Ralf Rangnick | Austria manager

Bayern surely aren't that stupid are they? Unless they're hiring him as some kind of director. As a coach he's Bundesliga 2 standard.

what does that last line mean? "if bayern wants me, they are in such deep shit that i shouldn't go" or "if bayern wants me, why am i coaching stupid austria?"

I think it just means if Bayern wants him he'll think about it

This would be very interesting, so I hope it happens. Was truly awful as a manager for us, but I don't hate the guy and would be interesting to see how he does at Bayern.

Unfairly judged by his time at united considering how much leeway tem hag has had where as ragnick did not have the luxury of being able to rebuild with 100's millions and moving the toxic ronaldo on

He was saying what everyone was thinking at the time. And he was right.
I dont get the hate too.

I want this to happen, just because all the Bayern fans were wankers when we first appointed him here. Hopefully he's just as weirdly candid in his press conferences in Germany.

Really hope he gets the job and he has a blinder of a season with them. I've stuck in the camp that he was given a no-win situation with an incredibly toxic squad and has since received dog's abuse by this forum as well as being clowned by the media, including TalkSport.

No manager in the world could have salvaged the season he walked into.

Didn’t he give up a full time job to be United manager for 6 months?
Yes, but I think that was more that he just wanted to be a manager again. Would be different now, leaving the Austria job where he can really do as he likes to join Bayern. I just don't expect him to be willing to do that if he can't really be sure of getting the support he likes to do that job.

Pretty sure most half decent managers would have done a bit better, considering he was taking over the team who finished 2nd in the best league in the world then went on to finish 3rd immediately after.

Never seen a manager talk such a good game. After his first few press conferences, he me thinking he would revolutionize football, not just United. Amazingly, even in his darkest days he continued with his schtick. You have to respect the grift, I meant graft.

We’ll see. From bayerns perspective I can’t see why they’d make this appointment unless it was a one year deal (or two year deal with a break clause for example)

I don't disagree. I actually hope they mess up

We laughed about you for hiring him and are now crying since the same shit seems to be happening to us. Or what were you refering to?

I'm loving this. I like him but don't particularly like Bayern in Germany. If he does well then Ralf will be praised, if he doesn't Bayern do sh*t and that's fun too.

To be fair they are all wankers in general so ccan't really blame them jn this case.

Lwts get some perspective we finished 3rd the following season after spending 200+ million and got rid of ronaldo circus, pogba was gone as well and ragnik had no hope as the players knew he was temporary in charge, where as ten hag was employed as permanent manager and got a full pre season

I'm not sure I'm buying that. We've seen some temporary managers do quite well in the past. Actually, Solskjaer did well as caretaker - and our form dropped just about the moment he became permanent.

Is he going to say that Bayern needs 11 new players or else it is just a midtable club?

Being manager for ManUtd in that time and being manager for Bayern Munchen is something different. Bayern Munchen have pretty much been institution for long, long time. Even if there have been problems inside the club it never reached that level where you selfdestroy. While we have been taken over by instagramians and tiktokers that used our club as platform to boost their own image. Hopefully those days are gone, even if we are struggling at the moment. Rangnick is a very educated man and knows football very well.

Would not rule Klopp out. One year to recharge then to take over from Ragnick.
Yeah this is what I was thinking

Not the worst thing for Rangnick anyway. If he regains Bayern the league title (which you’d very much expect) then he leaves with his flowers and won’t struggle to find another good club job

On the other hand, Hoeneß has just made it perfectly clear he'll reinforce his influence on sporting matters, and whoever incurs his disapproval will be in trouble. Rangnick has certainly noticed this. Will be very interesting (and potentially funny) to see how this pans out if he takes the job.

Would be even more funny if he actually declines the Bayern job now.
