Raiola: "I can say that it's over for Pogba at United"

Oh no, quick. Somebody post the those pointless stat folder tweets from 2017.
I don’t really get the reference tbh. But his point just seemed to be that, when recruiting, clubs use those metrics, at least in part and it would be difficult to make a sporting case for signing him at the price he’d be expected to fetch.

the whole thing just seems off to me, it was literally less than 6 months ago that Raiola said he was happy again, now all of a sudden he isn't happy and wants out? he's been injured pretty much since then.. the more i think about it and with his recent comments about Haaland etc, i think it's much more likely that this is all pressure from Raiola because he wants to move his players around for a payday before they potentially bring in agent fee caps.
Pogba even posted on insta displaying his desire to win with United, that's a strange standpoint for a player that wants out at any cost

Pogba, who doesn’t want to be at United as much as we want, is still a United homegrown player who likes United as a club and has friends here. Dybala is a player who loves Juventus, has said it multiple times, and was very annoyed with a transfer to us last time. That’s why his demands were high, and the issue with the image rights were never solved. Because he doesn’t want to leave. Such a player is even a bigger issue then Pogba. It’s easier to convince Paul to extend the contract then to convince Dybala to be committed to us. That tells you all about the craziness of this swap.
Ohhhhh right.... OK!!!

Then he should sack his agent. All the club statements mean nothing while he still has Raiola has his agent.

I’ve no idea why footballers chose to align themselves with greedy feckin idiots like these agents, I mean why?

Are they that inept at looking after themselves that they can’t pick up the phone and thrash a deal out with an existing or prospective club?

Do they really need to let these parasites earn tens of millions that they could pocket themselves just to haggle on their behalf?

I find it pathetic that grown men can’t negotiate without this fat greasy Cnut sat beside them.

Now step back from yourself, and consider the fact that maybe there's a very good reason why some of the top names in football work for agents like that. Players are informed enough to know what's best for them, and they get agents. So it might be confusing to you or I who are just fans on the sideline, but you can't be so thick to not at least recognize there's gotta be reasons beyond them not looking after themselves as to why they would give up a percentage of their multi-million deals to a 'greedy feckin idiot'.

feck off you fat twat

Backtracking now because all his prospected buyers expressed zero interest since he made his last public statement. So now trying to get fans back onside til the summer.
Reading even some of the posts immediately above, his fanboys will lap it up as some form of ‘commitment’ from Pogba the virus.

No I disagree. Normal people make business decisions every day, a lot of people do, there’s nothing overly clever about that.

You don’t need a degree to ask for more money. But a naive man can be fooled out of his own money.

I get that they ‘have connections’ but top footballers like Pogba would have clubs hounding him, not the other way around.

I think this is why we are seeing some players employ their own family as agents rather than scum like this guy.

How the club and more our manager not responded to this bag of shit is baffling. Just take your fecking player and feck off.

Problem is it isn't just dealing with clubs, my guess is agents organise everything, down to who washes his cars etc.

Like it or not footballers are nothing more than babies, I cant imagine how hard some stars would find it if they somehow lost their millions (harder to happen these days as agents do their job by hooking their clients up with sound financial advisors - Well all but Eboue).

The reaction to Raiola’s antics on this place always amuses me. Where were you when he threw chair at Dortmund to get Mkhitaryan here? This is what he does, and we should’ve expected it when getting in bed with him. If our preparation and performance are affected by the mouthing off from a bloke known for mouthing off, then we have bigger issues than Mino fecking Raiola.

I don’t get why people get so upset about what Raiola says.

It literally doesn’t effect anything. Pogba is still putting in effort, if the players are bothered by a players agent they need to get a grip of themselves.

Agents are spokespersons for the player, so it's as good as coming directly from the horses mouth. Vocally pushing to leave midway through a tight fixture list is disruptive, this shouldn't really need to be explained.

Hypothetically what can United do in this situation?

Recently Rio commented on how United should have stamped it out! or something to that affect...but I'm not sure Ole or Woody have any power in this case.

Raiola comes as a prick but if he's being like that it comes down to Pogba and from what I've seen of him at United is part of the reason I don't want for Zidane to sign him up. He's good player but overhyped in my view and I get he's not quite satisfied with how United are strafing without any direction, ambition or plan but I still don't like his attitude towards his team.

either that or United have said they will refuse to do a deal in January cos we won’t get a replacement.

because we play the game as much as him. We might not be as loud or as obnoxious but I’m sure we’ve pushed our weight around in deals.

feck off you fat twat

So, it´s just Raiola´s tongue running away with him, then. If Pogba is not pushing for a move in January, Raiola actually did a lot of damage to his client saying he´s done at United, when there is plenty of time left. Makes no sense, and looks more like a slip of the tongue. I don´t think there could be any strategy behind that.

While some of this might be true, it's not really something he can complain about given that he's been our 6th best midfielder this season and nowhere near good enough to be starting games.

Aw FFS don’t tell me we actually want to get rid of him in January but ironically they are holding out for a more lucrative summer move.

This needs to end now.

Yeah I've actually felt sorry for Pogba, the club isn't what he was promised that Summer with Mourinho and Zlatan coming in; however that said....

My stance has completely changed since Bruno came in and showed, that actually, a top class footballer with the right drive will make it work wherever he plays, even in an imperfect team and with imperfect managers. If Pogba can't play to those standards then he's not quite the player I thought he was.

His agent is an arsehole and as far as "spokesman for the player" is concerned, I don't believe that, but I do believe you sign up with the prick knowing that these are his methods, you have to just accept them and he'll always "look after you", and the only way to stop him is to sack him. His players seem to love him though and "blah blah blah" is actually the closest I've ever heard anyone to say "don't listen to that arsewipe".

I do believe Pogba wants to leave in the Summer and will do just that, which at this point is probably best for all parties.

Bit like selling a house. You can get rid of any property if you’re willing to drop the price.
The decision to do this will have to take into account both tangible items like the positive wage bill impact, the marketing value and image rights, the cost of any replacement and also intangibles such as the change in dressing room atmosphere and freeing up of management time to get back to the day job.

Translation. No one is interested/has the money.

This has been Pogba's problem for few years now. Every offer we have got for him last few years was comical. No one really think he's worth as much money as Raiola thinks. The hype around him has died long time ago, he's not the same player he was when he was at Juve.

Clubs should not pay agents fee's period.

It's pathetic and it's time all clubs signed up to a charter on transfers.

Players should start paying the fee's and then they will really see how much money they will be losing out on due to greed.

Pogba is unhappy is not the issue but the way how he handled this is the issue. How is Pogba allowing his agent to dictate things and trolling the club and the whole team? He’s either not smart that he doesn’t realise it or this is actually what he wants, creating drama & killing the mood of the team.

Greedy agents will keep pushing for their clients to keep moving clubs to get a cut of the commission. Even if the player is ambivalent about it. Raiola is getting anxious because Pogba has probably one last big transfer in him based on age. As long as Pogba says he is committed and actually puts in the effort to play well for United, I am ok. This is life.

They absolutely love him, both zlatan and Haaland expressed their love for him on social media

Because football players aren't educated in negotiations.

Just remember we are all extremely biased towards the club's side. We want what is best for the club - and this includes getting rid of players as soon as they are not deemed good enough. For example, most on here think DDG is done and should've never gotten that big contract. But what about the year's of service when we were absolute shite and he was the best GK in the world? Should he not be rewarded for that?

Clubs are for profit entities, and at the end of the day they will pay a player less than their worth if the player accepts. Clubs have suits running the show, and these suits are a lot more business savvy than a 25 year old with no formal higher education. If I was a player, I'd 100% have an agent - these players need to be out for themselves over their very short careers.
