I personally would of been more annoyed/suprised if Rafael didn't act that way.

He clearly loves to play and really feels he can make a difference, he is a winner and getting subbed early probably hurt his pride. Hopefully he uses it as a bad experience and It won't Happen to him ever again.

I'd honestly have been more angry at Rafael if he didn't act that way. It was the heat of the moment and he showed passion and a desire to play, was he supposed to be smiling and happy? Yes he should apologize to Sir Alex but in the heat of the moment I see nothing wrong with it.
Are you talking to me or the caf in general because I completely agree

Man, the haircut is a no no from me.

I want him to grown his curls back and Anderson to get his dreadlocks back!!!

shit hair but good performance. He does well against teams that play along the ground and try and dribble around him. Also had an assist for the 2nd rooney goal and won the FK for RvPs golazo.

was delighted he started and a great rebound from the disappointment at Reading

Excellent again, only thing for him is that offensively he's a good passer but defensively he can be prone to playing too safe and booting it out when he could knock it to the goalie or up the pitch. Maybe could be due to when he first came here and was trying to over do it, but given our weakness with crosses/corners atm, it would be better for him to try and either keep possession or at least knock it long when he can.

Love him. Proper United RB for me. And he will only get better.

For me, our best defender by far this year (probably our very best player if not for RvP) and also our most improved, alongside De Gea. fecking love this guy, he will make that #2 shirt his own in no time.

Is that not two assists then? Or does winning a FK not count for one?

He is good, quite good, very good.

Definitely the best right back in Premier League in this season.

Not really loving the John Trevolta painted on hair cut.

Performance wise, he was class again. The fact that he was able to come back, after what happened at Reading last week, and put in a top performance shows how much the lad is maturing.

Was really impressive again. Even if he does get beaten, you just know he is going to claw his way back in front of the man and block the cross or win the ball back the second time.

Nice to see him get the assist for the second goal as well.

I already miss his old hairstyle, the short look will take some time to get used to

Great to see him come back from the disappointment of getting subbed at Reading. Put in a great shift again.

It's not just him. Other players do it too. I'm sure that's the next phase the management will work with the team on. We just kept giving the ball back to City. Eventually, we calmed down and started getting on the ball and threatening them again. It probably will take time but it's amazing how we struggle to keep possession at times. City weren't even pressing us! Ah well. I'll leave it for another day.

Gone for the John Travolta look.

Best right back in the league TBH. Glad he is passed his injuries/fitness issues. Be gutted if Fergie starts rotating right backs as he has done the last few seasons. Smalling and Jones injuries have been the best thing for Rafael.

Brilliant player this year, and as many others have said, probably our player of the season thus far (him or RVP) in terms of consistency and high levels. Is it time that supporters from other teams start to notice him for the quality player he is?

The only thing that concerns me is that he has now become so good, is so technically gifted, fast, good in attack and defensively, that I can see other clubs knocking at the door, like Real Madrid - they have feckin Arbeloa... I hope he'll sign a long term contract; he should be paid at least what Welbeck is! More important to the team, a bigger talent, at the moment a better player and future prospects are at least as bright.

Surely one of the best RB's in the League this season, considering that no one has really stood out in that position?

He is still 22. Imagine what he will be like when he will be hitting 25-26.

He only just recently signed a new contract with us as it is. Can't remember exactly, but he is signed up for the next four years at least.

Yep he signed at the start of the season. I don't think he'll move, he's been here since he was 15. He'll go down as a Manchester United legend.

He's far and away the best right back in the league for me. He's surprisingly mature and consistent and has so much development left in him. Given how good he is at the moment and how young he is, he looks on course to becoming one the finest full backs in European football. What a phenomenal spot that was by our scouts.

I think he's particularly culpable of it, not just against city but in general. Doesn't take away from his great season so far just for something for him to work on, I've noticed rio and Evans having a go at him over it in a few games so hopefully he'll get the message.

Rafael has my vote for top RB in the English prem this season to date. And he actually has some decent competition.

Interesting in that article they say 1 of the reasons Valencia sometimes struggles is because Rafael takes the wide line when overlapping which sometimes confuses Valencia...

But to he honest that is Valencia issue. He needs to practise coming inside.

If Valencia can get back into beast mode, him and Rafael will quite comfortably be the best fullback/winger combination in the prem, if not Europe.
