Great news!
hope so. its more varane himself in this case, that could rush back to be part of the wc. but all in all i am happy he is only out for 3 pl games, that should be winable with lindelöf
Should be Kounde/Upa ?
Not so obvious with WH. They have scamacca and Antonio upfront.

Hope he's injured enough where they don't bring him.
Timing is a bit iffy. We kind of wanted it to be a slightly longer injury so he’d 100% miss the World Cup (at least the start) and recover here.
I anticipate Deschamps will take him, not only is he their best defender he’s one of the few senior leaders left at the back after injuries to key players like Pogba and Kante.
It could have happened any day.Hindsight is a wonderfully useless thing...but 2 games in 3 days was a lot to ask from Varane.
Glad it now appears to be less of an injury that won't keep him out of the WC.
I didn’t actively wish for him to miss it, just that it would’ve been preferential for us for him not to go. If he does go, I hope he plays all the games he can for France and does as well as I know he can do.Come on lads, don’t be like that. Don’t actively hope one of our players misses the World Cup. I hope France don’t rush him back before he’s ready, but if he’s ready, then I hope he goes and plays. It’s a big deal for any player to miss the World Cup, and I wouldn’t wish that on him. United or no United. People first, club second. He deserves to go to the World Cup. I am concerned they’ll rush him back and he’ll have a reoccurrence, but that’s on France to be responsible. If he has any chance of playing and is fit, then I hope he does. As a United fan I will be proud to be our best players representing their country, and I’ll be delighted for Varane if he makes it.
It’s beneath you to hope he’s too injured to play. Don’t do that.
I'm s-t with the calendar. How many games does United have before Qatar 22?
He probably would have rested for a couple of games anyway so it's not too bad. It's selfish but I would rather he miss the WC all together and work on his rehab with the club.6, of which only 3 PL - and all are winnable with or without Rafa
Sheriff -EL
West Ham - PL
Sociedad - EL
Villa - PL
Villa - EFL
Fulham - PL

and then Forest on 26 Dec
Jesus talk about an over reaction to a difference of opinionYep straight to ignore, kid.
I am not a fan of Lindelof, mostly because of his passive style. And I am a bit worried about the lack of aerial presence when Varane isn't there. Dalot and Shaw are somewhat fine, one of Casemiro or McTominay will have to play otherwise opponents will attack us with crosses I guess.Lindelof is pretty good to be honest. Not Varane quality clearly but he was good when he came on against Chelsea and I’ve always found him to be a reliable performer. I think the way ETH has us playing, the collective is more important than individuals. Putting Lindelof into that defensive unit shouldn’t pose too many issues. He is very good on the ball too, so if anything it’ll help our build out from the back. He doesn’t have the serial presence of Varane or the recovery pace but he’s a really good, solid defender IMO. If we control the game, as we have been doing, against our next three opponents, we will be fine. What worries me more is our ability to finish our chances and turn dominance into goals. In that regard Martial is the most important player we can get fit.
Very glad to hear Varane will not be out for too long. Hope for his sake he makes the World Cup, but I hope France don’t rush him back for the group games. I really hope he is fully fit come the resumption of league play on the 26th of December.
Eh, he's already won it, and it's a dumb world Cup this year that should never have happened. Mid season. I'd rather every single one of our players miss the world Cup. I hope Rashford doesn't get called up. I'd rather United don't get fecked mid season by some dumb world Cup injuries or players getting overly fatigued. Players getting a month break mid season would be huge for the 2nd half.Come on lads, don’t be like that. Don’t actively hope one of our players misses the World Cup. I hope France don’t rush him back before he’s ready, but if he’s ready, then I hope he goes and plays. It’s a big deal for any player to miss the World Cup, and I wouldn’t wish that on him. That's terrific news. I do hope he doesn't further aggravate it at the WC should he play.
Can't shake the feeling that we need another CB though. Someone in his mold even if the same current quality will be hars to find.
That’s a relief. Hopefully France don’t rush him back.
Everybody knows the risk of injuries increase when a player is not rested enough, and playing our most injury prone player 3 PL games in 7 days was not smart.Hindsight is a wonderfully useless thing...but 2 games in 3 days was a lot to ask from Varane.

If he's fit, he's an auto-pick. He's the vice-captain and the only sure starting CB when all players are available. He won’t get picked. Not with that injury record… he’s struggling to get past 2 games at this stage. Too risky when they have such good options
Umtiti had way bigger issues than this current Varane injury. This is what worries me, nothing good will come for United having an injury prone player rush back from injury to play in a tournament with a congested fixture list.
Umtiti did something similar didn't he? And has basically not featured since, it also didn't help us last year when Rashford delayed surgery to sit on the bench for England then miss the start of the season for us, then basically jogging for the rest of the season.
Either way United don't benefit from any potential outcome here.
Chelsea fans being Chelsea fans. They are scum.Good news if true.
Those chelsea fans jeering him off still has me pissed right off.
Bless you for having a sense of perspective.I’m obviously United > everything (like most of us)
but missing tournaments can damage players morale too so I hope he makes it & recovers fully for our games in January
You can bring 26 players. It's not a risk at all.He won’t get picked. Not with that injury record… he’s struggling to get past 2 games at this stage. Too risky when they have such good options
I can see him taking part in their games, IF they go out of their group.Great news, hopefully France don't take him and he can get fit for us
You sure about that? He’s arguably first choice. Can’t see them leaving his experience behind if he’s healthy. He won’t get picked. Not with that injury record… he’s struggling to get past 2 games at this stage. Too risky when they have such good options
Am I imagining this or do we seem to play villa twice on the bounce every season.6, of which only 3 PL - and all are winnable with or without Rafa
