Oh wow, Varane is SERIOUS now.
'Serious about potentially moving' is a strangely worded sentence

Why was the pressure off at West Ham?Please god no... Lingard is done. A purple patch when the pressure was off at West ham proves nothing.
There’s a thread you can quote me in
Why was the pressure off at West Ham?
Because he'd been terrible at United for so long, there were no fans, they're mid table. There were basically zero expectations on him and because it's West Ham and not United teams are more likely to have a go so there's more space to play in.
He thrived, fair play to him but there's no reason at all to believe he'd be able to replicate that form again.
Nearly as good as “Ed is in the process of preparing a bid “'Serious about potentially moving' is a strangely worded sentence

I don't blame him for feeling that way when they have a still unproven 20 year old on higher wages than him and were willing to conpeltely blow up their wage structure for Alaba who's older
They need him more than he needs them right now and if they don't value him that way then I'd leave as well. A club legend like Ramos did the same even as the longtime club captain and Ronaldo did the same coming off a 3rd straight CL title when he felt disrespected by them
It's not out of the blue though like Ramos was, he's already had thoughts of leaving in recent years and we've been following and had interest in him for a decade running now. That longstanding has led us to be top of the queue now that it looks like he might finally leave.and this is exactly what has worried us all, just a play to get more money

If that nets us a CB of his caliber and profile to pair with Maguire then so be it.
I highly doubt PSG are crying any tears over strengthening their squad by signing Ramos

Sounds to me like the Madrid media have started to paint him out to be a mercenary because it’s a bit embarrassing having one of their players wanting to leave them for United for reasons other than money.Been blindingly obvious all along that he's simply trying to get a better contract offer at Madrid.

Also another way of keeping the spotlight and discussion away from them offering Alaba insane wages that no one else in Europe would've offered him to play in a position that he hates to play inSounds to me like the Madrid media have started to paint him out to be a mercenary because it’s a bit embarrassing having one of their players wanting to leave them for United for reasons other than money.
Realistic rather than optimisticthat's definitely the glass half full point of view
My concerns aren't necessarily that he's coming for the money but more that we're in for a long drawn out saga that ends in him signing a new contract at Madrid while we're left with another season of Lindelof
When anyone wants to sign for them it's because of the history, 'eritage, ambition etc. When they want to leave it's because they're mercenariesSounds to me like the Madrid media have started to paint him out to be a mercenary because it’s a bit embarrassing having one of their players wanting to leave them for United for reasons other than money.
There was a tweet earlier that we have a contingency plan in place should the Varane move not work out. We're not following the Woodward protocol anymore.
yeah the contingency is called Pau Torres
Surely Real and Barca's wage bill should be tiny if it such an privilege to play for them, rather than wildly out of control. When anyone wants to sign for them it's because of the history, 'eritage, ambition etc. When they want to leave it's because they're mercenaries

Lindelof and Torres partnershipyeah the contingency is called Pau Torres
It was tonged in cheek comment, I know they shouldn't have a tiny wage bill, players are portrayed as mercenaries because they want high wages to join us but not them. I agree Barca are by far in a worse position, Real are also trying to cut cost asking players to take wage cuts to afford a new toy.Real's wage bill isn't out of control and not comparable to Barcelona. And not their wage bill shouldn't be tiny because one of the appeal is to play with other top players, who are not cheap themselves. Real Madrid and Barcelona are the top two clubs in terms of revenue, so they can afford large wage bills, they can't afford Barcelona's board level of incompetence though.
Could confuse the opponents on cornersLindelof and Torres partnership
