I am fine with that not being a penalty, however I do think it clashes with the generally rather harsh line for what a handball penalty is given for, these days. I think in most cases, this would have been given under the current ruleset.

It's simple, when the ball hits the player on the hand it's always handball, unless the referee is hoping VAR will say something and VAR don't want to question the referee.
