A parents love is unconditional. The Tories could have revoked his diplomatic status but they didn't.
And then there’s people like me wondering whether I should be taking hits for transfers when there might not be any games this week.
I would think that whilst not celebrating the woman's death it will have brought us closer towards the end than the beginning of this 'experiment'.

Life moves on and that's natural, but to say or suggest people will forget about it is not true. It's not like a sports person dying, it's someone who almost the whole world has grown up knowing (for good or bad)

Whether she was alive or dead it has no tangible or practical impact on 99% of people's lives. Most people are worried about the cost of living and energy prices rising. She's just another famous person who has died and will be remembered in the history books because of it.

I'm not at all surprised or upset no matter how odd I find it. Since living through the VE day scale celebrations after the Falklands War, which I found quite disturbing, and the death of Diana, which was close to mass hysteria, nothing about Brits celebrating being ruled by hereditary toffs will surprise me. Although to be fair if you do want that system of government the Queen wasn't as bad as it could have been.
The Queen was a very rich woman whose estate will pay no Death Taxes, that is more than just a few pennies.
Don't get me started on Thatcher, besides - not the topic and a different layer of corruption, not greater, not lesser.
Obviously day to day life has to go on and nobody is arguing that. I am arguing that that this is a big moment in history. It doesn't change people's lives in most places in a few months time other than "it's weird to see Charles do Christmas speech"
But her death, as of today and then next 10 days it's a big moment because that's all people will see - especially in the UK.
Also as for impact, yeah maybe nothing really in the UK will be impacted long term except singing 'God save the King' but the commonwealth who have Queen head of state may be thinking it's time to stop that
Ultimately I am not saying this will have an impact on people's lives long term, but it is a big moment in history and it's no surprise people are feeling whatever they are
Just because people feel sad or whatever doesn't mean they think it impacts their day to day life

He wasn't banned for that comment being anti-royal but he was given a warning for the good riddance bit and not for the anti-royal bit. He is temp banned because this latest warning again tipped him over into a second temporary ban. And it wasn't anything to do with the nationality of the mod who gave the warning.
Yeah, I always try to convey to my students that lots of folks remained loyal to the crown when I teach US History. Sadly, loads more folks do believe that everyone rebelled.

The same way Michael Jackson fans consider his death a big moment in history.
Atleast with the latter you can still experience his legacy through his music.

Not that I'm advocating for crass comments but at this point there is no meaningful distinction between The Queen as a person and as an institution.

Watching the news tonight showing her from 52 till now. She really enjoyed being Queen right till the end. So touching to watch her from so young and now to read the negativity is disappointing but not surprising. RIP
