Edit: this makes Cavani rumors look like a more desirable scenario
Was thinking the same... At least Cavani is more versatile and can play several positions... High workrate too

I think we've seen the best of him regardless.Loan move not baffling in the slightest - if RvP has a long term injury, as has been rumoured.
On RvP - if he is seriously crocked, sadly, I'd say we've seen the best of him.
-400%.So without reading through the thread...how likely is this to happen?
City can't sign him without getting rid of Negredo, Real Madrid don't seem that keen, Arsenal probably won't sign him so if United want him, no reason why they wouldn't be able to. How practical it is is another thing altogether. So without reading through the thread...how likely is this to happen?
Rumors he needs a knee op for ligament damage that he postponed in order to play the WC under pressure, ironically, by LVG
Rooney's cross-field passing is the best. After some of the shite from our midfield on Saturday, I can understand him being moved back. Trying to turn him into Scholes maybe?
Not sure, he has to have knee surgery I think

With RvP potentially crocked and ageing and Hernandez and Welbeck possibly leaving, this signing makes sense IMO
I don't think the fee will be that high if it does indeed happen, but to be honest I'm not too bothered either wayNot for the fee it doesn't.
It'd also mean we'd have three strikers over 28 years old on our books. We'd have to spend big again in a few years to replace two. Why not look for a young promising striker instead.
Or better keep Welbeck and buy players in other positions that we need.

That's one way of looking it it.With RvP potentially crocked and ageing and Hernandez and Welbeck possibly leaving, this signing makes sense IMO

Another way is that if RVP needs an op, that's the opportunity to move to LVG's preferred 433 formation without having to worry which one of Rooney or RVP to drop or play out of position

Blind Herrera

Di Maria Januzaj

Come to papa Arsene, Radamel.
He was supposed to have the op in the Summer but Van Gaal persuaded him to delay it to play in the World Cup. Could be that it's now become vital it's done.Agree. It's absolute rubbish. If he needed an op, why would they play him?
Yeah, just my opinion. That's one way of looking it it.

Spoilsport!!Dealio off, thank The Lord. His agent has just said that he will go to the club which has the most money AND PLAYS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
From the BBC's Deadline Day live feed
Football agent Rachel Anderson: "The club with the most money will sign Radamel Falcao, as long as they play Champions League football. We don't know where he will go, we just know he will"
So that rules us out. Good.
Utd's Van Gaal could always buy a replacement. Holland's Van Gaal couldn't!!So Van Gaal the Dutch manager ended up screwing over Van Gaal the manager of Manchester United.
That's not his agent. His agent is Jorge MendesDealio off, thank The Lord. His agent has just said that he will go to the club which has the most money AND PLAYS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
