Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

This whole experiment was a waste of time. If he's added solidity, it's at the expense of attack. We'd likely be in the same exact place in the league with Ole in charge.
We'd likely be higher. Hard to have done much worse with the fixtures he's had. We've got harder games to come.

The players have stopped listening to the manager. This was reported by an extremely credible source.

And yet here we are, again, blaming the manager. Good one.

The manager's responsibility is to get the players to perform to their potential through improving them in training and tactics.

It really is that simple.

Any manager that takes over mid-season is taking over because the team is struggling so using that to excuse this performance is laughable.

Then you're being daft. The players had long stopped listening to the manager. Look at the root of the problem.

Rubbish in attack, rubbish at the back, very little change tactically and a bunch of unmotivated players. Yeah, Rangick hasn’t been a very good appointment.

I just hope he starts playing kids for remaining matches. The players have downed tools as usual. Bench these overpaid prima donas.

Can we have Ole back until the end of the season?

We've been swindled by a pair of glasses.

Its not that simple, because if the manager doesn't have the control on the squad then hes basically asked to juggle with an arm behind his back.

Hes here for 6 months, the players dont listen to him, he cant buy his own players and his own style takes a lot of time to work even when squads buy into it.

Fan comment from the Beeb, I think it sums up the situation:

"Hiring an interim manager with so much of the season to play is proving to be such a bad decision. The players aren't playing for Rangnick, the board didn't back Rangnick. The club gave up on the season, now the players have. Can see empty seats long before the season ends."

No manager would be. The players dont listen.
Evaluate the root of the problem rather than blindly putting primary blame on the manager.

And who would you pick? Since you're the beacon of knowledge and know that other players would perform better than those on the pitch?

As I said earlier:

He isn't building for the future. If he was playing some kids and not getting results he'd be getting a free pass from most fans. But he's not doing that.

That Mata sub, when you've got a player like Hannibal on the bench proves how short-sighted this guy is. You don't have to be a beacon of knowledge to understand that Mata hasn't been relevant for years and won't be relevant going forward.

A player like Hannibal? Hes not played in the league before. You haven't seen him in training.

That's it alright. Blow it up, ref. Roll on August.

This is why there should be a director of football though, who sees that the players are not listening to the manager and simply ships them out if they do. Its not good enough for employees of the club.

The latest in a long series of non sensical decisions by the club

His skill is in rebuilding clubs, and implementing a playing philosophy, not delivering a short term goal in pragmatic style (which is normally the point of a caretaker manager)

He was never going to implement his philosophy in six months, but more importantly the demands he imposed on this group of charlatans were never going to be met in the context of him being a short term appointment.

He could have maybe gotten away with it if he had an ounce of charisma, and could rule by fear to an extent, a short term strategy certainly but perhaps workable - but not a chance this squad are intimidated or inspired by him.

If we get the next managerial decision right it will be by complete fluke, we’re run by idiots.

It's not the manager.. Its the players.

It was the previous manager who was allowed to build this collection of players and allow this attitude to fester. If people are using this as some kind of excuse to defect the blame from Ole it's not going to stick.

About as effective as his chancellor. Not good enough. Hopefully he gets shafted upwards for a real manager.

Talks the talk... and that's it. If he has any common sense he will drop most of this squad and play the kids until the end.

Has he been a good appointment or not?
Hes who I would want if the time was reversed. Because of what hes going to take upstairs after evaluating this shower of shite.

There was no one else as caretaker who was more of a sure thing. These players would have fecked over all the choices.

The players are a disgrace, but Rangnick has been awful. We rarely look like scoring under him.

Play some of the youth players at least, give us something to look forward to. Football is awful under him, teams selections are odd and his subs uninspiring.

Ole has done more damage to the club than 3rd year toxic Mourinho ever did.

Conte should've been the one

Where did all those people go who would never shut up about patterns and style of play? What do they think of the turd we have been served up in the last few months. Its getting to a point where i wonder if we kept Ole would he have stabilised it and done better than this? Shocking

Say what you will but we would have finished the season better had we kept Ole; history has proved that we could bounce back from bad spells and counter them with good ones. The few good elements we had under him are gone and there is nothing there to replace them.

I trust RR as a football man but as a manager and coach he is bad. We are at our lowest point since Mourinho's last season imo but with players that should do much better.

But he wouldn't get a 'free pass' by playing kids, football is a results based business. If you're not winning then you're under massive scrutiny, if we were losing and playing youngsters, people would be suggesting he should be playing the more experienced players.

This is down to the players and players alone, Rangnick isn't the one controlling the ball and making loose passes from player to player.

I don't understand why we needed to sack Ole and assign Ralf. Everything has gone from bad to worse
I rate Rakf 1 and Ole 5, hope we get a 8 or 9 next, this has been a Shakespeare parodi.

Conte should've been the one
No he shouldn't. We did the right thing by doing a caretaker and having ETH. Conte would likely feck off after 2 years and leave a squad not suitable for the next manager.
