QF | Spain vs Germany | Portugal vs France

Absolutely agree. It’s a coping mechanism for some.

Was a fair game and Spain edged it

It is understandable after that handball moment wasnt even checked by VAR though.

Penalties have been given for a lot less. This was more a penalty than the one Germany got against Denmark in my opinion.

Woooowww! amazing!

It was honestly difficult to see Spain winning after the substitutions, I hope same mistake is not repeated in the semifinals.

Good start and good Spain until ~60 (Nico and Yamal out), we will miss Carvajal a lot... I don't see how we will stop Mbappe/Bernardo/Other in that wing.

I would prefer Portugal because I think France style suits us the worst of the whole tournament.

Close match but Germany had more and better chances. Post and a clear penalty not given. Taylor decided the match for Spain

Kroos played 113 minutes for free, and he injured 2 Spain players.
What penalty? no handball because it was offside.

Taylor decided to keep Germany on the match at minute 5.

People talking about the handball that would have been deemed offside in the build up, but the real offender was the clear as day penalty on Fullkrug. Defender held onto his shirt like he was desperately hanging from a cliff. Anywhere else it's a foul and a yellow card and no one would bat an eyelash. Granted, Kroos was beyond fortunate to be on the pitch for his long as he was.

You can see the same play against Morata at the beginning of the 2nd part.

Where's the user with the customary comment about our anthem. Gives us luck.

Only one anthem sings about bombs flying through the air. They can be second and third best.
Ours is about marching against cannons. The ultimate Gung ho.

He's trying to jinx it. No need, I think France will win confortably.

I'm not, I don't rate that lot at all. They can't score and the fullbacks are vunerable to anyone willing to run a little bit.

I hope that I'm wrong but I really don't rate them.

Tbf that doesn't sound like a smart thing to do.
It really doesn't. The last phrase translated is "against the cannons, march, maaarch". I'll take a hard pass on that.

turkey is one of most unpredictable teams. I go for a 3:2 Netherlands
I think the 3 suspensions will give us the edge but I still have little faith in the resilience of this Dutch side. Win tomorrow with impressive play and I might change my mind.

But it becomes annoying, we are seeing penalties where is a hand but the ball is going nowhere, or those were the player doesn't even have time to move his arm...I dunno, too much focus on this stuff when the game was great, rough, with bad/or grey on the moment ref decisions, but great nonetheless.

BTW, a penalty you have to scored it, people acts like if it's an instant goal. I understand a lot more a badly disalowed goal, that really hurts and still it's shyte that can happen. In normal games both parts will be fvck ata a certain moment, I don't get why peopel puts that much energy on complaining on those and not the actual gameplay and actions of their own teams that didn't help to win.

I don't think you have to worry mate. The historial heavily favours you. You just couldn't do anything against God Éder.

Ours is about marching against cannons. The ultimate Gung ho.
Ours about German blood and feeling up the Spanish king. At least we win in the kinky department.

a little twist for france playing the 4312 with griezman playing as a false 9 in a diamond

We were very lucky. We have never beaten the host and it will be very difficult against France/Portugal.
I feel sorry for the German friends but I thought they were a very dirty team and playing very aggressively. First of all Kroos, who is not an idiot and knows who he is fouling, Wirtz leaving his foot on Laporte, Kimmich on Cucurella....
They have very good players to be a power in the world cup like Musiala or Wirtz but others who are very bad. A lot of impetus to depend on Fullkrug.

Exactly why I have no idea what to make of that game. Spain were rather lucky but Germany, despite being the more deserving side to win, were also incredibly lucky not to have Kroos sent off (which would have been curtains for them against a very technical Spain side).

Fantastic entertainment, though. For whatever reason ridiculous knockout games like that only happen in the Euros and not the World Cup. Think Croatia-Turkey in 2008 and Portugal-England in 2004.
