Rashford considering his future...

Why do you think we will only get a few million for him and what do you class as a few million?

This is something that I do wonder. We undesell our players and struggle to sell some due to there contracts, but seen many a time "we wont get a fee for Pereira/Lingard" etc etc as so they are worthless.

Then underperforming playres liek Rashford and Maguire. This is a league that pays over £30m for Michael Keane, over £20m for Callum WIlson approaching 29. Not slating those players but some of our players are a much bigger profile, much more the right age and are England internationals. YOu cant buy average English footballers often now of the right age for under £25m being conservative.

There are lots of current players of ours I would actually be happy to see leave the club and Rashford is one of them. But thats still with the right investment from selling them. I dont mean every player needs replacing as we have a bloated squad, I dont mean we should sell Rashford for say £60m and spend that £60m.

But we should be using the money wisely in net spends and come on, as poor as they have been there is no way we shouldnt be getting upwards of £85-90m in total for Rashford and Maguire if we were selling them.

Anyone with a brain wouldn’t even bid 40 Mil for Harry Maguire. Name one club that would buy a man who is so slow ? I mean other than united board. Let’s not forget his massive wages as well.

I love how Ralf doesn't care about pandering to any of the players and their PR crap. That is the sort of person we need as a technical director or whatever position it is that exists above the manager

Ralf is right to tell Rashford he’s fine to leave if he’s “unhappy”. If he was in charge of incomings and outgoings you’d be in a much healthier position. In the Guardian today, the journalists are also asking Ralf if Ronaldo is “happy” at United and Ralf responds he hasn’t asked Ronaldo “if he’s happy”.

Why is a footballer’s ”happiness” such a concern to current journalists? You get paid to put your feelings to the side (to some extent) at work. I’m bored rigid reading about what players think and how they feel.

Why can’t they just do their jobs FFS?

I don‘t think there’s any chance of that happening. I think he’ll be off in the summer and his consultancy will be cancelled (probably by Ralf himself).

Absolutely no chance.

This. Unless he's contractually obligated to. I don't think he likes what he sees at this club

Absolutely love Ralph's attitude. Give the guy the keys to the club and let him go to town on the whole damn setup. No mercy.

Rangnicks comments whether on Ronaldo, Rashford or anyone are always spot on. Would be good to see someone who uses sense and rationale instead of pandering, to be given an important role upstairs. Although I can see our board feeling threatened by his honesty.

Rangnick's been like this since day one. He's made it clear before that whoever doesn't want to be at the club can leave. So that's nothing new. But the quotes are being blown out of proportion, especially after I've just watched the presser.

Wouldn't be surprised to read the headlines tomorrow claiming Rashford is taken aback by Rangnick's comments and want to leave in the summer.

I know United is it performing well under Ralf, but I like how genuine and honest he is. We need his technical brain and straightforward approach as technical director/consultant.

Those overrated overpaid primadona homegrown English players are free to leave if they want to. I hope Ralf and the club let Gashford leave if he doesn’t like it here.

Our current lot really are just Liverpool's Spice Boys all over again aren't they? :(

yup. win nothing and any team with half a bit of aggression and guile know they have them on toast. diamonds and white suits and clothing lines, stupid dances handshakes and abject failure.

At least they are having fun and keeping some PR people in clover.

money well spent.

Love this, no pandering to him, just a simple well you can feck off then

We’ll see what Rashford does, no doubt he will be back in his box and picking up his 200k a week sooner than you can click your fingers.

Just like all those England batsmen who are hitting it well in the nets but averaging 10
True,
Ronnie must be scoring free kicks for fun in training as I cannot see a reason why he would be anywhere near them on Matchday given his recent efforts.

Another young talented player that seems to have forgotten he is a football player. Shame thought he could be a really good player but his mentality and attitude has got lost along the way.

Like Roy Keane always says 'do your talking on the pitch' Rashford seems to have taken to doing his talking on twitter via his PR company. Football isn't played on twitter though. More interested in protecting his brand it seems.

Rangnick is spot on and the club need to realise that no player is bigger than the club. That stops ridiculous contact extensions and suddenly you will get players who stay because they want to be here, not because of their remuneration package. Woodward has created this mess by rewarding mediocrity for so long. How Rashford can even run to the press when his performance on the pitch has been so bad for so long is beyond me. Most United fans would be happy to see him gone based on his current form and attitude. All the English players at the club think they’re untouchable.

I dont know who would be genuinely interested obviously and I am not saying I think Maguire is a great defender mentioning that fee. I thought forgetting the fee he was the wrong signing at the time when there were a fair few very good defenders at the time.

But rightly or wrongly Maguire is Englands first choice cenre back, who had a good Euros, he is again rightly or wrongly a club captain, he has had a good career in the premiership until coming here. The likes of Wet Ham, Villa, SPurs, Everton all have the money then there is the obvious one of Newcastle who want a statement signing and a big name.

Until he wants to move or we want to sell him we just wont know, but I think there will be sides interested and I dont see how we sell him anyway under that fee when we have spent so much for him

No chance.
Ralf has done a great job exposing these players to what they are, which is a bunch of quitters when they don't get their way.
These players have thrown multiple managers under the bus and have bottled it when under any pressure.
If you want to leave, Ralf will open the door for you, on United terms, not yours.

Quality control
Rushford, Lingard, McTominay, Wan Bissaka and to an extent Smalling and Jones. Players that aren't good enough but we hung on to for far too long for many factors other than the most important one; actual footballing ability.

The idea of 'the United Way' or boys that knew the club through and through. All that fugazi, fairy dust nonsense has been a large part of our current plight.

Rushford burst on the scene as an exciting talent but his hot and cold form was put down to youth. It was all right though he was a United Lad through and through, he'll come good, be patient it's the United Way. Same with Lingard, the odd purple patch here and there and we're to ignore the fact for the vast majority of time he's below average at best. He'll come good though. United way.

Many others like it where wishy washy, airy fairy, pie in the sky nonsense was believed over what was actually happening on the pitch. Ralf or someone of his ilk is exactly what we need to be ruthless and cut that out, base the team on what they give on the pitch, not what imagined and self created criteria that's been parrroted for far too long.

PSG won't have a problem with that. And we also have to remember that Rashford is a attacker and will have a higher value than Phillips.

That's the problem though. If PSG aren't interested who's committing £125m to Rashford in this form?

To Gary's tweet:

1.) I think this is just the usual "the problem is at the board" and "the club lost his identity" stuff that's needed to say nowadays by every pundit to remain in the mainstream. Half true, but if MR reached his peak, that's it, we'll have to let him go.
2.) Very true. This team is not the galacticos, if he can't secure a spot here, then ...
3.) Harsh reality. Very true.

This is all becoming a bit of a cliché. We’ve hung onto countless players in recent times who haven’t been “United Lads” in the slightest. Mata? Bailly?

Also Smalling is an atrocious example. When it became clear the manager didn’t like him and he was going to lose his place to the mighty and magnificent Maguire he immediately asked to leave for somewhere where he could challenge for regular football; an attitude singularly lacking in the others you mention.

Yes, the tables have turned.

Liverpool have a great manager, non flashy but solid players and a winning mentality.

We churn through past it or average coaches, have a bunch of untalented spice boys with weak mentalities and a good portion of fans who are stuck in the past and are obsessed with intangibles like culture, Dna, home grown and long term.

1. 100%. If he were to be more specific and blame poor coaching and man management from both Jose and Ole then fair enough. But he won’t do that.

I love Rashford but he can do one. Who does he think he is putting this crap out to the press when he’s been playing like he has all season? Think he needs to climb down from this sharpish. Ralf has shown him up big time, I’m here for it.

Gary just bring himself to saying that his mate ruined Rashford through a combination of indulgence and over reliance on him that has led to him being burnt-out. Mental and emotional burn-out, injuries and an ego stroked to crazy heights has led to this poor form and tone deafness.

The club doesn't have a responsibility, beyond giving him time off and support which he has received, to get him back to his best, that's all on him. RR can only give him opportunities in matches to show whether he is getting back to his best and some tips on what to do. It's rather disappointing that he has chosen to create a media shit storm instead of knuckling down and we were told these are the lads who know what it means to play for this club, how ironic.

Rashford obviously has talent, and equally obviously something has gone wrong with his form/attitude/whatever, which one can only hope is fixable. It worries me that we haven't managed to turn any of the promising youth that we have developed or bought into polished first team players for a long while now, while others seem to manage it more consistently.
