QF | Spain vs Germany | Portugal vs France

Come on talking about the ref with such a very good match, for christ sake

Germany eliminated, Spain decimated. I fancy our chances more and more so we'll probably lose to Turkey tomorrow. It really is the hope that kills you eh?
That does sound like the Dutch way. Though usually they seem to lose unexpectedly after blasting some opponents off the pitch. Other than Romania they didn't this time, so maybe there is hope.

People talking about the handball that would have been deemed offside in the build up, but the real offender was the clear as day penalty on Fullkrug. Defender held onto his shirt like he was desperately hanging from a cliff. Anywhere else it's a foul and a yellow card and no one would bat an eyelash. Granted, Kroos was beyond fortunate to be on the pitch for his long as he was.

When i saw that guy get the ball all alone on the left i knew this wouldn't go well. Heartbreaking nevertheless, after such a huge fight with brilliant spirit and grit. This match deserved to be at least a semifinal, after the first goal it was one of the best matches i have seen in some time. If only Havertz and Füllkrug had aimed a little better, if only Taylor wasn't Taylor.. as a great German *********** once said: 'wäre wäre Fahrradkette'.

@JPRouve is on a very funny downer about his NT. They’ll still win the competition even if they bumble and stumble to the trophy?
I'm an unfunny downer about my national team, at least until Ronaldo finally retires. France was a world cup winner, world cup finalist (with a valiant performance) recently no reason to be down. They play Benitez shit on a stick football but unlike ourselves win something from time to time.

It really will, that's literally what just happened
Yes, but no one other than you will care.

Kroos will be remembered for many, many things. Making lots of fouls in his last game for Germany won’t be one of them. Guarantee it.

I think just 3 players from Spain suspended for SFs:

- Carvajal
- Morata
- Le Normand.
Yes, people overdoing it. Only real miss is Carvajal tbf. Nacho should be playing over Le Normand anyway and Morata sucks.

Good post this

Yup, Don't forget we won 88 with a shite group performance and "Undutch" 442.

I obviously misheard it but it definitely sounded like Roy said "feck off" when they said he knows it feels to miss the final

We were very lucky. We have never beaten the host and it will be very difficult against France/Portugal.
I feel sorry for the German friends but I thought they were a very dirty team and playing very aggressively. First of all Kroos, who is not an idiot and knows who he is fouling, Wirtz leaving his foot on Laporte, Kimmich on Cucurella....
They have very good players to be a power in the world cup like Musiala or Wirtz but others who are very bad. A lot of impetus to depend on Fullkrug.

Someone is playing with Eder's spirit tonight

Think Spain deserved it overall and were the better side in extra time.

Carvajal being missing against Mbappe could be a factor.

There's a reason Germany's downfall started with Klose retiring. We have absolutely no clinical strikers.

Klose scored two goals at the WC, one against Ghana one against fecking Brazil...

Schweinsteiger (quasi) retiring has been the far bigger problem. There has been no balance in midfield, no proper DM, ever since. The team only had the opportunity to blame the strikers, because Nagelsmann found this volatile equilibrium in playing two extremes in CM with Kroos and Andrich/Can and Gündogan + Musiala in front of them.

The records will show an early exit for the hosts but we all know the two best teams just played each other. What a game.

That was definitely the final come early. The winner of that game is clearly going to win it for me. The Spanish are the best team, and the Germans were very decent with home advantage.

Pedri also got injured today and will miss the rest of the euros
I also think either Ferran Torres or Fabian Ruiz will miss?

Nope. Both Torres and Ruiz are available.

Morata is not a big miss imo.

Pedri injury is a shame. But Olmo is an excellent backup.

I hope he's at the stadium. Éder the national hero. Hasn't paid a meal since his heroics. No restaurant accepts his money. It was funny reading his interview where he claimed that.

It's understandable in the moment you can't see it that way but I know you guys are good posters and, in time, will be big enough to agree that it was the right result and wish them good luck.
Thanks for letting me vent. But i don't think i will wish them good luck, that's a bridge too far after their shithousery after their lead.

maybe second only to the Argentina France final. Brilliant game that. And Havertz really missed too many chances for this kind of a tight game. Germany should have won on balance but Spain were brilliant after Germany scored and took it to ET.

Dani Omo has to play always.
Spain still didn't used their Rodri card yet.
People put too much focus on the "pen" (this silly nowadays VAR penalties) but the game was almost lost by the Spanish coach and almost lost by Havertz's misses.
It was a match that could go eithrr way, with better collective work by Spain and better chances for Germany.
BTW Rudi took a nap with merino's goal and he was having a great match
Carvajal out next game it's a very bigg miss for Spain even if he struggled with Musiala.
Musiala and Wirtz took too much time to be on their best and less rushed, but they arrived to the game still at time and were great since the last 20 minutes of normal time

Deschamp is gonna sleepwalk France to another final isn’t he?

Well you guys have your fair share of blame. Useless. Kinda like us against yourselves. I was rooting so hard for zee Germans. When you're portuguese having to put up with the Spanish smugness is too hard to bare.

turkey is one of most unpredictable teams. I go for a 3:2 Netherlands

The two best anthems in the world by some distance these two.
