Me too - I think the rebirth of RATM has reinvigorated all my teenage angst and I forgot how much fun being young and angry used to be - SO feck OFF YOU WUMMING BASTARD :D

Here is a tune to calm us all down ...

Ayone here like Pendulum?
It's ok as they're signed with Warner so Sony won't make any money

pipe down you!!

I heard one of their tunes once in a record shop, quite liked it, asked who it was and bought the album.

I got the album home and absolutely hated it. Haven't listened to it since.

Hold your colour?

Your so naive pogue....so naive....

Everyone here is, they all can't see how all they've done is feed the machine they're meant to be raging against under the believe that they've proved something.

Actually thinking about it, pendulums albums are shit, it's there live stuff this year i've liked. Thank god they signed with Warner and allowed them to be more involved in the producing as they've improved their sound this year. On a plus side buying Pendulum records means Sony makes nothing.

The one I bought was their first, I think.

It was ages ago anyway. One good tune, the rest sounded like a low-rent version of The Prodigy.

It's pretty much what they are, (they've even included some prodigy in their acts) but they've included more punk to their efforts now and Warner have refined their sound. Check out their Brixton and Glastonbury performances. Much better.

You know what would be good, to next year get John Cage's 4'33'' to the top of the charts, thus making the point that silence is better than the shit in the charts. Would also be funny to see radio stations having to have dead air.

Are people wumming with this Sony stuff? The point of this was to take the christmas charts away from Simon Cowells bland ballad bullshit and a kid who is frankly annoying and deserving of dick all. Don't think anyone cares how much money Sony make.. especially since most the teen population buy their playstations.

I still think they should give all the money they made to charity, not just some of it.

They already do plenty for different anti-racism organisations and different causes in south america. If they give some to charity here, and offer to put on a free live show does it then matter how much they keep for themselves? How much do you give to charity?

Synco records, Simon Cowells company is owned by Sony and is responsible for 70% of the music arm of the japanese companies revenue. RATM are under the Sony label, why are people acting as if we've just struck a blow to the corperate music machine?

:boring: That's a 'reported' 70% of Sony Music UK's profits. It's fecking retarded to believe that extends to their global music profits in a significant way. And anyone who in any way considered this as a blow to corporate anything is just as much of a twat as everyone who was instructed to buy a song which repeatedly cries 'feck you, I won't do what you tell me' and went and did what they were told. The whole idea is flawed, but only if you believe any of that matters. The idea of the Christmas No1 for evermore being whoever does the best cover of the gayest song is shit. It is surely better for the No1 to be the best recent song, but with the state of the charts now the No1 without Rage or X Factor would be Lady fecking Gaga. So really there's not much chance of there being a good Christmas No1 for years as long as X Factor continues and teens follow Facebook campaigns.

In conclusion, free Rage gig :D

Originally Pendulum were excellent, making dark drum and bass in the studio but then recently they wanted to be a posy 'band' and get their cocks out and pretend their keyboards were guitars and consequently became utter shit.
I hope this helps you in some small way.

As There are Xfactors/popidols etc in almost every country in the world and the musis goes through Sony it's not that hard to imagine how much money it generates world wide.

I really hope Joe wins. We can show those RATM fans, what real passionate and beautiful music sounds like. Rather than the manufactured rubbish which these silly rock bands release year after year.

I hadn't even heard of RATM before this. They are just trying to get famous off of the back of our lovely Joe!

 :annoyed:

What? Kinky clearly posted a list of the Syco artists. Only their sales go to Cowell, and that is entirely represented by the 70% of Sony UK's sales. It goes no further, Syco comes under Sony UK. Other reality shows have nothing to do with it.

I know little about all this, having not read this thread, and not paying particularly high interest to the charts these days. I've gathered there's an internet campaign to stop Cowells X factor winner from topping the charts. And that they've chosen a song by Rage Against the Machine, who also happen to be on Sony record label, to do it. I know they were successful, although this X factor winner will be top next week. Have I got that right?

Anyway, I heard the Rage song on TOTP Christmas Special earlier, and it was dire. I admire what people were trying to do, but in the end they seem to have sparked life into the existing order of the music industry, and have succeeded in a crap song on a major label making it to number 1

I'm going to exert my own form of 'people power', and go back to not giving a crap about who's top of the charts at Christmas. I only found out yesterday that Hallelujah was last years topper!
