We've spent a shit load of money on players like Di Maria, Falcao, Mata over the last year who should all be in their prime so we're not intending to waste it all on a Europa league finish. This applies to Van Persie and Rooney as well - another 2 of our best players who are in their peak/approaching the end of their peak. We need to have something to show for it.
Liverpool almost won the league having conceded a ridiculous amount of goals last season. I think if we can get our forwards going, like really going 3 or 4 goals a game we can easily win the league. We've got bloody Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria.
