Radamel Falcao Garcia

Yes, but Mancini went to see him play. So there is obviously some interest there. I have a feeling he's gonna offload Tevez and Ballotelli at the end of the season anyway.

Absolute bollocks. Atletico bought him for 40. He won't got for anything under 60 million imo.

Gabriel Marcotti suggested the other day that Falcao and his agent are very much in control of the situation, and basically that Atletico are allowing them to dictate when he leaves (he explained why this was, but I can't remember the details off hand). Basically the contract has a release clause, and when reached Atletico will go along with the player's wishes. He thought January would be possibility for the move from Atletico, and as we know there are only a few clubs that will be in the running; two of which are in this country.

But of course I never believe transfer gossip in the tabloids, and I certainly don't believe the Mirror in general - so yes the report is very likely bollocks.

Marcotti isn't very reliable either.

Can't disagree with that either - though I still think the Chelsea move will be just a matter of time.

Aye, but with 4 years left on his contract he won't leave for less than 65 imo.

My opinion may be suspect but I regard him as the 3rd best player in the world at the moment. Yes, biased towards attackers, but nevertheless that's what I think.

EDIT: Just saw Lynk's post, glad I'm not the only one.

The fact that we've signed Van Persie, and that Citeh have Aguero, Tevez et al, and an unconvincing Torres will make him a natural fit for Chelsea.

Hope not...may well be panic stations if Chelsea get Falcao.

Chuck in another decent defender and that's one hell of a team, especially given that the likes of Hazard and Oscar will almost certainly improve. Hazard, Oscar, Mata and Falcao... :nervous:

Absolutely feck all between the top 3 in that scenario. I hope Barca go for him just so we don't have to put up with a team in this league having him.

. . . and Ramirez. Fook!

Exactly. Didn't they already turn down a 60 million pound bid from Russia during this last window anyway?

He's just a complete striker and has improved immeasurably. A Year ago, I used to think Cavani was better than him. Now I think it's very clear who's better out of the two.

I think in his second season at Porto he was already the best pure striker in the world.

It'll be another resounding 'feck you' to FFP if they do get him. With the way the market works for such in-form players, Atletico will be getting robbed for anything under £40mil.

FFS... a potential 4-2-3-1 for Chelsea featuring Hazard/Mata wide with Oscar linking midfield-attack, Falcoa scoring goals, Ramires in midfield, Ivanovic, etc. They would only be a couple players away from the most complete starting XI. Scary thoughts.

Hard to know. They just had 1M profit for last financial year, the first time since Abramovich arrived.

If they get him by January and are still in walking distance of the top spot, they could walk the league. Terrifying prospect.

Still, never trust goal.com.

The good news is their defensive is still rubbish.

They don't talk as much bullshit as before, a drastic improvement in last 2 years.

Anyway, I hope that he will have a similar career to Torres (if he goes there). Also, walking the league is too much. Even at his best he is not as good as Drogba at his best (IMO) so hell knows what will happen, but that would really drastically increase their chances of winning the title.

Raphael Honigstein said on Press Pass last night that his "sources" lead him to believe a January move is very unlikely, but Chelsea and Real Madrid are making big moves for a deal in the summer. He expects to see Falcao playing in the Real white next season instead of Chelsea blue, but obviously the inter-city politics are a factor. Let's hope he's right, I don't want him at Chelsea or City ever, never mind in January :nervous:

---Fellaini--Ramires---
Oscar---Mata---Hazard
--------Falcao--------

Would be awesome. I'm fairly certain they will sign one of Fellaini/Falcao. Seems more probable that they will buy Falcao but with both of them in excellent form it wouldn't surprise me if they bought both. One in Jan and the other in the Summer.

This.

If they fixed their CBs, their starting XI would be terrifying.

Damn it, I'd hate to see a player I admire so much playing for a team that I genuinely dislike... (talking about Real).

Yup, but they'll be back in the red with the next one, factoring in their summer signings. They did clear a few senior players off the wage list, but a lot of their new boys have been able to demand big salaries anyway. If they buy Falcao, they'll have made some serious losses.

On paper, that looks very impressive, but to be honest, I think their pairing of Obi-Mikel and Ramires works very well for them. Obi-Mikel is one of the most unimpressive players in their squad, for sure, but he does give them that bit of stability in midfield that you need when playing such an anarchic attacking game. I don't especially like him, I think he's a bit of a poor man's Essien (when Essien was at his best), but swapping him for Fellaini wouldn't essentially make them stronger I think, especially given Fellaini's evolution as a player over the last 18 months (plays more of a 9 1/2 role nowadays).

And then they went and spent 60M on players after that. Not sure any of the new signing were in the report.

Mikel is fine for them IMO. If they get Falcao they should prioritise a centre back.

When Fellaini was playing in his defensive role his stats were the best, if not among the best within the league. He is more than capable of playing a role where he intercepts/tackles and then passes it off. He wouldn't need to improve his passing game or attacking fluidity either as the other 5 are more than capable enough to do so. He would also provide cover and a different game plan in an attacking sense. Falcao getting onto Fellaini's knockdowns in certain games would work very well.

I think with Falcao he is the complete striker so would work perfectly in any system that was implemented for him. A Striker you can build the team around.

But if they signed 5 year contracts that means that it will count only as 12M, which means that they are -11M. Probably less if their wages are lower than wages of players who were shown the door during the summer.

Anyway as long as they don't feck off early in Champions they should be fine (considering the new TV deal as well). Also, for first 3 years the owner could inject 45M in total.

Agreed, I think he could be the difference in how the league pans out if Chelsea get him in January, so better he goes to Real next season.

If they managed to get Hummels or Subotic... :nervous:

Exactly, would be horrific for us! Not sure which one they would go for now you mention it. Hummels is the classier player, but Subotic is more Vidic like and might suit their team more.
