Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

All the kneejerk posters in here, not sure what he's supposed to do when VAR is stopping us winning matches, we should have been 3-0 up at half time

Forever making excuses for him

Is it still kneejerk when people are saying the same after EVERY game?

Ralf has been horrible so far, but he is still better than Ole. Ralf is never going to be our permanent manager unless Cafe has their way  poch vs Ralf thread. Ralf has been a complete failure as a manager that I am now questioning his abilities as a consultant

What are you even talking about? What is he supposed to do when crappy VAR decisions stop us from going 3-0 up and horrendous finishing stop us from going at least 5-0 up in the previous match? If you can't see the improvement in the general play at least from Ole I'm not sure what to say to do

Despite the past two results I think the performances have at least been better than some of his early matches, where we got the wins but played shite. Perhaps clutching at straws but I've seen some improvements to our game.

You again I see. I'm not making excuses for him, i've said before he hasn't been great and don't want him to become permanent manager, but our general play has improved since we were managed by Ole with these bunch of mentally weak players, what is he supposed to do about the last 2 matches

The Lingard for Scott sub and playing with Pogba as a one man midfield for 10 minutes has done it for me.

He's a clown and awful coach. Even as an interim he has been shit Get him out.

Another shit appointment by our hopeless club.
If it had been a goal, you would have marked him as a genius. The exact thing happened with West Ham. We took off a mid , brought a forward and then we scored. Ralf was a genius.

Substitutions after 80th min shouldn't judge someone's ability. It's just throwing a kitchen sink hoping it will hit the bulls eye.

Might as well have kept Ole. Crap results against crap teams is no different. United haven't played any good teams so far and have struggled mightily against the heavyweights of Burnley, Norwich, etc.

The same thing happened to Liverpool’s team when they were adjusting to his higher energy style of play. They’d fade out in the second half. We need to let them get used to it. Besides today was entirely on Maguire.

I really don’t rate him at all.
At least this run of diabolical results will mean that he won’t be the permanent manager.

The game should have been over by half time. If peps city were in the positions we were in in the first half, they would have scored three. Rashford twice and cavani both opted to shoot rather than pass/cross.

Players are still too greedy. Going for their own glory rather than the collective.

Having said that we badly lost control in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

What a charlatan this man is. The weird cult of the manager continues. Bar 30 mins there and 15 mins there, the performances have been no worse than Ole's.

Playing with Pogba, out of all midfielders in the squad, as a one man midfielder for 10 whole fecking minutes is stupid no matter how you look at or try to justify it.

There’s definitely an improvement since he came in, but this squad is difficult to work with. Too many high risk players and not enough technical players that can control the game.

The most important thing is that we played well, for 60 minutes atleast, against Boro.

And still lost.

Yeah, because under ole everything was OK. Let's pretend Liverpool and Watford didn't trash us

YES

Because we are being robbed. That's not to say we are smashing teams apart, but on merit we deserved to win the last 2 games.

Not really. We needed a win and McT was injured. So that was a justified move.

Stop being a knee jerk and get the context .

I suppose we are just gonna have to suck it up till summer and hopefully he shows his worth when he moves to his consultancy role.

Hes definitely not the man to get the permanent job.

He's really fecking good. Terribly unlucky in the past 2 games.

At least these results rule him out of the job. The fact that he gave Maguire his captaincy back. Zero balls.

Huge improvement under this manager. Some shocking decisions against us as well. Personally, I’ld give him the gig and plenty of ££s

He is getting more slack than he deserves in my opinion. But I don’t think it is his fault same as it probably wasn’t any of our last four managers’ fault either.

United are not like other clubs. The pressure is off the scale. Winning every game is the bare minimum. Until the owners see it like it is, we’re going to stumble along sacking managers every couple of years and gradually dropping down the league.

Next manager needs to be given City-style money for three straight transfer windows.

I’m not sure how much Ralf can contribute unless he’s got £200m to donate.

Come on, I wanted Ralf in too but this left-field choice of ours has gone quite abit sh*t.

I'm not sure why people are discussing him like a permanent manager, he's doing OK but he he's not going to turn us into a title winning side as manager within 2 months.

He's a stopgap pure and simple yet people discuss him like he's our manager for the 4 years.

I agree with you but I do reckon this is one of the most notable improvements I've seen since he came in, the players are being less greedy. It's just gonna take time they are still recovering from the 'Sheewwwt' philosophy.

I'm sorry but its all a case of the emperors new clothes with this guy. This was a typical game that we would've had under Ole the only difference is we would've been shite in the first half going a goal down then improve in the second.

Have we even had a comfortable game under him so far? Every game seems like a battle and a drag. The players have been getting pelters since Ole was sacked but Ralf is every bit as average as the current level of the team.

Oh god I do feel for Ralf, we really should have won today given our chances.

I do think he’s improving us, unfortunately the points aren’t going on the board.

Yeah its almost like Klopp doesn't surrender control in any of his games for periods.

We are improving. But maybe it's a bit too late. Should have taken off Rashford earlier.

Under a proper manager we would be up 3-0

I dont understand, are you saying a proper manager would have overruled VAR? That's some manager. I want a better permanent manager too, I just don't find it fair to lay the blame on him for the last 2 matches

Hard to tell at this point. Our overall play is better but still most of the old problems are there. Poor mentality, and a lot of underperforming players. I've never seen a united squad with so many players out of form.

Not really. We needed a win and McT was injured. So that was a justified move.

Yes. It's justified to play the rest of the game without an actual midfield and expecting the ball to miraculously reach the attackers on its own.

Knee jerk indeed. We have just dropped points to the 20th team in the league.

No, it was awful just like it is now, except Ralf has only faced bad teams so far. It'll get worse once we play anyone decent.
