Race for top 4 | Finito.

Even draws are no use to us. We have to get two wins no matter what, Liverpool aren’t dropping any points.

You just know our team has another slip up or even two in them. It feels the same as it was before the Brighton and West Ham game. The same false sense of security. I have a bad feeling we are going to mess this up. Even just 2 draws in our last 3 is not far fetched which would see us miss out probably.

If we miss out by 1 point then I will forever have nightmares about that Shaw handball

I think all three clubs will finish on 71 points and we will be 5th on GD.

I will have nightmares about the dozens of great chances we missed throughout the season.

All of the remaining teams have nothing to play for and they basically "can go to the beach", just win those games

The annoying thing is, you know if Liverpool win their last 9 games on the trot it won't be for nothing. There's no way they win their last 9 and finish 5th, the narrative is already written that they'll have rescued top 4 from an impossible position.

The only question is which one of United and Newcastle are bottling it.

Not against bottom half sides. If it was our entire away from we would be down there with Chelsea!
Depends what Bournemouth team turn up I suppose, they have beaten Liverpool there this season. Also depends if we’re up for it.

Newcastle have dropped points in the last 2 games. They have Brighton, and Chelsea still to play. They’re most likely too.

for newcastle comes down to brighton game. They win that they should be fine. Of course now leicester could be even moreeeeee desperate when they play haha (as if that matters).

Villa is their last game of the season at Anfield. They will trample over Villa

How? Their last two is against this Leicester side and that Chelsea side. They can afford to lose v Brighton. Even GD is in their favour

We just need to do our job. Surely to god we have one half decent away performance in us and a Chelsea team in complete freefall.

It would be a bigger bottling job then Arsenal bottling the league If we lose it from here

I think it'll be about if Brighton are fresh enough after playing at Emirates on Sunday. Good thing is they'll be motivated enough as they have a realistic chance of securing european football next season.

Newcastle will beat (probably heavily) Leicester at home and then go to Bridge on last day, they'll be favourites there too you'd think.

i just feel like chelsea are always a risk to finally get their shit together for a game at least. Theyve got some talented players. You go into a game that is a must win and people enjoy playing spoilers. Id like to say leicester will be desperate next week as well but at this point who knows.

Top 4 next season will be really hard if Liverpool get themselves together and with Poch going into Chelsea. City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle (you would think), Arsenal, Spurs, us.. the top third of the table is getting harder and harder to predict. Except the champions. Which will of course be City.

Would be a bit of fun to know we'll be getting 71 points now, and have to sweat out the Newcastle and Liverpool games.

Suddenly starting to look very worrying now isn't it? I'm confident we can beat Bournemouth but then it's more Thursday feckery, Chelsea can be motivated to restore some pride, a lot of good players still, new big name manager buzz. Fulham away is looking the most dodgy a few days after, they'll be charged up and have had some good results lately. Hopefully we have two wins before the last game and it's all done and dusted.

Of course Newcastle could slip up but I'd rather see Pool kept out.

Fulham at home mate…beat Bournemouth and the nerves will settle

Assuming Liverpool don’t put 6/7 past Southampton last day.

It's Fulham at home.

And we really shouldn't be worried about facing Lampards Chelsea. I don't think you get new manager buzz before they arrive, we certainly didn't last year with Ten Hags announcement as manager. We still played like shit under Rangnick.

We're at home.

If there was just one more round of fixtures I think Liverpool would get top 4. As it is they look like they should just miss out by running out of games.

They’re making it far more interesting than we’d like though. People said weeks ago they were going to win all their remaining fixtures and were ridiculed and they are. We all knew they were capable of that which is why a 9 point lead can get blown in a top 4 race. We saw in the title race also how a lead can be blown by a team winning literally every single game.

Yeah thanks for correction. I feel a lot better we're at home.

With Chelsea, before Tuchel was appointed many of the players still there wanted a big name coach of a higher technical level and Lampard out. They responded very well to Tuchel straight away. I can see some uplift with many of the players feeling confident about Chelsea again now they have a big name coming in. Lets not forget Felix has our number as well.

I can see Newcastle dropping more points than we do.

That’s what I’m desperately clinging to, more than us doing the job ourselves. Brighton beat them and they may start to shit themselves a bit. Although I’m expecting them to get a draw in that game and I don’t see them losing any of their remaining games.

I think there is a sting in the tail yet and the way we have been for years I expect it will be our fans ending up being absolutely gutted.

Follow that with an FA Cup pasting and a City treble and that’s quite possibly the worst end to a season since 2012.

Glass half full me, haha!

Btw we will beat Bournemouth. A week off between the game, having varane and garnacho back, and possibly rashford back, and Bournemouth are safe, who had less intensity in their last two games (much like wolves)

We will also beat Fulham at home

Yeah but it won't be Pochettino we're facing next Thursday.

It'll be shitty Frank Lampard. I know new manager bounce is a thing but I've not heard of new manager bounce before the new manager arrives. They have nothing to play for and are totally demoralised.

I got laughed at 7 games ago when I said Liverpool are right in CL fight. they will be city’s main opposition next year when he tweaks the midfield, simply because the side has the ability to get 90 points plus and they have goals all over the team. add an Alexis Macalister and one more in midfield and they will Challenge. Liverpool are getting 71 points and will have a huge GD. We need to simply take care of our own business, it should have been done already but it’s not so we have to beat Bouremouth first next week then I’ think we’ll be ok but let’s be clear here the way United are playing and Newcastle’s nerves, Liverpool could easily finish third with 71 points and the other two 4th and 5th with 70 and 69, even Brighton have an outside chance of 70 points probably 65-66 but they can hurt Newcastle next week whether it’s a win or. a draw, Chelsea as a last home Game could also be a different proposition then Chelsea travelling, United must win against Bouremouth then I think we’ll be ok, but that game is now the biggest of our season and we need to go all out attack!

Potentially denying us Top 4 would be their cup final.

Would be funny if after all the knee jerk reactions on here, it's Newcastle who drop off from the Top 4 and it's us and Pool who play in the CL next season.

Have a really bad feeling about our run in. Feels like our only chance to get top 4 is if Newcastle bottles it.

Liverpool will win their remaining games.
