Juventus is a big club in Europe with a huge tradition, many Ballon d'Ors and fantastic players. You have had many ex players in their managment over the years which means whoever comes to play for them will always respect the club. PSG tries to do the same thing but doesn't come close.Juventus are about to win an 8th straight league title. Yet they do well most times. Until they get to finals but that's another story
I thinks there's more to this.
Another example: That was against Lille and few days before the important CL away match in Napoli.Juventus is a big club in Europe with a huge tradition, many Ballon d'Ors and fantastic players. You have had many ex players in their managment over the years which means whoever comes to play for them will always respect the club. PSG tries to do the same thing but doesn't come close.
For instance, the players arrived late because the club allowed them to in the return leg vs Man United which isn't ideal for preparing a big game like that, they took it way too easily.
You also have all the special treatments that are afforded to their biggest stars, little details like that add up.
Juventus have largely won most of those league titles by significant margins bar one or two seasons.
I think PSG thought they had this game won before they even played. I contrast this to 2014 when we played Bayern. We were an awful side coached by an incompetent buffoon but Bayern went into that tie and actually showed us respect.
Someone gave a great example of Chelsea. Both PSG and Chelsea are money clubs but they seem distinctly different.. Chelsea's struggle to win in Europe were largely bad luck at late stages of the tournament. Phantom Luis Garcia goals, John Terry slips and a 'disgrace' of a referee. This PSG side are worlds away from that Chelsea side.
PSG's younger players are the ones who display the most maturity weirdly.
I think Juve have a naturally defensive style that allows them to translate it well in Europe. PSG are an attacking team, and it's all very well to thrash St Etienne and Nantes 5-0 and 6-0. But in Europe, they don't seem to adjust to the higher level of challenge provided by other teams. Even underdogs like Porto (in comparison to PSG) are more dangerous in the CL.
In contrast, Juve are used to winning 1-0 even against the likes of Chievo, though obviously they can attack if required. They have a cautious style as it is and thus don't need to make changes in Europe as it suits continental football.
This is also why we shouldn't bother about playing style in cup competitions. I just want to see pretty football in the league which is played on a more frequent basis. I don't care if we long ball our way to the CL final.
The facts don’t support your claim, though: Juventus has scored 75 goals in the league, in 27 games - 2.8 goals per game. PSG is at 79 in 26 games - 3.0 goals per game. Hardly significant, and definitely not 5-0 vs 1-0. PSG beat Saint-Etienne (your example) with 1-0 btw, whereas Juventus won 3-0 against Chievo. So your feelings about either don’t align with reality.
This video really tells you what PSG is about.
I agree completely.Juventus is a big club in Europe with a huge tradition, many Ballon d'Ors and fantastic players. Yeah and in 2008 we had this great title battle with Chelsea.
They're just not that good tbh. A 41 year old Buffon is going to make mistakes. They had 4 (?) cb's in their team against us, 2 of which looked pretty mediocre over the 2 legs. Playing marquinho's in midfield made a fair bit of sense against Pogba, but he was redundant in the second leg. Dani Alves isn't a serious CL knockout level player anymore. Draxler was ... tidy. Cavani, Neymar, Mbappe is a scary front line but there's nothing behind it. Veratti and Silva look top tier players, their inability to have an impact in any serious competition has to make you a bit sceptical though. The rest looks just about functional.
As others have said, there is no competition in that league for them, and there wont be for many years.
Apart from money, I have no idea why anybody would want to sign for them if they had other options to pick from.
You have a limited imagination
Why aren't PSG playing this weekend?
What have Madrid done apart from win trophies? These cnuts have become my new favorite team to hate. More so than RM at the moment. Well done.
All these clubs had competition in Ligue 1.....PSG are miles ahead of the other clubs.Sorry, but the argument that the french league is hurting PSG doesn't make any sense...Monaco reached CL semifinals a couple of years of ago,Marseille reached the final in Europe League a couple of years ago, Lyon beated Manchester City away the last year (when citizens were 1st place in Premier League), and in a couple of days Lyon have the chance to take Barcelona out of the Champions League (they just need a draw with goals scored to do it, and Barcelona's defense is not looking good for European competitions).
So, there is more than just 'french league is hurting them'.
I think they need hungrier players, not great players past their peak that only go to PSG for the paycheck (Dani Alves and Buffon).
I still don't understand what was the reason to get Buffon, i mean...he is 41...sure he was great, but he is too old now and past his peak. There was no reason to buy him, Areola was the least guilty for PSG eliminations in Champions League. At least if your gonna buy a GK to replace Areola, get the likes of Oblak,Courtuois,Handanovic, etc, why get a great GK past his peak? There is a reason why he left Juventus, and it was not because he though he would win Champions League playing for PSG.
Also, their defense looks pretty weak for a team that pretend to win the CL, Thillo Kherer,Kimpbembe,Thiago Silva,Marquinhos...please, that doesn't look like a defensive line to win the throphy. And the fact that they bought a 41 years old Goalkeeper doesn't help either.

Part 15: What is wrong at PSG
Imagine playing in a league where winning the title by 20 points isn't considered a success and if you get knocked out of the CL, there's no way it would be a successful season.
You're correct...They're cracking up, they're cracking up...
