Rashford considering his future...

I think the club should sell. To extend his contract means to increase his salary. That's ridiculous.

I don't even know if its lack of effort or a legitimate mental issue with him. There's a fear and total lack of belief in the way he plays football now, nothing like how he used to be. From an outsider looking in, I wonder how much help these players get with the mental side of the game.

It definitely seems like a mental thing. Before he'd run himself Into the ground the minute an attack is made. But now he's can't move at all. I hope the summer break helps him out. I'd hate to see this happen to Rashford of all player's. He's just not believing himself and all his confidence seems shot to shit.

I do think there's still hope for him. At this point the tide has turned for him drastically online to the point where's its become very extreme. I'm still very intrigued to see what he can do under Ten Hag.
Excuses again. Why does it always have to be next season. Why can't they try this season?

You can write him off baby cakes, I'm not. Plenty of other people who are happy to hate him, you're not alone, so don't worry, I'm just not willing to do so. If next season it's the same pitiful sad story, I'll sadly be at a point where I'm willing to see him go, but it won't be with the hate so many on here are showing. I don't want him given a bumper new contract, it would be idiotic, but I also don't want him binned yet.

If our squad was in better shape I'd be happy to let him move on for the right price. Its clear things haven't haven't right for a while and maybe a fresh start is best for all.

Given the absolute state of our squad at the moment though we'd be mad to get rid. I agree with those saying a one year extention (is there an option in his contract?) On the same wages and give him a real ultimatum, is the best way to go.
Yes I have also said that if they need to increase his contract give him a years extension on the same money. Surely he wouldn't have the nerve to ask for more... oh wait he wouldn't have to with the board at Utd. This would be a given.

Baby cakes thanks sweetie.
On Rashford and others surely they should be trying their hardest every game. Every season there seems to be an excuse. Perhaps they have hit their limit and other teams have learned their limitations.

he was given that wage at around 21 yrs old. And the next one will of course be an increase

Extending his current contract is the most he can hope for, surely? We need to distance ourselves from Woodward's pay them whatever they want policy.

That's pretty much where I'm at right now with Rashford.

He's earned the chance to turn it around under a competent new manager, one that is renowned for his work with the younger players. Oh, hi Erik

The club needs to see he can get back to form even before offering the same deal let alone an increase. I'm prepared to see how he does next season and if there's no big improvement then we have to consider offers.

A big problem for him going forward though is his friend Sancho. If Sancho is the preferred left hand side player attacker under the new manager then we'll see the similar issues. Long term he doesn't want a right sided role and I doubt he can get his England role back there either. It's looking more like he has to move for his own sake and become the main man on the left for some other club and at least rise up the pecking order for England.

I hear quite a few willing to give him another season and sell if he doesn’t perform, but do you all realise that he will have a year left on his contract? He could easily hold out and leave on a free transfer the following year.

I do yes.

Apparently we have an option to extend as well for 1 year.

I've also made the comment before to maximize any offer we need to sell this summer but I've seen the club waste so much and really it's not the main point whether we get a small offer with a year left or he goes for free. The fact we had reports of new contracts for Rashford is the scary thing. The club simply should not be in talks to extend let alone increase his contract until he can show he's capable playing well for sustained period. We could be stuck with a now poor player never to return after his injury/surgery.

1 year optional extension will keep him till 2024, keeping him for another year is a huge risk imo

We should sell him if we receive offers in the region of 50-60m this summer.

And how the standards fall. Most mid table teams wouldn't be happy with that

Didn't say I was happy with it but you need to be realistic. He's been absolute dogshit for a good while now, yesterday was astep in the right direction. He won't go from shit to world-beater within a week. He needs to show some fight and will when coming of the bench, I think he did that yesterday.

We should be considering his future, he's been a complete waste of time for 2 seasons along with his best bud JlIngz who also needs to feck right off.

Had it with this squad, I don't think I've despised a United squad more than this lot. From mediocre players starting 40 games a season to the club captain being a complete loser and what seems to be half the squad moaning and leaking to the press. Feck the lot of em.

I think the most realistic thing to say is he won't ever be good enough.

Maybe he’s just becoming disillusioned with the club. He’s very young, world on his shoulders, forced to lead the line because of the clubs incompetence, charity work and then going through uniteds worse period in decades. Too many managers already and I don’t blame him if he’s not arsed learning from his 4th manager, knowing there’s a 5th coming in the summer:lol:. Also the whole Bluemetel scandal and Martial being loaned away, people he’s worked with for years progressing together to form a deadly partnership only to fall apart this season. Plus there’s nothing left to fight for this season and it’s too late for 4th. I have a feeling next season he’ll be reinvigorated. With a much Better manager for next season.

When was his forced to lead the line?

When was his forced to lead the line?
Not really forced. But since he first burst into the pitch, he's been the main man forward from that day. Lot of pressure for a youngster. Propped up for being the future of United. Anyway I'm just saying he's burnt out.

I think the most realistic thing to say is he won't ever be good enough.

I think he has it in him to be a decent option, he has shown it before in my opinion. But he really needs to amp his work-rate because he isn't good enough to afford being lazy on the pitch.

I can promise United CF next season will score 20 + league goals. If United bring Raphinha and Christian Eriksen of free to United. 100 % convinced. A contract solution for Eriksen is maybe 1 year contract with option of another year. If Eriksen health condition is still top and he deliver top performances.

United as a team are playing tennis without the ball now right now. Or United CFs can smash, but need top quality consistent service.

Like Ten Hag was doing with Sebastien Haller
Tadic ----- consistent top quality service ---> = Goals goals and goals

Top consistent quality service from :
Eriksen & Raphinha & Bruno ----------- Ronaldo/Rashford as Uniteds Cf next season = goals, goals goals = fan all happy. Week in and week out.

How to line up the 2 super creative and skill ful players like C.Eriksen and Raphinha in the team in a 4-3-3 total football and Dutch formation?

Raphinha - Eriksen/DVB - Fred/Garner - Bruno - Sancho/Rashford + Ronaldo/Rashford

Fred/Garner = a more defensive and balance role cm player

Raphinha + Eriksen + Bruno + Sancho/Rashford = top skill on the ball and creative = top consistent service too United CF. Beside all of them have goals in theirs games. They are not only service boys and players. All of Raphinha, Eriksen and Bruno are good enough for 5 - 10 goals as offensive and creative attacking players.

+ Look how Christian Eriksen has transformed and lift Brentford like Bruno was lifting and helping United and Ole to get a new contract.

In the end. Confidence of the players will rise. If the players keep playing regular and has the manager trust + top quality teammates and service.

Like playing with Cantona. A top players in all aspect. But skill, football vision and understanding and mentality (high self belief). Playing with Cantona will rise your confidence.

Like scoring goals. Confidence is not isolate thing. Confidence is a result of many reason and factors. Just saying and demand Rashford to find confidence by himself alone. Like DVB. Sitting on the bench, bench, bench and bench. Do you not it will affect DVB confidence?DVB will think in his mind. Am i good enough? Why is the manager keep placing me on the bench?
A manager trust is important as top qualities teammates.
And if a manager doesnt know this? Then the manager need to learn more about psychology.

Back to Rashford, Ronaldo and United struggling as a team. Special attack. Bring C.Eriksen & Raphinha to United. Beside a strong and solid back line. United will score enough goals next season to be back in top 4 and challenge to score most goals in premier league. 100 % convinced and can promise.
Because i would love to play United CF. If i get the service of Raphinha, Eriksen, Bruno, Sancho/Rashford weeks in and weeks out. It will help a lot for mine confidence and performances.

Like Patrick Viera just saying : Its all about the collective. If the collective is doing well. The invidual will doing well. If the collective is struggling or collapse. The invidual will struggle too. And it will naturally affect the invidual confidence.

Be patient boy. If the new manager. Get Raphinha and Eriksen or another 8 on same level as Eriksen or above. Life will be much better for all United players and fans. Whole as club.

The next United manager that will bring on Raphinha and Eriksen or another world class nr.8 will succeed.

Except you don't pay a "decent option" those type of wages, nor will someone with his celebrity accept being a bench piece (Which is what his quality dictates he is these days, no matter how many ex-players and pundits think otherwise)

Most disgraceful cameo I've seen in a long time. Pathetic excuse of a professional footballer. We simply have to get rid.

Cut and paste every time he plays. A simply disgraceful player

Completely lost all ability to kick the ball. I bet he struggles to beat a cone in training, let alone a player.

It's like Space Jam, except only Rashford's talent and confidence has been sucked right out of him. He tried the same kick and run move 3 times and it failed everytime, then passed the ball to Norwich players repeatedly. Not quite sure what's happened to him.

Completely devoid of any confidence or desire to do anything about it from the looks of it.

I can tolerate being out of form but his constant laziness and sulking is a disgrace.

At this stage it really feels like you could make a Space Jam movie about football with Rashford.

I can't remember seeing a player regress as much as he has this season, we will see what happens with ETH but it's worrying at the moment
