I think we have to take into account that we are missing both our starting CBs and Martinez is a big miss when it comes to our build up from the back.

Also, the sheer volume of games we have played is insane. When we played Brighton in the semi final of the FA Cup, it was their 37th match of the season while it was something like 56th for us. That's basically half a season of extra football for the players with a world cup in between where most of our players were involved. That is absolutely going to make a difference to any team's performance barring City who have a group of 20-22 top players in their squad.
 
My most pessimistic predictions for United had us finishing on 71 points meaning behind Liverpool on goal difference, but that was based on us only getting 1 point from Spurs and Villa, so we're ahead of that scenario.

That pessimistic prediction also had us losing to Brighton and West Ham, so 'bonus' points available there :lol:

9 more points and we're above Liverpool's 71 points and qualified.

they were in a 1-1 match with west ham until around the 70th minute the other day, they were in a 3-2 (needing another 70th min goal) match with forest last week stop acting like they are in some world class unstoppable form.

DId you see of those games? They were easily the better side in both. That Forest game they basically just went up the pitch and scored anytime Forest scored.

Not sure that’s the point? It’s proof that anything can happen.
West Ham should have gotten a last minute pen and Forest missed a glorious chance for 3-3.

While its still not over we're in a comfortable position. But I still worry about next week. I think we'll lose to Brighton with the form they're in. Then west ham away. A set piece and crossing team against lindelof, de gae and Shaw. Get 3 points from next week and we're on the way. I wouldn't be surprised to see Liverpool drop points also against either Fulham or brentford.

Don't get complacent. Liverpool are suddenly in great form are winning 3-0 after 20 today, then have Fulham and Brentford homes to come.
Relegation sides Leicesterand Southampton too, and their hardest game is home v Villa.

They could easily win that lot.

We should still see it out, but we could easily drop points in a few games.

I was quite surprised so many people think its a clear pen - he's sliding in for a challenge and it hits his arm thats between his body and the floor - not sure where else he's meant to put his arm. It's also not meant to be a penalty of you're arm is supporting your body as part of a slide. But this is a discussion for another thread.
