Raheem Sterling

Hes been fantastic, but whats also helping him is the quality of players around him.

Agree totally. Looks like a shadow of the city player when he puts on an England shirt.

But so did Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Ferdinand, Terry, Scholes etc. The only consistently outstanding performers for England in the last 15 years or so was Beckham and Ashley Cole. So you can’t criticise Sterling for that. He is top class this season and if he played for United we would all be oozing over him.

Becoming a real leader for them, steps up in important moments. For all the shit he gets, he's a terrific player.

Plus, if we hype him maybe he'll crack under the pressure.

Wise decision it was in the end not to ship him off to Arsenal as part of the Sanchez deal, otherwise this wouldn't be happening and he wouldn't be flourishing like he is now under Pep.

Ferdinand? Are you unwell?

I'd also say Campbell was class for England, and Gary Neville pretty good too.

I don't think I've ever heard a player sound so knackered in a post-match interview. He must have run his arse off.

Having an unbelievable season in terms of goals but I can't help shift the opinion that what he's doing for City would be the equivalent of Lingard doing it for us simply because I really don't rate Sterling that much

Probably the main reason it's annoying me all these late goals City get because it's their least talented attacking player getting them

You win tournaments with a good defence. If Ferdinand Campbell and Neville all played great for England then why did we not win anything? All 3 played together for England.

Rashford and Martial should improve like he did. Hate to say but he has a tremendous time, God may it NOT continue:devil:

Did you ever see our goalkeepers, midfield or attack?

Least talented comparatively to Sane, Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero and Jesus yes, but talented all the same. He’s had 170 PL appearances between City and Liverpool and he’s only 22, quite incredible really.

He's already having his best ever goal scoring season and we aren't even at the halfway point yet. Pep has really improved him and he's been fantastic this season.

Didn't see the game, but noticed another two goals for him.

He's third top scorer in the league but constantly misses tap ins. Literally every game he puts an open goal over the bar. How has he scored so many

Finishing was offl today, really should have had at least 2 before the late tail ins but his overall game was still decent today just his finishing was abysmal

Probably didn't get the connection he wanted for the goal, but if you look at the replay again, initially, he was going to go with his right foot, until he saw (i think it was) Yedlin sliding in, and last second changed to his left foot. Really good finish, matched by a fantastic run. Super ball from De Bruyne too.

good players get themselves into that many positions to miss and score.

Serious question, why does he run like that? Looks like he's constantly got problems with his hips.
Inherited it from his mother.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/man-cit...e-runs-like-his-mum/b6bmngyfmylj152ylydyez64g

"My mum went to my little brother's sports day and she sent me a clip of her running and I thought, 'Ok, that's where I get it from!'", he told talkSPORT.

"I'd never seen her run before. It's my mum. Don't laugh but yeah. Before she had my sister she was in the Jamaica athletics team when she was young.

"I don't think my running style is something to pass on though, I'll take all the laughter myself."

Someone have a gif/video of this miss? Didn’t catch it.

He's an odd player to watch. Right at the point in a game where you'd say "How is he getting in this team?", he normally pops up with a goal. Not this time, of course.

Loved him missing this sitter. Looks like a bit of karma caught up to him after his constant diving and cheating over the past 2 years I guess he wasn't pointing to the sky after that pathetic attempt at a finish!

Happens to even the best of players, i remember Ronaldo missing 1 similar at United.

Yeah because Iheanacho is not able to bench Okazaki and Sterling only has played a part in 25 goals this season. Iheanacho would clearly be more useful.

Easily the worst opinion/comment I've read in Caf history unless you're being sarcastic, then its great.

My comment about Iheanacho is a separated comment, nothing to do with Sterling (I should have made it clearer).
I am sure Nacho will be starter next season.

Sterling numbers this season is very good, maybe better than Sané(goals+assists) but I feel a player like Mahrez would have had similar numbers or even better because the way City play.

There's the old Sterling I know. God knows how he's gone on this rich goalscoring form. But old habits die hard.
