We’re going for Ten Hag. 100%.

No way we would commit to this if we were waiting on Poch
To be honest with you, I wouldnt be surprised if discussions were already privately held with Ajax and VDS. The two clubs have a respectful relationship.

My favourite choice for the interim by far. And considering that he is then gonna have a role in the club for 2 further years, it makes it even better.

Seems that Murtough knows what he is doing after all. I was actually a bit surprised with Murtough wanting him, considering that Rangnick might eye his job, but it seems that they have very good relationship.

You love to see it. Really hate that clown.

He is probably the worst journalist around. 9/10 he is wrong and then comes up with some convenient excuse as to why it never happened like he said it would.

As for RR, if everything gets signed it’ll be interesting to see how much freedom he will be given to fix your club.

He turned Chelsea down which is good enough for me. He was also in the running for the England job. It was between him and big Sam for the next manager and the feckwits of the FA....well, you know what happens next.

Sir Gareth of Southgate was born

Genuinely keen to see if he can make some of our mediocre players punch above their weight class.

This club loves extremes. We went frons :hugs: and :smiles: to a tactical genius

Really curious to see how involved he'll be during the 2 year consultancy and whether he'll report directly to Ed or to Murtough. To me that's the more interesting part than taking over as interim.

No clue what to expect. Anyone daring to predict which players profit from this appointment and which don't?
High line press resistant football, with strict lines and speed - so all who can manage that are fine under him and will thrive.

Why many are so excited that much? Can you tell us more about this guy! Has he won something big ? Or managed a top side?

I saw few didn’t want Valverde although he won la liga and the C.L but cheer for this guy? Yes his famous interview was really top notch and he is surely has some ideas to implement but why all the fuss about?
He has done this stuff before at other clubs, and was in the process now, and has done some very exciting things. He is a very disciplined, forward thinking, manager and he was leading the Schalke team we beat. His methods, desires in football, and his desires of extraction from within a team are exactly what we lack. His focus is on the things we're lacking on, with that being:
1- Focus on set peices
2 - The transition from attack, to defence, back to attack
3 - The raised tempo of a group press without limiting creativity as he has said he doesn't advocate backwards/sideways passing
4 - Dealing with the high pressing teams as well as those who defend

He is very competent.

Those who are willing to commit to pressing as a group, direct football with no hesitancy, risk takers and disciplined players will thrive.

Donny, Sancho and Bruno probably then? Maybe Rashford?

Yeah it’s a really good move, I think it will be beneficial both on and off the pitch. I enjoy listening and reading to his views on football, and I like that your club is going to retain him afterwards in a consultancy role. As well as being beneficial to United I also think it’ll be very advantageous to whoever it is who comes in as the permanent manager, as he’ll have had time to assess the situation and give them a good insight.

Yeah, also looks like he will play a role in which coach we will hire next. One more positive is (yeah i'm looking for positives) we won't be doing any short term deals just to get through this season. He will be part of the club for next 2.5 years so he might play good enough role in shaping the squad.

Will be interesting to see how the work rate changes for few of our attackers, especially Rashford, Greenwood and Sancho.

Wow I am shocked, that sounds like great business.

Rangnick as interim manager and then moving into a higher position plus Ten Hag in the summer was my personal pipe dram. If we can pull this off I will never say something bad about our board :D

It's more about the idea that he is, yes a good manager that did some good things with lesser teams in the Bundesliga and can be considered to be the kind of "mentor" to the likes of Klopp Tuchel, Nagelsmann, Hassenhutl etc. But more than that he is probably better at steering a club from top to bottom, what you should be more excited about is the consultency job afterwards, because not only are the likes of Murtogh etc going to learn alot from this guy, the only reason we must be giving him this deal is because we finally realise that if we are to modernise and become a serious football club again, we have to give some control over to actual footballing personalities, and not just have Ed Woodward do everything. With Murtogh and now Rangnick i can see our club FINALLY joining the modern era of football clubs within the next couple of seasons, rather than languishing in the past on outdated ideas with people who don't have footballing expertise.

He also has a very entertaining style of football which means that with him making decisions we most likely won't be seeing pragmatic or outdated managers at this club, at least for the forseeable anyway, which is only a good thing to me

Love how in the video above he states that 30% of goals are connected to set pieces, so then asks the room, 'so how much of our training time should be devoted to set pieces?'.....they all sit there like dumbass school kids....he's not talking rocket science but might as well be to that audience. Hopefully our lot can catch on a bit quicker!
Judging by the last few years, our players' first question would be "what's a set piece?"

He was elected as an executive member of the ECA, of course he is well connected and respected.
Yeah, I have seen you speak about this in other threads and find it a bit baffling people think he's just some sort of finance monkey.
Im hearing it was Murdoch who was in charge of this stuff.
Where?
He’s done a good job for 12-18 months IMO. He’s only going because he was against the Super League.
I think he's learnt considerably from some massive failings previously and has done a much better job since - in the period you've mentioned.
