PS3 suffering from global network lockdown

My 360 has been dead a long time so plugging it in isn't a option...

Past midnight here, nothing changed... going to bed now, Sony better solve this for tomorrw, or else... or else I'll have another boring day without FIFA.

You are an hour ahead of GMT. Try in 34 minutes.

I don't know that they can considering the failure rates of the 360 is over 50% while the PS3 is at 10%. PSN is also free, which makes problems more tolerable imo.

Yes, if I were paying 40 quid a year for the privilege of playing my console online I'd be right royally fecked off if the network I was paying for decided to go down - moreso if it happened on Christmas Day.

I'll have had my PS3 3 years in April and this is the first time I've ever had a serious problem with the PSN.

That said, if it transpires I have lost game data and trophies, then Sony can feck themselves.

Who's stupid idea was it to only give February 28 days anyway.

You lot with fattys cant get on? poor you and am hearing from mates that Fattys seem to be working again. Check it for yourself.

Now I'll be up all night.

Well, I don't know, possibly every XB360 is a ticking time bomb, but that don't matter - shit breaks. They chuck out 1 million or so XB360s from LIVE because they've been modified - ah shit, caught red handed, buy another one. When the PS3 has a little glitch with the leap year meaning that it can't be played for a day, the entire developed world chucks a wobbler and the gaming Internet goes into meltdown - ohhhhhhhhhh noooooooeeeeessssss!

There are people in this world without clean running water and even without something to eat today. FFS!

Students?

I caught a glimpse of the front page of today's 'Metro' free paper on the train, big headline "millions suffer playstation meltdown" or something to that effect. Hardly a meltdown was it?!

In the end I got the message yesterday but I hardly use the PSN anyway. The internet still worked and all of my music was fine.

Actually laughing that a mate read this thread in my house the other day, acknowledged slimlines were working...and bought one in the knowledge that he was convinced his old one wouldnt work again!
