Raiola: "I can say that it's over for Pogba at United"

It's all a bit sad.

United fans and seemingly club officials are 'over' the Pogba circus. We don't seem arsed about him extending his deal at all.
Raiola is apparently doing his best to engineer a move. But none of the big clubs are biting, certainly not for the financial figures suggested.
Pogba seems to think his play over the last 2 seasons justifies a move to one of the European giants. His press conferences where he alludes to 'dreams' and 'being happy' are a bit pathetic, really.

The result is a loveless marriage between player and club. I hope we can divorce ourselves from Pogba as soon as possible, for everyone's sakes.

I think a swap for Dybala is a strong possibility. It's a good way for Woodward to cover up the loss he has made on Pogba

It’s the opposite of sad. Finally we sell a player that has done nothing for our club. The sooner we get rid and reinvest the better. Imagine being surprised that the guy who employ Raiola, pays him millions yearly, has instructed him before he went public.

That's a shocking idea. The guy rejected us last year, the last thing we want to do is to replace Pogba with another player that doesn't want to come here and forced to come here. We don't need to worry about the loss on Pogba, get rid, learn from mistake and move on.

I don’t get all the Juve talk. Given how much they paid for CR7 the other year and post COVID, are they really going to be able to pay £50m for Pogba (which I think is a realistic figure).
Do Juve really have the funds to buy him and then pay his astronomical wages? I’m not sure.
Dybala and CR7 are going to be banded around but I doubt either are interested in the move. We should steer well clear of Dybala anyway.

He didn't reject it, deal fell through because of image rights issue. Dybala almost joined Spurs after that.
But yes we should stay clear of him as he hasn't been the player he was ( could be because of Covid) and also I am not sure if he will fit into our system.

Sad: causing or characterized by sorrow or regret; unfortunate and regrettable.

Yeah, it definitely is sad. Your point is true too, they are not contradictory :)

Selling him for a bag of peanuts and cranberries would be good business from us.

Getting rid of him and his agent would be worth it.

While we're at it, get rid of the other leeches, Jones, Rojo, Lingard, Ighalo, Bailly, Romero, Grant....(not all of them leeches but still).

Snatch Van der Sar for a dof, get an attacking high pressing coach instead of Ole and all of this just might be worth it in the long run.

Let Raiola get good money for him or let him rot on the bench.
We're one of the very few clubs that still has the means in this Covid economy to be able to pay his salary without a loss.

Loyalty bonus  :wenger:

Spouting nonsense because Man Utd fans will click on anything that says Pogba if only to abuse him.

I know this is not the Twitter transfer rumour thread. But blacklisted sources like indaykaila should not be anywhere on this forum

I think he will end up at Real Madrid, they are the only ones in need of a B2B midfielder with Modric getting older.

They wanted him years ago and would have paid up to 100mil I guess. I believe no other club could afford him or has the need for this kind of player. I thought about Juve but their midfield is overloaded.
If Juve gets rid of Ramsey you could speculate about it. But going back to a former team when you aren't over your peak looks like you failed which in Pogbas case is true.

Athletic say industry consensus on Pogba is the £40 million mark but Raiola’s strategy, is to spread disharmony so we calculate the economics are better to get rid whatever the fee.

He'll just spin it off as us not meeting his expectations which is why he returned to Juventus who's a better team than us.

Can we just do an Oil with him? I would rather see Riaola throw a hissy fit he didn't get his way

It's a messy situation, but I think burying him and waiting 10 million years for his remains to turn to thick black sludge is a bit extreme.

Andy Mitten was on Off The Ball during the week and he mentioned that he’d asked some people at other clubs about Pogba and the consensus was that by all statistical metrics clubs use Pogba doesn’t feature anywhere near the top and certainly nowhere near the top 5 level which is what his value would suggest.

I'll say the same thing I said when Juve were linked with de Light and nobody thought they could afford him. They have been incredibly shrewd for many years in their spending and have rebranded themselves into a more attractive club for the casuals too. On top of this, they continuously win trophies (for many years with a minimal spend) and do well enough in the CL, which they qualify for every year. They can easily afford Pogba.

Let’s hope so then.

He’s going to get an awful lot less than he thought he was going to get here at his next club.

Dead right. He’s been mostly shit and disruptive. Even his biggest fan can’t deny that

Not if he goes for a miniscule free or even free he won't.
Even a relatively mediocre player like Ramsey was supposedly trousering 350-400k a week having gone for free.

 damn autocorrect but still, it's an extreme I'd consider worthwhile

Apparently pogba will be leaving in January on loan with an obligation to buy. Either PSG, Madrid or Juventus. According to Duncan Castles.

€65mil was mentioned as a possible fee.

That would not be a bad deal in this market for a player that really doesn't want to be here despite protestations to the contrary.

His Instagram post is the most disingenuous, self-serving dose of shite imaginable. Best for everyone that he toddles off. It’s hard to think of a £89m footballer leaving a club having made so little impact.

Oh he’s made impact alright, just not in a positive way

For something to be over, it needs to have a start in the first place.

This is clearly Riola trying to put pressure on Utd to accept a low ball offer.. from anyone. Which top club is going to offer anything north of £30m for him at this point?

Dybala will be another Pogba. Pogba is more United than Dybala so that tells you it’s exactly the kind of players we should not get, especially now that Ole has set a template.

Can you explain this bit. Can't understand
Pogba, who doesn’t want to be at United as much as we want, is still a United homegrown player who likes United as a club and has friends here. Dybala is a player who loves Juventus, has said it multiple times, and was very annoyed with a transfer to us last time. That’s why his demands were high, and the issue with the image rights were never solved. Because he doesn’t want to leave. Such a player is even a bigger issue then Pogba. It’s easier to convince Paul to extend the contract then to convince Dybala to be committed to us. That tells you all about the craziness of this swap.

Oh no, quick. Somebody post the those pointless stat folder tweets from 2017.
