Yawn

I am struggling with what to play on Xbox is the problem

And without buying any I have Horizon 4, Gears 5, Gears Tactics and Sea of Thieves and Halo 1, 2, 3, 4, Reach and ODST all with next gen enhancements. They all look and play stunning.

Talking about third party, it's nice to be able to play rocket and warzone at 120fps.

The only new games for the xbox series (3rd party games) surprisingly run better on the PS5.
How can we be sure the one game where this is the case has been tested properly if it keeps uninstalling it?

I'm glad they hold your attention and you get to save a ton of money. From that previous gen list, only Horizon 4 held mine for more than a couple of hours.

PS5 still winning
No lights to make it look cool in the dark

Playstation guys are desperate. I do feel like I'm missing out on games uninstalling by themselves though. It is quite boring having a console that has just worked.

Don't the sales tell the story? It's you who is desperate, you need validation you've made the correct decision in getting an Xbox.

It's fine, you've made the right choice.

You're the only person here who even thinks there is a console war going on

There is a match going on and you all here bickering about consoles. The team needs your support.

Pathetic.

I like Xbox especially since Phil Spencer took over and I think Gamepass is one of the best things in gaming but until they start releasing exclusives it’s always going to be behind the PlayStation.

On day 1 we got Spider-Man, Demon Souls, Astro’s and even Sackboy...how long will it take Microsoft to release just 4 games of that quality and they‘re pretty much b tier exclusive for Sony.

Sales don’t tell any story, no. The Sony fan base is full of people like Afro. He’d buy a PS5 if it had the power of a Megadrive, and still claim it was the best.

I don’t need any validation. It’s just so easy now after the ps boyz were desperate to keep being prats for the last 6 months, but the PlayStation has turned out a steaming pile of shit that can’t even keep a game installed.

Have you played Gears Tactics? Only came out last week.

If none of the Halos can hold your attention and nor can Gears then yeah Xbox to date isn't for you! Hopefully this gen things will be different though.

You could say similar for PS5 though. Astrobot is universally loved sure but otherwise.. not loads and plenty of people who won't care about a Souls remake or a Spiderman expansion that can be played on the previous gen.

It's just a launch thing.

That these consoles have backwards compat and actually play them better are the best things about them and what most people's hours will be spent on. Not the handful of next gen games.

Whilst I generally agree, and the bickering about games is pretty silly, Demon's Souls is easily one of the best launch games over the last few generations.

It shouldn't be considered any other way.

You’ve not even played it yet because it keeps uninstalling

To be fair they've not had a bad year first party wise, they just haven't planned well / recovered after the Halo delay which is what they centred launch around.

Gears Tactics (80), Wasteland Remastered, Wasteland 3 (85), Battletoads (72), Tell Me Why (78), Ori (93), Flight Simulator (92)

Obviously the last hasn't yet hit Xbox but it will be.

To compare, Spiderman MM (85), Demon Souls (91), Sackboy (80), Astrobot (90)

Had they positioned Ori and Wasteland 3 as launch games then it'd be a different narrative, when in reality it doesn't matter because all the current launch games could probably be played on last gen anyway (except Astro of course)

They've then added free upgrades to Forza Horizon 4 (92), Halo MCC (85), Sea of Thieves (69 - ouch), Gears 5 (84)

I appreciate metacritic is far from everything but clear to see there have been improvements and we are still to see the really strong investments made come to fruition.

It's a matter of time before they will be considered broadly to have a strong first party line up for me rather than an if.

Everything else is pretty much spot on. Hardware, approach, value prop, ecosystem, talent etc.etc. are all nailed down. Just that final crucial piece of the jigsaw to add.

What a new machine having glitches? Yeah, shocking! My god, can 2020 get any worse!

It's unheard of I tell you, unheard of. Just like having no actual new launch title is.

You were bitching about your Series X crashing to be fair

You made a bigger deal about Xbox settings being an extra click away than you’d like than the PS5 literally uninstalling a game

Bitching? It crashed once

I agreed with the setting thing once. You've made the same unfunny joke 3 times on this page alone

These console wars are still a thing then.

The current outsider view is that the Xboys seem to be clutching at straws at the mo.

I'll be back with my outsider view same time next week.
The Xbox has won. It’s just good to rub salt in the wounds after the way they’ve behaved the last few months.

Embarrassing isn’t it. Grown men arguing about consoles. I just take my console for what it is - the best next gen console available.

Give it a rest. Can’t take the United Hour podcast seriously anymore when you spent most the match posting in here rather than watching the match.

I actually think PS5 shades the 'games' front so far, you can't deny astrobot is something special and whilst not for me, Dark Souls is obviously huge and was already considered one of the best games made.

But Xbox hasn't got a games problem for anybody with gamepass, including first party (thanks to the free upgrades). It just hasn't got that next gen shine because of how they've timed things / the less 'generational' approach and obviously the Halo delay (which has obviously really hurt them)

Had Ori been timed to release last week rather than earlier in the year, that'd be rightly up with Demon Souls.

Elvis is welcome on the show whenever he wants!

I'm not on this week's episode so didn't have to pay attention thankfully.

Let's break it down and see who won launch:

Xbox
Positives:
Smooth as feck to set up. Not one issue mentioned here.

Negatives:
Game crashed for redlambs a couple of times.
Settings a click too far away for redlambs

PS5
Positives:
Astro, the game that looks like an upscaled mobile phone game with haptics, is quite fun, at least while the launch hype is there
Afro still hasn't got one

Negatives:
Nightmare to set up and get your games on.
Loads of people complaining about games uninstalling, even if they haven't 'copied', which shouldn't matter anyway.
Elvis can't even download two games he wants.
Reports of bricking if you put a foot wrong.

Xbox wins launch
