The locatelli story is a beauty. Offered to Barcelona (laporta specifically) at the start of last season by the chief scout. Laporta said he's not a big enough name for Barcelona and the lad has a cracking season and his price has sky rocketed. Barcelona are still a mess.

If you look back at my posts in this thread you'd see I rate him, he's a quality player for sure. But is Veron a quality player? Sanchez before moving to us? Hazard not only been injured but it does seem he has lost his motivation as well.
Many examples of high profiled players flop terribly after moving to another team with a last big fat contract, especially after they had won everything. Even if they don't flop most of the cases they could not live up to the expectations. So far only Ronaldo is the exception I think, but he's Ronaldo.
Players are human. Even in the same league you can't be sure a quality player would shine after moving to another club let alone new league, new city, new culture, new environment.
I do hope we sign Varane, I've had enough of Lindelof too. He'll help us to give a shot for the title this season if he can give us what he did for Madrid. But I do worry over his reported wages. Around £300k would be much better I think. In case things go wrong we'd still manage to move him on instead of being stuck with another super high paid deadwood.

All figures seem very inaccurate compared to the official stats. Is there a source? Maguire wins 99% of all set piece aerials?
Or is it percentile based on %?
Varane is 45% on aerials won. That means 65% of all CBs in Europe win more aerials than him and 44% less.

It's one of those nonsensical stories. Basically in March the scouts allegedly proposed him Locatelli and he said that he couldn't do it, that it needed to be a much bigger name, the journalist speculates that Barcelona would have had him at a much cheaper fee than today. The issue with that type of nonsense is that it pretends that Locatelli was somehow only known and followed by Barcelona in March 2021 and that's after suggesting that Juventus the club that is in the same league is also interested.
