. At the moment the people around Rashford imo are very bad advising him.

I think you're right. Who goes on a 12 hour drinking binge the day before a game, without expecting serious repercussion? I think he's trying to force the clubs hand into letting him leave, and not for the first time.

Like everything we do not know the full story here only 3rd hand reports, gossip and speculation... and yet we are all acting like we are part of ETHs inner circle

Probably Rashford is out of order, but for all we know he might have been given time off anyway and it's all therefore irrelevant

I am not condoning Rashford's "transgression" however whilst we have Baldy Mac-Nay-Feckingclue in charge I am disinclined to give a monkeys, it is yet another symptom of a poorly run team

We would demand £100m+ transfer fee, and he’ll want his £300k pw salary matched or improved upon. Why would any of those clubs pay it after watching him this season? You’d be rolling the dice for millions that he’d get back to his best, of which there’s no guarantee since his bad patches tend to last longer than his purple patches. Just not seeing it. And if he moves and flops then his resale value will plummet.

He either sorts himself out or leaves in the summer, the choice is his i suppose.

I really see Ineos stamping right down on this nonsense once they are fully onboard.

Its a theme that's run right through United for a few years now, time for it to end.

And did it the very week after Brailsford et al were talking about instilling a winning culture

Can't see any club paying anything like £60m+ unless he starts scoring regularly for the remainder of this season. Don't think he's the type to want to be involved in the PSG circus. Not sure I really see him going abroad at all actually.

We're going to get no more that 30 million for him. His form is awful and his wages means that any transfer fee will be reduced to subsidise wages. Our contract team are absolute morons when negotiating new contracts as it becomes difficult to shift players on. Rashford, Martial, Maguire, Varane even fecking Anthony are on 200k or well over it. No need to hand out contracts with that much money for some players that have done very little at this club. Rashford will never go down as a great for Man United, but he is up there as a world class player wage wise. Mental.

Where did you get this £750k figure from out of interest? I find that unfathomable given the shithole bars he was in, he wasn't even in the expensive part of town
He got fined two weeks wages for it.

I’m not excusing him. I would sell him this summer personally but that’s another issue.

That’s what originally happed yep and I’d hope the internal punishment is fitting but that’s an internal issue and that’s how it should be. That’s how Fergie did it so I don’t know why people want different now.

My point is that he’s resolved the issue with the club now and admitted his wrong doing. Don’t care how it got to that point but that is the case. Sancho never stood down. That’s the difference but do confused to wilfully ignore that if it suits your agenda.

No chance! What European team would pay that for a player, who is way too inconsistent and has had more bad seasons than good, goalscoring and assist wise? With the expected wages as well, he is a hard sell. Murtough and the leeches have stuck us in corner once again.

I wouldn’t have sold him off long ago but we shouldn’t have given him a huge contract. He has always been inconsistent, we should have recognized he doesn’t have what it takes to be a top player. But he is paid like a top player now so we can’t really get rid off him for any fee. All that’s left is loaning him and also paying his wages.
