QPR v Manchester United (Friendly) Saturday 24th July 2021 @ 3pm BST | 4-2 loss

and then came the Leicester match, a tale of two halves.
I still maintain if the ref hadn't been a complete twat and given the foul to us (seconds before their penalty), we would have won the game and ADM - having played so well in the game - would have been flying. It is among the worst bits of refereeing in PL history - and that's going some

The good old days of matic, pereira and lingard. Throw in Dan James for some hot sauce.

There's nothing we can do but I think it could be be a rough start to the season when our first game is only 3 weeks away and most of our first team are still on holiday.

QPR are playing a strong team against mostly our kids.

Their league starts in 2 weeks, sot hey are also farther through preseason that we are.

I think this is a really good test for the youngsters, a proper team to play against, which derby were not.
wasn't that the excuse for last season's slow start? and the one before that?

My concern is more that we are 3 weeks from the season starting and, just like last season, only two or three likely starters are involved.

There was talk that De Gea, Bruno and McTominay all volunteered to come back a week early to make sure they're fit. None of them played major minutes. You'd hope Sancho would maybe do the same considering he barely played.

You can understand Fred/Lindelof/Shaw/Cavani who played a lot of minutes needing more recovery.

Match fixer twattenburg though wasn't it.

Keep in mind we only have 2 first teamers starting today in AWB and Mason.
Periera , Williams, Matic, James have all had their chances in and around the first team and have proven that they're just simply not good enough.

Don't understand why Andreas is still at the club.

And we need Trippier.

Matic doesn’t belong amongst those names

We will never get better at that. Still poor after more than three years with Ole. He just can't set up a team that can play out from the back.
Feel the same but that's an argument for another thread.
This has been awful.

Jesus christ.

Its not an excuse.

It is what this match is.

You know, reality. This match has no bearing on how we will play at the start of the season, because barring maybe two players, our first team are still sitting on beaches all over the world.

they're slowly returning, I believe Pogba (lol) and Bruno should be back for the Preston game next weekend along with McTominay, Martial and VDB. The England boys will be back for the Everton game

We've got another 4 friendlies after this. We'll be no different to all the other top teams.

Matic and Pereira had been overrun by QPR. These guy won't help this season at all and needs to sold ASAP.

Our first two games are Leeds and Southampton who will already be training with pretty much their full strength squads.

If only we had another Greenwood to play those passes through to Greenwood.

Literally only 1 first 11 player on the pitch right now. Can't expect much. But hopefully this will be a good guide as I expect our actually first 11 to not all be ready for the Leeds game, so over these friendlies Ole will be able to see who will be fit enough and on decent form to hold candle till all our first 11 are available.

We cannot afford another shit start to the season with players nowhere near sharp until game week 6

This also concerns me tbh. I understand why the Euros and Copa players were given a break but I'm concerned it could badly affect our preparation for the season and we absolutely can't afford to start the season unprepared yet again
