It’s not his job to go to the media and tell everybody we need ten players. What is actually gained from it other than putting it all on the players and absolving himself of any responsibility?

Is it unreasonable that Garner, Mengi and Hannibal become more regular parts of the first team squad? And 4 or 5 signings (absolutely reasonable in my book), gives us 7-8 new players in the squad for next season.

With regard to where we are today I think it's what needs to be done, yes.
With regards to the top 4, maybe we're just not good enough. Maybe not making it was inevitable. Personally I can't believe how close we are and you'd think that even with a mediocre manager we could beat Everton, so yeah, I don't know.

I don’t disagree with the idea that we need a lot of changes. I do disagree with the notion we can’t expect better with what we’ve got or that Rangnick isn’t currently making matters worse. Maybe it will transpire that we do make ten new signings and it will all be because of Rangnick spouting off. I won’t hold my breath on that though.
But what has Rangnick done to deserve such backing. He’s getting paid millions and he’s failing at his job just like they are. Literally anybody could tell the media United are shite. I’d happily do it for half the money.
